NiceNIC does not support illegal activity, including the use of domains for drug-related abuse or other unlawful purposes. Reports of this nature are taken seriously and are not treated as unimportant.

At the same time, registrar-level action must be based on what can be verified at the domain level and on the actions available to a registrar in the specific case. That said, if your experience was that you repeatedly reported these domains and received no meaningful response, we understand why that would feel unacceptable.

To address the main point directly: requests for domain-specific details are not made to delay action. They are made because registrar-level decisions must be based on verifiable facts for each domain, the current status of the reported activity, and the scope of action available to a registrar in that case.

A grouped report may indicate a broader pattern, but that does not mean every domain can be treated as permanently suspendable on the same timeline without review. A demand for suspension within 24 hours is also not, by itself, the standard that determines registrar action.

NiceNIC does not protect cybercrime, and reports are not dismissed simply because they involve multiple domains or coordinated allegations. At the same time, we do not treat a domain as resolved or permanently suspend it based only on an assertion, a deadline, or a threat of escalation. The decision must follow a review of the evidence and the applicable obligations.

We understand why this process may feel too slow from the outside, especially in urgent cases. If you are willing, please share the relevant case references with us directly. We are prepared to review the handling again and provide a clearer explanation of what was assessed and why.
