I’m Natasha Johnson, and in the year 2000, I decided to change my life for the better and retrain as a fitness instructor. After doing the rounds in various fitness fields, in January 2011, I opened Zumba Thornbury with two classes a week – and it was just what Thornbury had been waiting for! An exciting, fun way to burn calories, all wrapped up in the joy and movement of dance. Within a few months I had put on additional classes and introduced a booking system, as it was proving so popular. I like to adapt to suit demand, so class schedules have evolved over the years to incorporate other exercise fields, such as Zumba® Toning, Zumba® Gold, Yoga-Lattes, Body Conditioning, Strong & Stable and more. During the pandemic I invested in technology so I could continue teaching via Zoom, and to my surprise this is still a popular option today, as it means my clients can join classes from wherever they are in the world! In July 2025, I won the Heart & Soul Award for the Best Regional Instructor for the South West of England, which means so much to me knowing that people value the hard work I put into all I do. I am passionate about hosting and participating in community and charity events. I also host other instructors from around the world, who hold masterclasses locally. For me, just as important as the exercise is the social aspect of classes and the friendships which come from that. I hold social events every year that all my clients are welcome to attend.

Natasha is the best
I have been training and attending Zumba classes with Natasha for 16 years and she has never failed to give a great class. She has an amazing ability to encourage and motivate us all to do our best but at the same time ensure we have fun and laugh throughout.

Natasha always makes the classes so…
Natasha always makes the classes so much fun and brings smiles to everyone’s face. She is always very welcoming to people new to the class. You certainly don’t feel like you’re exercising when dancing to great music and choreography. I’d definitely recommend attending a class to find out why they’re such fun.

Full of energy and enthusiasm
Natasha is full of energy and fun which I find is contagious. I look forward to, and enjoy every zumba class I have attended. She works so hard to mix it up and make it enjoyable for all. Not to mention it gives us all a good workout.

Natasha is amazing
Natasha is amazing. I wish I had her energy. Her Zumba classes are for everyone as she doesn’t get upset when you can’t do all the moves and instead is encouraging and entertaining all at the same time. Definitely worth giving it a go. I always feel good after a Zumba session with Tasha.
