Was a member for over 4yrs, had to leave due to over crowding at the old dereham site, rude kids, and a staff member shouting at me for having to nudge equipment into a safe non wobbling position as I have hip issues and the instability presented a risk to me, the staff member as small as he was unfortunately went way over the top yelling at me publicly, staff and management didnt do much to support a long standing pay customer so I not making ignorant people even richer! The little boy who was highly agressive really severely put me off and not been the a gym since, he had no awareness of mental health or anxiety whatsoever nor does this gym owner, as much as he claims he does he only knows how to support his own lavish lifestyle

Overall, the company is terrible. Upper management only care about the money and not the members or staff.

A few of the gyms are hitting rock bottom with all the staff leaving due to terrible communication and promises that are not being put into place.

Attleborough for example, the last proper refurbishment was nearly 4 years ago.
Moving the gym layout does not change the terrible kit that is inside that most definitely needs to be upgraded.

And keeping old pieces of kit out the back of the building in the car park is not a good look.

Each gym should have its own membership price. I recommend putting Attleborough down to £10 a month as it’s not worth the current price whatsoever.

Yet again, head office only care about the money and they are screwing over their staff and only supporting the managers. As well as apprentices getting promised certain hours to gain PT clients after qualifying or room for progression within the business and none of it actually happens. They leave and get screwed over.

In summary, you’re getting scammed. You should go somewhere else :)

NR Fitness have taken over in Caister. The price of my pedicure has gone up 25% and they want money up front with no refunds for cancellation. The price of a 30 minute pedicure is now £30. This isn't London!

NR Wymondham has a fantastic team who make the gym a genuinely welcoming place. I’ve attended classes with Shaun, Jamie, Morgan, Glen and Toby, and they all bring great energy, professionalism and approachability. They consistently engage with members, offer help when needed, and create a positive atmosphere that has really boosted my confidence in the gym.

The apprentice, Jack, is always friendly and welcoming, as are the other PTs. The staff as a whole are a real credit to the gym.

The only downside is that the manager doesn’t always come across as particularly enthusiastic, which can affect the overall feel of the environment. However, the commitment and attitude of the wider team more than make up for this.

If I had one small suggestion, it would be to improve the music in the main gym, as it doesn’t always match the otherwise upbeat vibe. (The music in the classes is great!)

Overall, the staff make NR Wymondham a great place to train

In my experience Dereham gym is very good. In particular I want to say how professionally the classes I attend have been run. The instructors are experts at what they do and very positive and encouraging. The Les Mills Body Combat classes and Beginners Spin in the evenings keep me coming back every week so my attendance is consistent now whereas when just doing weights it was sporadic. Les Mills Body Balance is a very good daytime class I attend when I can - leaves you feeling pleasantly stretched and relaxed.
Beginners spin includes sprints & hill climbs which was perfect for high intensity interval type work outs. The Combat class is like an aerobics class ( everyone in their own space) to music but based around punches and kicks and a lot more so you get a good all round workout - it's pretty easy to pick it all up by following the instructor. Motivating beats and lights!
The gym equipment and general cleanliness are all good - they've just got some new treadmills, steppers and bikes. My son has been going for a few years with mates and has seen great improvements building muscle, never any complaints.
The only downside (at least to 'older folk' is the in-house generic gym music and distracting screens but I guess most gyms are like this nowadays. Take headphones!
Out of the many classes I've tried I've found 2 I love so that gets me to the gym 4 times a week minimum.

Thetford NR fitness need to think about the staff they hire and advertise on the social media, was looking at joining went for a trail day and done some online research prior to getting a membership and disgusted to firstly see a PT named Will train a lady clearly his client do his own work out next to her basically ignoring her then when she rested use the machine she was using still while being payed to coach her and entertain his client. Then doing my online research to see what other PTs were available come across his public PT profile and find almost naked photos of him with blurred out penis/genital area. For a gym advertising for a safe work out space from the ages of 12 and up, under 16 being minors, having that as an influencer in the gym and a member of staff being so sexual and so accessible to the members of the gym disgusts me. I hope NR fitness sees this and the issues and rectify this.
After speaking to members of the gym to ask if the gym if worth the money many women saying they avoid his classes and when he’s working due to the about he makes them feel like prey. Personally will not enter the gym with a man like that working there. There is a difference between progress pictures and sexual exploitation.

I am extremely disappointed in NR Gym Watton.
They do not care about their members and clearly show this!
The volume level of the music is ridiculous, you cannot hear yourself think let alone speak to anyone.

They send existing members deals which are only available for new members, they do not care once they get your through the door, they only want your money!
Trying to cancel membership they just ignore your emails. Absolutely atrocious company!

The branch in Attleborough, they are a bunch of scammers! and are seriously asking for it, and I shall give it to them big time! I have just been on the phone with the police, later with the citizens advice, I will also contact the local newspapers and even go on tv if I have to.
Why??!!
Because, I cancelled my membership with them 4 months ago, and they still try to charge me EVERY single month!
Luckily there wasn’t any money in, when they tried to charge me, but they should never charge at all!!! I stopped using their gym 4 months ago, yet they still try to charge me, and I have both spoken to them on tithe phone, 5 times and also written them emails. They are oh so polite on the phone, and assure that everything is ok, and that I will NOT be charged.
Yet…EVERY month it’s the same. My account is in minus, because they have tried to charge me.
To say that I am furious is a MASSIVE understatement😡🤬😡🤬😡
I am coming for them now! Big time! All guns blazing! They will be made famous for all the wrong reasons!!

Brilliant gym! Fairly priced and good equipment. Cant go wrong.

****Nr wymondham *****, excellent clean gym,the staff are approachable as they spend time on the floor speaking to the clients, if you ask they are happy to explain/show how to operate the machines and different techniques to hit your goals. Classes are always popular especially the spin classes.. great staff plenty of motivation and lots of knowledge between the workers!

I have been a member of this gym for approximately 5 years and have definitely noticed some changes lately, and with a heavy heart I’d say not for the better.
The staff turnover appears to be quite high and with the lack of diversity and approachability among the instructors it is difficult to create any kind of rapport. There also seems to be a certain inattentive attitude among the staff which is fine for the likes of myself who wish to just get on with their workout, but is worrying when the school aged gym users descend upon the facility. I have often seen these younger users (unsure of age, but arriving in school uniform) dressed inappropriately for their activity, using equipment incorrectly which could cause injury or in the best case scenario turning to their phones to find instructions.
The cleanliness also leaves a huge amount to be desired; the sun beds are often dusty/dirty with overflowing bins, the ladies changing area, shower and toilets are also not clean. As of today (6/6/23) one is completely unusable with the seat hanging off, while the other is soiled.
There is however a very good range of equipment and I understand this is due to be updated soon which is excellent news; excited to see what new things are coming and how the renovation goes! Hopefully a lick of paint and good carpet clean will also be implemented.
I have added an extra star to this review as the change to 24 hour access was a blessing as it is far quieter at night. Often during peak times, there is no proactive efforts to ensure users are not leaving their belongings on/near machines for extended periods etc thus making a fluid, effective workout difficult.
The other members all in all are wonderful and a good crowd, there is very little posturing or obnoxious behaviour and that is a huge bonus. Not once has another member put a dampener on my experience with NR Wymondham.
What was once a gym that felt welcoming and a pleasure to attend has now rather become a chore, although for the price that cannot be argued. Where they used to - at least seemingly - care about their members mental and physical health alongside providing a very personable service, it has now become more of a “cookie cutter” scenario which is a shame.

Children can go from age 12 upwards.

One best gyms cause not all gyms now have a boxing bag or gloves and not all gyms have an upstairs and downstairs area and back area this one does.
This gym is so spaced out some gyms haven't got so much space.
This gym has loads of some handy equipment like treadmills for example but others it may only have 1 x or 2 x pieces equipment of same item but other times maybe more depending on what equipment it is.
I am a member and my son is and we have both been members now around roughly 5 weeks or just over. My son signed up 3 years from 12 to 15 years eith autism, pda, anxiety issues, selective mutism, feet issue called out toeing... so this is very important to me him joining gym and important for him I feel.
I as a member have signed up to the gym for 1 year. I referred a friend and got a month extra for free. I am disappointed though as I paid 250 for the year and now they have lowered prices for the year for membership for an adult to 199. I feel I should of been offered same offer. I paid 140 a year for my son to have a full membership x 3 years and myself a full year all upfront when we joined. We, signed up to a 7 day pass and ended up joining on first day of getting a 7 day pass which means if we had of waited till end month our membership we purchased would of last longer but because we got a 7 day free pass I believe it should of been extended anyway straight away for this reason but it wasn't.

The NR Gym that I use has a big range of equipment in it and lots of rooms with different gym equipment in there. Staff are always very friendly and helpful if you need to ask them anything. There are lots of different rooms avilable to use ( a yoga room, spinning room, boxing room, weight-lifting room, and a general room with things like treadmils, etc)
It's a brilliant gym.

Lovely, relaxed and friendly gym. Great classes too. Joined in October having spent years doing hiit classes. Never been to a gym before then and was a little apprehensive but no need!

I would highly reccomend NR Gyms. All the instructors are enthuastic, friendly and approachable. It’s a non judgmental non clicky gym. Over 40 classes to choose from a week you can’t go wrong. Best atmosphere ever!

Friendly and inclusive gym. Staff are genuinely interested to help you achieve your goals whatever they are and they make you feel really welcome - whatever shape and size you are. Great offering of varied classes which I love. Membership fees excellent value.

By far the best gym I have been to. They have had my loyalty for 3 years since I first walked in and they knew my name! If you want to be empowered, challenged and supported by an amazing team then this is your sign to join up!
