Nordikinder is a premium online store owned by the family company Rombello d.o.o. (founded in 2018 and based in Izola, Slovenia) and created by the husband-and-wife team Elena and Roman Babakin. We also have a three-year-old son, Alexander, who can be considered the main inspiration, ideologist, and chief product tester for our team. We have been selling online since 2018 and know how to deliver the best shopping experience—from selecting high-quality products and reliable suppliers to providing excellent customer support. As parents, we understand firsthand the needs of both children and parents. That’s why we have put together a carefully curated selection of products essential for families—ranging from soft and educational toys (because every parent wants their child to develop and learn in the best possible way) to clothing and footwear made from premium materials, as well as furniture and accessories from European manufacturers. A few years ago, we lived in Lithuania and came to appreciate the commitment of Baltic artisans to using eco-friendly materials, the high quality of their craftsmanship, and the beautiful Nordic design—all offered at fair prices. That’s why many of our suppliers and brands come from the Baltic region. We live and work in Europe. We love Europe and the people who live here. We respect our customers, which is why we work exclusively with EU-based brands and suppliers. We do not resell goods from Chinese marketplaces. Instead of mass-market imports from Chinese online platforms, we offer only products we personally use, give to our child, and trust—products made in Europe by people who live and work alongside us. We believe that the work of people living in Europe should be valued and fairly rewarded. They deserve to live with the hope that tomorrow will be at least as good as today—for themselves and for their children. We are passionate about quality. Most of our products are made locally using the finest materials, renewable energy sources, and fair compensation for European workers (often small family-owned businesses). These products are backed by a quality guarantee, and many of them are items we personally use and wear. Our mission is simple: to offer the best alternative to products from anonymous mass-production chains and to prove that online shopping doesn’t have to mean selling mediocre goods. The high-quality products in our catalog are predominantly sourced from European suppliers and comply with all EU regulations and standards. In rare cases where items are sourced from outside the EU, they still meet strict quality requirements. This applies to a limited range of licensed toys—we know that children love them, too. These products are legally imported into the EU, certified according to all safety standards, and sourced only from official distributors who pay all required taxes. Fair compensation is paid to their creators as well. All of this contributes, even in small ways, to making life in Europe better—day by day.
