Olio drivers have been flytipping on our local green for more that a year. They have been leavng large bags of Tesco and Sainsburys bread, 9well out of date), originally in all the plastic wrappings which rats and squirrels were shredding and scattering, now, by removing the wrappers and scattering big chunks of bread over a treasured local green space. It has been identified as foodstuffs collected by Olio be the reduced labels on the wrappers, and 2 branches of Sainsburys and 3 of Tescos have become involved and spoken to their Olio contacts. Olio's conduct is shameful, - we were originally anxious about reporting it as we did not want to stop leftover usable food being passed to them for distribution to those who need it. The products which are not passed on to people who can benefit from them should be properly and responsibly disposed of.

I am what Olio call a food waste hero.
The concept is good but the execution can be rubbish at times.

I have been signed up since January and gradually getting the hang of how to distribute food waste from supermarkets
Until !!! Something went wrong with there communication system with the supermarket. I turned up for a Save Me allotted slot and was told by the supermarket that they weren’t expecting me and there was no food waste to collect. No problem. But my listing did not appear on the website so I couldn’t explain what had happened. So I filled out a report form to say what had occurred. The next day I received a warning and said my slots had been removed as punishment. 3 days later and 4 emails and reports made I have heard nothing from Olio. I have been going round and round in circles to try and resolve the problem but there is no human face or voice behind Olio. I just want to talk to a human being !!! An apology would be nice to for this mess up.

Great online platform. Highly recommended.

It's really good app to reduce food wastage but the problem is rating, you need many good ratings to increase your overall rating but due to a single bad rating your points reduce drastically and you get overall bad rating easily due to a single bad rating.

Wonderful app I have been recommending it to everyone not just food waste on it you can list unwanted items and get wanted items also training courses etc very versatile app.

It’s such a delight to allow items and unwanted food to get use again or food that won’t go to waste. What a great platform that’s easy to use too.

Olio removed my app rating as it wasn’t 5*. Offered something for free and gave approximate postcode to arrange collection. Within half an hour a man was banging my door, I did not give him full address. Luckily I wasn’t home alone. On messaging olio support, I was told it was a blurred location and was probably a local who recognised it by landmarks/ trees etc, (not true it’s quite a new build). Would not raise the complaint regarding personal safety. Fobbed off completely, any person avoid for your own safety and peace of mind.

Absolutely brilliant little site sell give away and also can buy and get certain things for free have recommended the site to family so happy I found this site

Absolutely love Olio. Times are hard and wastage is awful. Makes a huge difference to be able to pick some bits up to bridge the gap. Also fantastic to be able to pass stuff on that you won't use but someone else would love!

I have recently started using Olio and have been very impressed with the set up, ease of use and how easy it is to advertise and collect items - brilliant and would recommend.

A really great app. I love the sustainability aspect, sharing what I don’t need and giving it to someone who actually wants it. It’s great for decluttering sustainably. I ve also picked up some useful things myself for free. The map allows you to see how local it is when you are deciding to ask for something.

Brilliant app, brilliant idea.

Now totally ruined with adverts. Watching a 60 second advert after each and every request is overkill and by the time you've watch three ads the other goodies have gone. Waste of time trying to secure food now.

I can't be alone thinking you've overdone the ads, whilst you may need them, they are too long and too frequent and make the app totally unusable

Olio has really helped me through difficult times when I had no food. Apart from that since joining I have been much more aware of reducing food waste and making a positive impact. I have also passed forward and given items I no longer need to other people. Great community spirit as well as sharing and reducing waste

My experience is with the free stuff. I have benefitted from both receiving and giving. I appreciate the polite ethos and the understanding that commitment to an offer [giving or receiving] is expected.
All my transactions have been a pleasure.

IM READING PEOPLES REVIEWS ABOUT OLIO AND I THINK SOME YOU HAVE A BLOODY CHEEK TO SIT AND MOAN ABOUT ITS RUBBISH saying WHERES THE MEAT ONLY GET BREAD or SALADS (for free) YES FREE!!!!! go and buy your own meat like everyone else!!!!!!the fact that this platform is to prevent food waste and put food in belly’s regardless if it’s bread or salads! You got it it free didn’t you it’s not just one person Im seeing a lot people becoming to expectant of things !! I swear this day and age people are becoming vile and expect Too much and quick to take them collections though Im sure dont sit and eat you free toast and moan about the app that provided the means for you to eat that bread !! OLIO YOUR DOING GREAT THANKS

Bullying.
Great to start with and I did hundreds of collections but missed one and didn’t respond as my Dad died. Totally bullied by an app. No support available to talk to about things.

A absolutely fantastic idea, the app is easy to use except for the very rare occasional time that it might act up. I wish that the adverts were a bit shorter or those who have paid to not have adverts have a delay as a lot of times the really good food goes to the ones that dont have to watch the adverts. Other than that can't complain, its free food and household items!

There are some.lovely people in here really willing to help you have a few others that are absolutely horrible treat you you scum this has happend on 3 separate occasions and the person that is potentially bullying you then gets you blocked from being a olio hero? Fantastic site for what it does or what it's ment to do but the people? Don't think it's worth being spoken to in that way if I'm honnist.
