I've used NexGen twice now, and both times the organization of my IPC was excellent. I must say that my situation is a bit unusual. I needed an IPC on a B767 simulator. While there was still a B767 simulator available in Brisbane in 2024, this year there isn't. I contacted Mike, and he quickly found a way to rent a simulator abroad and negotiated with a TRE for a B767. The latter was especially difficult, as such examiners are rare in Australia. Mike managed the process from the very beginning, providing supporting documents for a Japanese visa, coordinating the simulator rental time with the examiner's availability, providing me with the necessary materials for the oral check, and conducting a preparatory session on the simulator with me. I want to especially highlight the preparatory session. Despite my long break from flying, Mike did everything he could to make me feel confident during the check ride. He immediately spotted my mistakes and clearly explained and showed me how to correct them. He's a top-notch professional who truly values ​​his reputation. I very grateful to Mike. I completed sim prep with Nexgen prior to my Air Japan interview. Having previously flown in Japan I know the importance of the simulator evaluation component of the screening. In the lead up to arriving into Japan, Mike provided excellent preparation material and was available to chat about questions over the phone. In hindsight the practice in the sim made the difference between success and failure. Highly recommend this training for anyone truly motivated to succeed in the screening process.

I completed my training in April 2026 with NextGen Aviation and successfully passed the AJX screening thanks to the excellent support from the team.
Before travelling to Tokyo, I had a video call with Mike which was extremely helpful for guiding my revision and making sure I focused on the right areas.
Once in Tokyo, I completed two simulator sessions with Gerry. He struck exactly the right balance in terms of pressure and preparation, which is important as the process is challenging. He pushed me where needed while keeping everything constructive and focused.
I would strongly recommend doing as many training sessions as possible before the screening. The preparation made a real difference, and everything in the assessment was as expected on the day.
Gerry also shared a lot of valuable advice throughout the process. I genuinely don’t think I would have passed without the support and professionalism of the team at NextGen Aviation. Highly recommended.

Whilst I had prepared thoroughly on my own, there is no doubt that the investment I made in doing the training was the difference between passing and failing. The assessment itself is far more involved than any other that I have experienced. The Nexgen instructors not only have a deep understanding of what is expected in the Air Japan assessment, but also bring real-world experience from their own careers in Japan, which adds significant value. The process from organising, brief and the sim was very professional. The instructor was incredibly experienced, and managed to make sure we get the most exposure to the process as possible. During the sim he picked up my weak points very quickly and I could notice a great difference from the start of the session. Had a lot of fun, and learned a lots of valuable skills.
