If I buy the hearing aids I want with my NationsHearing benefit, NationsHearing will charge $7,500 - 2,000 = $5,500. If I pay cash to the audiologist for the same hearing aids, the total cost would be $5,000. It costs more to use their so-called benefit. It is a complete scam.

I experienced several years of poor customer service. I make calls to order supplies, write to our union representative who makes great efforts to get necessary supplies and reimbursements. There is no consistency in service and claims that future orders will be better, fall on deaf ears! Claims for better service are documented by someone who relies on better service.

I was required to use nations hearing for my hearing benefit with Aetna Medicare advantage. Nations hearing is a retail hearing aid seller, and although their staff is friendly and trained in house, they are not audiologists, and they do not have adequate skills to properly evaluate a persons otological needs. The hearing benefit offered through Aetna appears generous at first glance ($4k) but the actual value of the aids that are sold are on the low end and unless you want to pay an additional $2-$4k for an upgraded pair of aids, you will receive something pretty basic that would likely sell retail for a couple hundred dollars. The marketing agreement between Aetna and nations hearing is not beneficial to customers, and the price is so inflated that people think they are getting a high end set of hearing aids, which is completely false. Suffice it to say, you get what you pay for.

I am a member of the Choctaw nation I have a gov issued Tribal indian card. they provide help with medical benefits , glasses , dental , hearing aides ect ect
All I had to do was have Nations hearing aids provide my invoice and their W9.
They sent the invoice but refused the W9. I have asked for the person that can provide the Choctaw Nation with this information and they cant do that they dont know and will not send the W9 ???? I was told this is a red flag with this company for not providing the information to Choctaw Nation so I can get the benefit offered . Not helpful dodging getting the W9

NationsHearing is the provider-group chosen by Aetna Ins.
Aetna offers a fixed amount toward hearing aids, but then also restricts members to using NationsHearing.
My experience with NationsHearing was very unsatisfactory! I had 2 visits. I told the provider that I wanted to use my Aetna benefits to buy a new pair of hearing aids. I explained to the provider about my hearing loss history as well as my history with hearing aids (2 different pair, so far). I also told the provider about what was and was not working with my current aids - one set 5-6 years old, the other about 18 mos. old.
The provider never did any testing, brushed me off when I tried to explain about my Auditory Processing Disorder Diagnosis, automatically assumed that I only wanted the basic aids covered by my Aetna plan and didn't schedule any follow-up. My 2 previous hearing aids had rechargeable batteries. The ones this provider gave me did not!!!
I am a retired mental healthcare clinician with 40+ years experience. This was one of the most poorly conducted provider contacts I have ever had!
Since this experience, I have explored the online reputation of "Nations Hearing", and found that it mirrors my actual experience: Very Poor!
I won't be going back to that provider, so, my Aetna Hearing Benefit is of absolutely no use to me!!!
If Aetna is going to provide a set-amount Hearing Aid Benefit, why restrict usage to just one provider-group!!!
