We had a great time and experience on the boat. For my wife's birthday celebration.
It lived up to our expectation.

Jason was very helpful and handy. His help was the icing on the cake of the trip.
He had to rescue us twice 😄

Every penny spent is justified.

We look forward to returning soon.

My husband loves the sea having been involved in shipping and lived on different commercial ships. So I really wanted something very special on water for his birthday. We had a very beautiful memorable experience. Jason was very detailed in his training on how to move the boat, mooring and so on. He would check up on us if we need anything. Now the boat was literally the most beautiful on the water, inside it was super clean and contained everything. Kitchen had adequate utensils, cooker and so on. The lounge area has a nice fire place, wine, sofa bed. There is also another bed and other beds for kids.Bathroom had lot of hot water for shower and was really clean too. Overall it was the cleanliness, being equipped and customer service for me. When booking, book for more days to enjoy the place. You literally don't feel like going out cos it's really cozy and beautiful. Jason thank you for being considerate on pricing, being responsive all through the booking and our stay. A very big five star

What a lovely few days we have had aboard the Colleen Bawn. So many special touches including fresh flowers, logs for the burner and fairy lights and baubles making it feel Christmasy. Enjoyed mooring up at dusk and enjoying the comfy and cosy area watching television with the log burner keeping us warm. Jason was amazing and so informative and gave us good instructions on how to steer, open locks and other eventuality’s we may face. Would thoroughly recommend.

We have been on narrowboat holidays before but the Coleen Bawn is a lovely boat with all the touches of home that you never get on a hire boat. Jason was a great host and spent time to show us all the workings and operations of the boat. He was always quick to respond to any queries and offer advice.
The special touches such as fresh flowers and logs for the very cosy log burner were really appreciated.
We had a great time, learned a lot, went through many locks, some more challenging than others but had some lovely pub meals along the way and would love to do it all again.

Really fantastic experience! Jason helped us learn the boat and the locks and we had a very good time. He was communicative and flexible and very friendly.

We could only squeeze in a quick 3 night trip but it felt as if we were away for a lot longer. We had a very leisurely cruise to just north of Apsley where we turned at a winding hole immediately after bridge 151 and before Boxmoor Lock 64. We were worried as we still couldn't see it as we came under the bridge but it is there! The Paper Mill at Apsley was a great place to moor up and meet family for a Sunday afternoon roast. The Colleen Bawn was a dream, plenty of space for 4 adults and very well kitted out. Jason is an excellent communicator and if you are thinking of booking do it!

We absolutely loved our holiday on the Colleen Bawn. We went as a group of 5 with 2 kids (aged 7 and 4). The life jackets fitted the kids well. Jason is an amazing host who considers all the details. He was contactable throughout the trip and is really friendly and helpful. There is even a coffee machine onboard, the fresh flowers were a lovely touch too. Canal boating is such a lovely way to slow down and really enjoy living in the moment. The scenery on the Grand Union Canal is stunning and learning to work the locks and drive the boat is super fun. Jason took the time to make sure we were all comfortable before we set out on our adventure. If you’ve ever thought about a canal boat holiday I highly recommend that you give it a go and the Colleen Bawn is just perfect. I look forward to further holidays aboard in the future.

We spent a fantastic couple of weeks on the lovely Colleen Bawn. She’s a cut above other rental narrow boats with a very clever layout creating plenty of living space and storage.
Many thanks to Jason for a thorough but quick handover and for all the thoughtful added extras provided.
The fairy lights inside and out are Fab!

Had a fantastic week on the Colleen Bawn. We cruised both North and South from the base and the scenery is gorgeous in both directions. Jason was a perfect host and always available to answer our questions. The boat is absolutely stunning and, as the website says, puts fleet boats to shame.
Very well appointed and comfortable. Not to mention easy to pilot due to the bow thruster.
We would certainly like to come back one day.

We had the best time on Jason's boat and can't recommend the experience enough!  My partner and I have always talked about living on the canal, and decided to try it out this winter; so we booked Jason's lovely 'Colleen Bawn'. Mid winter was the perfect time, as the weather was super cold outside but super cosy inside the boat with the wood burner on!
As newbies on the canal, Jason made sure we were confident with the boat and doing the locks before leaving us to it, but he was always available if needed. As another reviewer has also written; Jason was available and reassuring, but without being at all intrusive, and it was reassuring to know his support was there should we need it.
With his creativity and care, Jason has created a really beautiful, warm, unique and lovely little home. There were also special little touches such as fresh flowers,  cakes and even a Christmas card for us when we arrived.  

We would wholeheartedly recommend Jason who was the best host ever; and his beautiful boat as a lovely unique break or holiday.  Thank you again Jason for such a memorable experience. Hope to see you again 

I must admit, I don’t always take the time to write reviews, but this time I feel compelled to share my experience.
Normally, I don’t use many words, but I can’t keep this account brief.

Our stay on Jason’s beautiful houseboat was nothing short of perfect.
This is not a regular vacation rental where you only see the host at the key handover, if at all.
From the moment we arrived, Jason exceeded all expectations with his authenticity, friendliness and genuine care for our experience. He anticipated our needs and addressed any questions or requests before we even had to ask.
Throughout our stay, Jason checked in to ensure everything was going smoothly, always striking the right balance of being caring and helpful without ever feeling intrusive.
His attention to detail and thoughtful touches truly made us feel welcome.

Oh, and to no forget the houseboat itself was an unforgettable experience.
Even though it was a narrowboat, it was giving us - a family of four kids and two adults - enough space and had everything we needed. We didn’t miss a thing and found it fully equipped, from the charming kitchen and bathroom to the digital Interieur with WIFI and Netflix. Jason provided all the necessary supplies for the wood-burning stove that added to the cozy atmosphere.

One of the highlights of our trip was the day Jason dedicated entirely to us, taking us on an exclusive boat trip on his 'Colleen Bawn' up and down the canal. This personalized experience was incredibly generous and added a special touch to our vacation.

We initially traveled for the Harry Potter Studios, but the houseboat turned out to be the real highlight and should have been our main destination.
The four days were far too short to fully enjoy the boat, and we now feel we need to return for a proper houseboat holiday.

If you’re looking for an unusual vacation and a host who goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable, look no further than Jason and his narrowboat for a floating holiday.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would love to return.

We had an amazing holiday on the Colleen Bawn. Jason was super-helpful and passionate about narrowboat life.
The boat is beautifully equipped and has a nice funky charm (the wood burner and fairy lights sold it to me immediately!). We were all novices but got the hang of things fairly quickly and people on the canal were lovely and helpful when we came unstuck or needed a bit of advice.
Locks are challenging at first but, once you get the hang of them, they’re quite straightforward and gave us a sense of great communication and teamwork.
We did three nights and I wish we’d booked for longer because it was a lovely chilled experience.
I’d recommend Jason and the Colleen Bawn to anyone – you’ll have a lovely time on the Grand Union.

Totally recommend a stay on the Coleen Bawn.The boat has everything you need and more . Feels very cosy with lots of mod cons like coffee machine , wifi , etc.
Jason gave us lots of clear instructions and was on hand when the hammer fell into the water whilst mooring 😬
We are a group of mature ladies and we had so much fun !! We stayed for 3 nights had lunch at Paper Mill.

Sehr schönes Boot und vor allem perfekte Betreuung durch Jason. Wer einen außergewöhnliches Erlebnis haben möchte, dem kann ich diese Tour nur empfehlen. Wir haben 46 Schleusen problemlos bewältigt. In 4 Tagen sind uns etwa ein Dutzend Boote entgegen gekommen, also sehr entspannt.

Jason,the owner of Colleen Bawn,went above and beyond for us.
He is an incredible teacher,we were shown the complete operation of the boat in the 3.5 hours he spent with us on day one.He made sure we were completely competent at handling the boat and working the locks,cleaning the propeller,emptying the bilge and greasing the shaft,and all it entails.
Also that we were happy with all the information given.
We were all complete novices,we ended up as an incredible team and mastered the boat,locks,navigation and the canal and all its life very well.
We were a family of 5/6 with 2 children 9&5,who loved their adventures.
Life jackets are provided and we’re used,so the children were safe and free to explore the rooftop and help at the locks.
You need to be fairly fit and able bodied,it’s hard work using the locks and controlling the boat in and out of locks safely
The boat itself is well equipped,the beds are quite tight,but you manage and are so worn out with the fresh air and exhilaration,that you fall asleep easily.
There were lots of extras included and a lovely bottle of fizz,fresh flowers and cakes to welcome us
Jason is always at the end of the phone for advise and help
Can completely and wholeheartedly recommend this holiday.It is one of life experiences that shouldn’t be missed

Had a fantastic few days in the Colleen Bawn with my family. It's so relaxing pootling along the canals and everyone is so friendly. Jason was so patient and helpful to us noobs that it was easy to get going and he was always on the end of the phone if we needed.

We had a wonderful break on the Colleen Bawn. There were three of us, for three nights, which was perfect for beginners! Jason was very helpful with showing us the ropes before we headed off, with plenty of handy hints including pubs to visit along the way. We all felt confident skippering the boat and working the locks, and Jason was available if we had any questions.
Colleen Bawn is a cosy canal boat, as expected, but has all the mod cons you could want, and we were very comfortable.
We would recommend My Floating Holiday to anybody thinking about a canal boat holiday.

We have just come back from an amazing week spent aboard the beautiful narrowboat "Colleen Bawn". It's a really well equipped and comfortable boat. The canal was a great mix of rural and urban landscapes and we had some lovely mooring spots. The bow thruster is a real bonus! Jason is really helpful and kind and made sure we were ok before setting off and whilst aboard. We managed to do about 23 miles in total. Lots of pubs on the way as well as places to top up groceries. Our dog Ben loved sitting and watching the towpath and saying hello to everybody. The locks were manageable with the 2 of us and not difficult for newbie boaters. Would highly recommend.
