Nigel at NGT Training was fantastic. He was patient yet assertive. He knew what I was capable of and encouraged me to reach my full potential. Through his training and guidance I passed my CAT CE on and off road tests and CPC module 4 first time. I would recommend him to anyone who wishes to drive the big guns!

Nigel is a wonderful instructor. From NGT Driver training I’ve passed reverse in 1st attempt and main road practice in 2nd attempt. Price is also reasonable. I will recommend to family, friends & those drivers who are not successfully passing their practical.

I would highly reccomend nigel if your looking for class 2 or class 1 lessons. I passed my c + e with him. He has over 35 years of experience in hgv and is a fantastic trainer. He was the cheapest in price out of the 10 companies i rang in leicester and offered me more hours of training than any other company. He is very flexible on lesson times aswell as on some days i had to start later due to dropping my son to school. Just overall great guy with tons of experience in hgv driving and would definatly reccomend him to anybody who is looking to pass class 2 or class 1

cant fault nigel in any shape or form. He was an amazing teacher and it was a brilliant experience. I almost felt like it was impossible to fail! Highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn to drive class 1 and 2.

Passed my class 2 first time. Being 18 I was quite nervous to do my class 2 but turns out Nigel is a really supportive and understanding guy. Made me feel comfortable had a good laugh on the road. He helped me navigate through Leicester his instructions are very clear. Even clearer when you’re just about to hit a post on your first day 🫣 haha. But overall an extremely positive experience. Defiantly recommend to anyone who is nervous about doing their class1/class2 aswell as their cpc training to. Defiantly be coming back to do my class 1 in a year or so. keep up the good work

I had my training with Nigel recently and my experience with him was very good.He knows the business well and his training methods are very good although a little critical at times but thats all part of the learning process.

Just passed with Nigel - cat C no faults. Nice guy, very knowledgeable, enjoyed my training with him. Made me feel comfortable when out. Highly recommended.

I’m seeing a lot of positive reviews regarding Nigel and NGT training but that’s far from the truth. My experience with Nigel and NGT training was horrible. So I finished all my theory tests and was ready for my practical training. I went through training agency and paid for a training package. They referred me to Nigel. From the get go I told him I’m not the easiest to teach and I just need his patience and understanding with me. “Oh don’t worry I could teach a monkey to drive these things” he said which filled me with confidence.

Day 1 went well, he seemed really nice and we just did some light training. The thing I liked about it, he threw me in at the deep end. But as the days went on he began to change and become aggressive and inpatient towards me. And HGV training isn’t cheap at all. I paid 4,500 for all the training, so you expect to enjoy it right? No, wrong. He would raise his voice at me for slight mistakes and I’m the type of person that if someone is raising their voice at me especially when driving a big truck, I’m going to get stressed and lose concentration which is what exactly happened. He used to say that “motivation is earnt” and would say that I’m the problem. We had a few arguments over the days and we both agreed to get on and enjoy it. Day 4 I thought he finally learnt and changed his ways. He was talkative, he was calm, he was patient and didn’t raise his voice when I made a mistake. I actually started to enjoy the training and we were getting on well. I passed my reversing exam with no issues which allowed us to spend more time on the road. I was getting more confident as the hours went on but then I made a little mistake at a mini roundabout and he screamed at me and I mean scream. Made me jump and stressed out. My heart was no longer in it. It was a few days out before my test and all my confidence was gone. I made up an excuse and said I had to go home 1 hour early before our scheduled finish just so I could relax. His training and his attitude were beginning to affect my health. I would get home with chest pain i was so stressed.

So come the day before my test, he said “let’s forget about yesterday and have a good day today, let’s finish strong” I agreed. We started off well and I felt good even though my test was the next morning. I remember making a tiny mistake, being too close to the kerb. Of course he yelled “get over”! I let it go because I thought if I don’t let him get to me and just try and block him out I can stay relaxed and focused. Of course I was wrong, 30 minutes later or so. There was a roundabout, he said turn right… as I got onto the roundabout my trailer wheels were on the island slightly obviously not where they should be. Of course he yelled again but louder “what you doing over there?!” “This is easy” I said it’s easy when you know how. I don’t feel like we spent enough time on roundabouts and I voiced this to him and he brushed it off. I lost it with him, the days of the arguments and the shouting finally got the better of me. I told him I was done and wanted to end the session. He said “you’re not going anywhere we’re training” so basically forcing me to continue. I told him I was stressed. 5 minutes went by of back and forth arguing. He said to take a break and relax. I called my girlfriend and broke down to her. I didn’t want Nigel to see so I went around the corner. After the phone call I went back to the truck and told Nigel I’m done and I’m serious I want to go back now. He could see I was distressed. He offered to drive and I agreed. Not a word was spoken the whole way back. The worrying thing was my test was the next morning and this is how the final day ended. I said I didn’t want to do the test, my confidence was gone completely and wasn’t comfortable. He said okay we'll use the day as training instead but the damage was already done.

I got home and called the agency I went through everything and they couldn’t believe it. They said they would take action but I never heard anything back. They tried convincing me to do the test but I just couldn’t. So I decided to take a few months off just to re cooperate. I had a holiday coming up to Lanzarote. All of this happened in august. November came round and I thought now is the time to try again. My reversing pass certificate expired in February 2024 so I had 3 months to pass so no pressure. I went with another company explained everything that happened with Nigel. Explained that I needed patience and time and I passed 1st time. No issues, they were brilliant. I just wish I went with them first time round because I had to spent another 1,800 on training but it was worth it because I am now a fully qualified class 1 hgv driver and now looking for work.

I think Nigel is very stuck in his ways and very old fashioned. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND him or NGT training. He made me feel uncomfortable throughout the week and he is very unprofessional.

Absolute legend!! I've just gone from car to class 1 using Nigel @NGT, passed first time and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better trainer, he is a credit to himself, his business, and the industry in general and I'm so happy I chose him to train me! And would recommend him to anybody thinking about taking this career path

Absolutely 1st class trainer! In just over a week Nigel had got me to the point where I felt 100% condifent going in to my final driving test. Can't thank him enough for guiding me to pass on my first attempt! 100% recommend to anyone looking to learn to drive class 1 or 2 HGV! 👍

Nigel and derek helped me to complete my hgv class 2 in just 4 days! They were both very clear with instructions and this made me feel very confident and enthusiastic. Absolutely fantastic service whihc lead me to pass my test with zero faults etc. Thankyou so much ngt for all your help and advuce along my journey.

Nigel and Del took a complete novice and got me my class 1 first time pass with only 1 fault thank you guys highly recommended from me you both put me at ease and made the training fun and gave the confidence to pass 😀

NGT is the best driving school
Nigel is a great instructor, he alway make u feel comfortable, attentive and easy to get on with. I have passed my Class 1 training with NGT within 1 week of training and would definitely recommend to join NGT.
