Bought a car in February this year after a week asked them to look at the car as the petrol consumption seemed quite high. I was asked to leave the car with them overnight and a mechanic would drive it home to test it. He reported that he had driven the car home and achieved 44 mpg and driving back achieved 50mpg over a distance of 64 miles I told them this was unrealistic but assured it was correct I was then asked to test it myself by filling the tank full and recording the mileage, the best I could achieve on motor way and city driving was 36 mpg this is also recorded in the cars own onboard computer contacted MR but was told as far as they were concerned they had tested the car so no further action was needed on there part saying it was possibly the way I drove the car. They then suggested I book it in to a VW garage for a diagnostic check at my own expense and if they found any issues they would review the situation ps the car had done 29000 miles when I bought it from them,I was also told a full service had been completed this consisted of an oil and filter change and vehicle check, this has to be by far the worse experience I have ever had when buying a car and I’ve been buying cars for over fifty years. Wouldn’t buy a push bike from this company .

Ok Let me tell you what you did which you should not have. Firstly take my car for an unauthorised test drive of almost 100 miles, then leave my diesel car with zero range with the risk of it breaking down, then in the first instance refuse to put back what was used, and finally which is the most insulting thing you could have done was to not allow me to get my reading glasses from my car to read the invoice without giving me my keys to collect them, intead i was accompanied to my car with key in your hands. None of this is good customer service that's the reason for my zero rating. Totally justified. M

I travelled a significant distance to purchase a Nissan Qashqai from Motor Range, Manchester, and specifically raised concerns beforehand based on similar reviews I had already read online. I was reassured repeatedly, including in writing from Motor Range, that the vehicle would receive a full service, that cosmetic issues would be rectified, alloy wheels refurbished, and that everything would be completed prior to collection so I would not need to return.
Unfortunately, the reality did not match those assurances.
The “full service” appeared to amount to little more than an oil and filter change and pre-delivery inspection. Cosmetic defects that had been specifically identified prior to purchase were still present, and the alloy wheel refurbishment was poor and inconsistent. Additionally, I was charged administration and fuel fees that were only properly discussed at the point of payment, despite previously being told the vehicle would come with half a tank of fuel.
The handover itself was extremely disappointing. I was simply handed the keys without a proper walkaround or even being shown where the vehicle was parked, despite assurances that the car had been fully prepared.
What has frustrated me most is not simply the condition issues themselves, but the way the complaint was handled afterwards. Despite providing a clear email trail confirming what had been promised prior to sale, the responses relied almost entirely on “company policy” and generic preparation standards, rather than addressing the actual representations made to me before I agreed to buy the vehicle.
In hindsight, I regret not paying closer attention to the similar reviews I had read beforehand, particularly as I specifically raised these concerns prior to purchase and sought reassurance that I would not experience the same issues.
While the car itself is generally fine, the overall customer experience and handling of the complaint has been extremely disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone purchasing from Motor Range to ensure that every promise is independently confirmed in writing before collection, rather than relying solely on verbal assurances.
Purchasing a car at such a significant cost should be an exciting and positive experience. Unfortunately, despite taking extra care beforehand, this experience ultimately became stressful and disappointing.
I hope this review helps others avoid similar issues, particularly where assurances are not fully reflected in the final outcome. I would encourage careful confirmation of all agreed terms before purchasing, as unfortunately the after-sales customer service experience did not reflect the assurances given prior to purchase.
I would strongly encourage prospective buyers to look carefully beyond the polished customer care responses to negative reviews, and pay very close attention to the recurring concerns being raised.

Following Motor Range’s response to this review, I feel it is important to clarify that prior to travelling to collect the vehicle, I specifically raised concerns about potentially needing to return for unresolved work and was reassured both in writing and again during a telephone call on the morning of collection that all agreed preparation had been completed before I travelled.
This is why the later suggestion that I simply return the vehicle to Motor Range for remedial work does not address the core issue or the assurances originally provided prior to purchase. Given my experience to date, I no longer have confidence in returning the vehicle to Motor Range for further remedial work, nor do I believe I should have to.
There was no meaningful vehicle handover or walkthrough process. I was simply handed the keys at the desk, and left to locate the vehicle myself in the car park before beginning the long journey home.
I fully accepted that this was not a brand new vehicle. However, where cosmetic issues were specifically identified and I was assured they would be rectified prior to collection, I do not consider it unreasonable to expect those agreed works to have been completed properly, particularly on a vehicle purchased at this price point.
I would also note that, having since reviewed the service schedule documentation, the vehicle’s service was in fact due on 2 April 2026, shortly before collection on 4 April 2026. This makes the later suggestion that the vehicle was “not due” a service difficult to reconcile with the documentation provided.
In any event, my concern has always been based on the specific assurance given prior to collection that the vehicle would receive a full service, which was an important part of my decision to proceed with the purchase.

Well what can i say been to a few garages today, didn't have much in my price range didn't really go out their way for a sale, then your car showroom came up with alot of price range cars we were looking for, we were approached by a lovely gentleman Harris who went above and beyond for us, we looked and drove a few cars but my favourite 😍 was the black mokka really thought we wernt getting a car today I was happy with the service we received and now even happier we our new car 😊 😃

What a joke they got paid 4 weeks ago from my finance company to pay off the remaining finance on my car I part ex and it has still not been paid this is going to put a non payment on my credit rating as the several times I have spoken to them they just fob me off saying we will pay someone will ring you back and still they haven't done either. If I was you ide go somewhere else as the don't care about there customers one bit after they have got your money.
