NF obscures their own disclaimer
Michael Greger MD overtly uses his degree to give medical advice on various topics with hundreds of videos on his own website Nutritionfacts.org and YouTube. Clearly people believe they are listening to a practicing physician who gives free medical advice judging from most comments under his videos and even positive comments here. There are no disclaimers anywhere on his videos or youtube I can find. Yet hiding on his own website TOS it says: "Nutrition Facts. org does not provide medical advice". When this is put into a comment under a video it is deleted repeatedly even though it does not violate any TOS. They appear to intentionally hide their own disclaimer. Refusing to put the disclaimer at the beginning of each video and burying it in the TOS of his website when he also posts on youtube is dishonest and likely illegal in most states. He wants the respect and attention of a doctor but is just an internet influencer churning out videos for monetary gain that he and his organization do not stand behind if someone is injured or killed by it's advice. Michael Greger's alleged medical practice listed on plantrician.org claims to be in Maryland but only lists a P.O.box, has an Oakland California phone number, and is named Nutritionfacts.org which is not a medical office.
The most honest nutrition information you can find.
Dr. Greger not only provides an excellent analysis of the topics he discusses, he ALWAYS provides references supporting everything he says.
As vegan since 1967 always healthâŠ
As vegan since 1967 always health conscious no alcohol or smoking I am now dealing with high blood pressure and a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, neverthe less probably leading to a very long life without levothyroxine! . A vegan as I will have nothing do with the systemic cruelty inevitable in producing affordable animal products. I think for those who are only concerned with optimum health only adding a small quantity of the highest quality meat to an otherwise Vegan diet,no dairy products. B12 essential supplement and D advisable, make friends with a hunter :-) or purchase fish from clean waters or make sure there is an iodine dietary source not having one for sure the cause of my issues, a couple of sheets of nori a day the best way.
I am a huge fan of Dr Greger
I am a huge fan of Dr Greger. His information is so good. I made many changes in my lifestyle after watching his video and that has helped me to reverse my lifestyle diseases. I have never felt so healthy in my life after following vegan diet !

His BS pops up on computer and I read it, but he won't allow a response from a better man from the '40's who is not vegan.
People want to know how a man can have no cold virus or flu virus since the 1950's and how to fight off sarcopenia and grey hair at 76; not what a little bald guy from the '70's says!!!

Cherry-picked information and misrepresented studies
Dr Greger has an inherently religious or cult-like bias to a certain diet. He has a tendency to completely dismiss other diets (eg. FODMAP), despite there being a lot of sound scientific information behind them.
While he has some good information and is very good at communicating it, he selectively ignores information which does not back up his viewpoint. His website should really be called âcherry-picked nutrition factsâ.
Greger's overall M.O. is that he uses lots of observational studies (which are considered low-tier evidence because of the correlation/causation problem) linking an animal food to a health problem, but if the same studies find a positive or neutral result for a different animal food, or a negative result for a plant food, he just ignores it. When diets low in animal foods produce health, he also uses these findings to shill for veganism (no animal foods at all), while using the nebulous weasel word "plant-based."
Anyone following his diet must take daily B12 supplements to stay healthy - the reason being, he has removed every single natural source of B12. If you need to take nutritional supplements, then your diet is deficient in the nutrients it needs to survive and thrive - pretty simple. There are plenty of other safer diets out there that have been well researched that will improve your health. Talk with your dietician or nutritionist.
His advice should be taken with a grain of salt and a good dose of caution.
Vitamin B12 supplements
What page of ' How Not To Die " early version , refers to the importance of taking Vitamin B12 supplements?

Brilliant science communication
This website is incredibly helpful for navigating the confusing world of nutrition science. Dr Gregor is a brilliant communicator as he explains scientific studies in a way that the general public can understand. He just lays out the evidence for us so we can make informed decisions. I do have a background in science and I read scientific papers for fun and I've checked on his sources to make sure he was communicating them accurately. He is one of the only nutrition doctors that I trust as most are just making content will sell for profit. The website is non-commercial and non-profit as well as his books (all proceeds are donated to charity!) and Daily Dozen app. I've been using this site for years now and it's been so helpful for making sound nutrition decisions. No more fad diets!
Brilliant evidence based nutrition!
I have applied most of Dr Gregerâs findings to my own life with great success. I have no heart disease, type 2 diabetes and am living an enjoyable life. His videos are brilliantly thought out.
I find NutritionFacts.org to be a veryâŠ
I find NutritionFacts.org to be a very reliable site for science based information unlike most other similar websites I have found.
Truth about arsenic was precious.
I am at Weimar University studying under Dr Neil Nedley and a collection of distinguished practitioners. I have been on a plant-based diet for 40 years and find my experience matches the science on this channel and the research presented in classes here. And the research on arsenic and turmeric is super. (Who that scientist is who said in a review that persons eating like like me need supplemental iron, b12, and aminos, I don't know. But his opinions are so outdated. And plant-based diet rich in vegetables has all the aminos needed.
Excellent source for a clear overview of the current science.
Logical, plain language reviews of published science. Asks the right questions. Critically evaluates the studies on each topic. You can see the original studies for yourself. When conclusions canât be drawn, he says so. Practical and useful. Unbiased.
Mediterranean or Icelandic diets give longevity.
As a scientist myself, this "research" is biased.
Arguing for a plant only diet as a cure all, is misunderstanding human metabolism and claiming something it cannot deliver.
If you only eat plants you will have to supplement with Vit B12, iron and certain amino acids.
Eating a mediterranean, Japanese or Icelandic diet has far more evidence of longevity.
Amazing
Amazing. Covers almost any nutrition related topic in depth based on the best available scientific evidence.
Life changing
Hilarious that the negative reviews state that he doesn't site sources. His organization and book goes through literally tens of thousands of studies every year. I can only assume the negative reviews come from biased employees of certain industries, or they've never actually read a single thing he has written and are just turned off my having to face the reality that what they are eating is probably killing them.
Excellent resource for nutrition info
Excellent resource for nutrition info. Meticulously presented with double-blind, placebo controlled research. Love sharing these bite-size video's. My only complaint is Dr. Greger's contrived speaking style and including his mug in every video - unnecessary.
The information presented stays current with the latest published studies
The information presented is based on current science. While the primary conclusion is that a vegan promotes better overall health and can aid in preventing illness. As new studies arise, recommendations can and have changed, even if they contradict prior advice. This willingness to avoid a dogmatic approach is helpful in our quest for better health.
Can't argue with facts
One of the best - if not THE best - nutrition sites on the internet. Evidence-based, they cite all of their findings. It is clear a LOT of work and research has gone into bringing this to us. Very impressed
Poor science
Poor, unsupported scientific conclusions lacking causation. It appears somewhat ideological to me.
