Very much enjoy this new experience of owning a few separate race shares with Old Gold. Love the weekly updates from two of the three trainers, although one has let the side down unfortunately, but that doesn't reflect on the quality of the horses or the overall experience. Also enjoy the addition of a free club horse experience of Henry Box Brown and the updates that come with it are fantastic from his trainer. Great choice. The admin team are second to none and very personable over the phone with any questions I had to start off with which were a few! Very much looking forward to 2026 and getting to my first race meetings and stable visits. I hope we get some more runs in Newcastle or locally soon🤞

A very well run company that keeps you well updated on all your horses and it’s a great way to feel involved with Racing I really enjoy watching all my horses run it’s a 5 stars from me.

This is a friendly, helpful company. Nothing is too much trouble. Whether you are new to racing, or have been involved for years,it is a great way to be a part of the action as an owner. The team at OGR are adept at finding a good horse, and choosing a great band of trainers, and have had some great wins and places.

An excellent way to get into horse racing ownership. Plenty of information, stable visits and if you are lucky an owners badge to give you the experience in the parade ring.
Absolutely brilliant.

I was given a share in the Old Gold Racing Fabulous Fortune owners syndicate as a gift . After just a few days the owners were informed that the horse had sustained an injury and would require 8 weeks rest before being assessed, the injury had been spotted by the trainer soon after joining him but at the time of the update the horse had been with the trainer for over 3 months. Did OGR withhold info on the injury until all shares were sold or was the OGR weekly update false and misleading ????. Cost of the horse - OGR stated the the horse was purchased for £43,000 at Doncaster spring sales, the syndicate were charged £42637.50 (2250 x £18.95) the actual price was £40,000, just blatantly wrong resulting in the syndicate being overcharged by over £2500. The remainder of the syndicate time according to OGR updates was that the horse was spending his time resting and having a lovely time. Following an assesment the horse was then sent back to the trainer for a few weeks then the syndicate were informed that despite all the veterinary and laser treatment ( none of this mentioned in OGR weekly updates) the injury had flared up again and the horse was to be retired and we were asked to be patient and await the syndicate being wounds up. For the weekly very short email update that where at best misleading and at worst dishonest the syndicate was charged over £40,000 . I hope that anyone thinking of buying a share in any future OGR syndicate takes note of my review, just check out the information as to how your payment is proportioned and you will see that without exception in every syndicate the largest payment is to OGR, validated by the fact that they provide weekly updates ( sent to them by the trainer when in training) and in this case far from accurate otherwise,
Whilst your response is appreciated anyone reading it will see that it contains very little in response to my review but by focussing your response on other areas you have inadvertantly given much more strength to my claim that OGR were aware to the injury to Fabulous Fortune some time before the initial notification on September 6th 2024. Below are extracts taken from your response . Fabulous Fortune re-entered pre-training on 6 June 2025 following a period of time off. We reported that she had returned to full training in our update dated 27 June 2025.Fabulous Fortune’s 2025 programme broadly mirrored her 2024 timetable, which is normal. Below is the notification received on Sept 6th Fabulous Fortune was found to have some mild swelling around her front tendons shortly after her arrival at Jamie Snowden's yard. You acknowledge that the horse entered full training late June 2024 and the career ending injury was spotted soon after yet OGR continued to sell shares for approximately 2 months before launching the syndicate then informing the owners. You then say that the £40,000 + is not a management fee which is hilarious as that is the exact terminology you use on your ad

It looks like a good way to have a share in a horse and if your lucky enough to be balloted to visit racing then it’s good value I seriously doubt it gives you insider knowledge regarding winning as some people have said and the quality of horses appear limited. If you are a trainer and owner of a horse you are certainly making money back on your purchase by selling the shares. If you like an interest it’s for you if you want to make money I don’t think so

Old Gold Racing gives you a great opportunity to own a share/shares in a race horse to experience the racing world at close hand. Regular weekly updates on your horse/horses from the training yards with videos.
The opportunity to attend a race via ballot if your horse is racing is an exciting experience for anyone involved.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Old Gold is a great way to get involved in racing by being an owner as part of a syndicate. Great weekly communications, updates on your horses both good and bad, meet lots of great people and they run great events. Just attended a fabulous day at Cheltenham with super panel discussions and Q & A with the Old Gold trainers. Thoroughly recommend.

I have been an Old Gold Racing member for several years now and I have thoroughly enjoyed my memberships far. I love the weekly video updates from the trainers so I can see how my horses are getting along. I have also attended a couple of Old Gold events which have been excellent (including here at Cheltenham today!) Thoroughly recommend.

The marquee facilities at Cheltenham for the Old Gold Racing were excellent. The food selection ideal for lunch and bar facilities very well manned. The trainer panel was first class and gave serious input into the horses and rationale on performance expectations for the day. All in all a highly recommended afternoon in a warm and friendly environment. Hat off to the organisers.

Having bought my wife Linda a share for her birthday we’ve become hooked and now have 13 horses - each! We’ve been to several OG events, including winning a couple of owners badges and have to say everyone at OG, and other owners, are always so friendly and welcoming. It’s a fantastic club to be a part of.

Lovely team, great to talk to and best of all the horses! Been with Old Gold since the early days of Darling Maltaix and have had and still have many horse shares with them! 😁

I have been a owner in the Old Gold racing syndicate for a number of years. The joy and fun being an owner with this Group has been a delight. I look forward each Saturday for my weekly update on all my 5 horses and the events, open days are wonderful. Always hoped one day to have.NH horse, ths makes this dream possible. The team in the head office are so helpful ably led by Ed. The care of the retired horses is really important to me and I delight in hearing their after stories.
