I attended Mental Health First Aid training with Oakleaf in May 2022. Dan, the trainer, was brilliant - covering a wide range of challenging topics sensitively and with a training style that kept us engaged and learning throughout the 2 day course. A lot of information was covered, and I left the course with confidence in my ability to support colleagues (and others), and a much stronger understanding of different ways in which mental ill health can affect all of us. I would strongly recommend the course to everyone.

I have just completed my Mental Health First Aid training through Oakleaf. I now have a tool kit and knowledge to help support others suffering with their mental health. The training was intense but I have learnt so much. I loved the variety of learning styles too from slides, videos through to group exercises. Dan Ford our instructor was amazing - really skilled at reading the room, remembering our name and giving us appropriate examples throughout the 2 days. I have been raving about it every since!

I recently partook in the MHFA training course hosted by Oakleaf. The course was really eye-opening, and Dan, our trainer, was incredible - really welcoming and supportive!! I will definitely be recommending it to others. Thank you Jen for letting me be involved!

I found this course so interesting and eye opening. I thought I knew a fair amount about mental health but after this attending this 2 day course, I now know so much more. I feel like by taking part on this course I will be able to really help others around me and also have a better awareness of my own mental health. As self - care is also very important. Dan who delivered the course was amazing!

Myself and two of my colleagues took part in the 2 day Mental Health First Aid Course arranged by Oakleaf. Before going into the course we all felt a little out of our depth when it comes to helping people that might be struggling with their mental health. However now we feel a lot more confident in assisting someone who may be in crisis or struggling with their mental health. It can be a very taboo topic and something that a lot of us feel intimidated to approach but it is a very important one and something that a large number of people struggle with. It was a great course, one I would definitely recommend to take part in if you have the opportunity to.

Oakleaf is a great charity that we support and look forward to many more amazing opportunities to help when and where we can. They host great fundraisers and do some great work for people, such a fantastic charity that we are proud to support.

Recently had an ottoman recovered by Oakleaf. Professional, friendly service and a great end result! I'm really pleased and would thoroughly recommend using them. Very competitively priced with the added bonus of knowing that you're supporting the Oakleaf community!

I could not recommend this course more. Daniel was a fantastic instructor with a great balance of ensuring we had covered the course material as well as allowing time for everyone to share their thoughts and ask questions. It was a very open group in which everyone felt comfortable - which was probably down to Daniel's ability to create a relax atmosphere - even over zoom!

The course covered a lot of information in just 2 days and any further material could be accessed from the manual that we were given. The manual has a vast amount of information on mental health and a list of useful mental health services. The exercises were clever and effective and encouraged interaction with everyone on the course. I have definitely learnt a lot about mental health and all of its capacities and have grown in confidence in how to approach a mental health crisis.

Oakleaf organised for myself and 10 others to become Mental Health First Aiders in a 2 day online course.

It was good to meet others with different experiences of mental health and learn from each other. MHFA provided course material that was helpful and informative. This was explained and taught effectively by the instructor Dan.

I would highly recommend the course and it gives me a new level of understanding of the great that Oakleaf does in our community.

I attended the 2 days Mental Health First Aider course, expertly delivered by Dan. The content was excellent: relevant and in just the right amount of detail. There were 11 of us attending, which worked well on zoom. The break-out rooms were a good idea and the videos too. It was very much a session where we could contribute and ask questions and Dan managed the group well, making sure we took away the information we needed for our own settings.

I feel that this is the way forward: education about mental health and how to help facilitate the process of getting help for those who need it. Supporting the mental health of our team will I am sure prove to make good business-sense and help us to retain our valued staff. Thanks, a great course.

Setting aside what a brilliant charity this is, have no fear, the upholstery team are magicians! They turned our very tired old chair into something quite amazing!

I totally recommend them and urge you to have a conversation about reinventing your old furniture before you think you have to throw it out.

Jen Clay delivered an excellent training course for our Leadership team, line managers and mental health champions. Despite being forced to do virtually due to COVID, Jen was an excellent trainer and as delegates we forgot that we were remote, she used virtual breakout rooms and the content was spot on for all experience levels. Delivered in a really respectful manner Jen navigated the delicacies of mental health with such professionalism, really impressed.

I have always been pleased with the work that the Oakleaf gardening team have done for me.
Moreover they are industrious, cheerful and well mannered.

We are really pleased with the service provided by the Oakleaf gardening team. Whoever makes up the team on the day, they are always friendly and polite, and work efficiently and tidily. They are also very reliable and always let us know in advance if there's a change of plan.

I am delighted with my re-upholstered sofa. The workmanship is to a very high standard and it looks as good as new. Service was quick and efficient and the guys collecting and delivering were very flexible and helpful. All in all a very positive experience.

Steve did a fantastic job for me, re-covering a wing chair. I bought a beautiful, high quality fabric and we discussed how to give the chair a modern look by painting the legs black and the use and specific placement of chrome upholstery tacks. The end result is phenomenal. The quality of Steves’ craftsmanship is exceptional. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic job. Our furniture now looks better than new. A new lease of life given to a few old and tired arm chairs. The attention and the service by everybody at Oakleaf was outstanding. We cannot recommend Oakleaf enough. Thank you!
