Al and I go way back when having spent 9 months on the RAF PTI course where straight away I knew he was a strong, confident and passionate guy. He helped me through some tough challenges pushing me to achieve the best I could and always the first to encourage me and give me advice where needed. He has gone on to become an extremely knowledgeable man in his chosen field, always learning and striving for more to enhance is love and passion for what he truly believes in which is incredibly rare to find and thus making him someone you would want by your side when striving for excellence or goals you want to achieve. If you want professionalism, honesty, someone who will help you achieve your goals Al is definitely the man for the job.

Changed my training programme to something much more suitable. Grew stronger with even better form in the first few weeks. As a surfer it's developed a higher mobility and good trunk strength I didn't think I'd reach. Excellent trainer!

I worked with Al as my coach during my Ironman training, where I decided if I was spending all that money on doing the event I would need a professional to support and guide my training.
Al is a no nonsense coach with many years of experience and puts the training in context to the specific needs of the client, for example I had recently suffered a grade 2 knee ligament tear, but Al built the training around this and focused on strength, mobility and core development to build up base as well as developing bike endurance and swim improvements. (I improved both and swim time was an hour better than at the start of training for iron distance)
a mix of remote coaching and half day intensive training worked well for me and were at a competitive rate for the experience Al has.
Consider Al for any large training programme if you like a structured approach with straightforward and honest answers. He kept me on track and didn't let me push too hard too early on, to save the best for the race day!

Al is clearly driven, well focused and very knowledgeable in the leisure industry. I met Al as part of RIDGEGEAR when we were in the early stages of distributing our adventure PPE across the sites that he was involved in. Whilst building a rapport, I clearly saw that Al was a person I could work with as we hit it off right away. Since then, Al has been working closely with RIDGEGEAR and has helped develop RIDGEGEAR Adventure Training, having a huge input to the training manual, course content and delivery of training to the RIDGEGEAR trainers in preparation for the launch of Advenure Training.

Having Al on board as part of the RIDGEGEAR team is very exciting. Al is a person I can trust and I know that Adventure Training will be a success with him on board.

Really knowledgeable coach. Met Al professionally and took some of his advise before enrolling into a formal training plan. Great to work with someone who understands the pain you have to go through and sacrifice needed to excel as he walks the walk and inspires his clients through his own personal achievements. His smart training plans have also reduced my injuries and allowed me to complete events I didn’t think I could. Would highly recommend 👍

Al is certainly the BEST trainer I’ve experienced and would highly recommend! Al has a friendly nature, courteous, respectful and thoroughly professional, he’s passionate about his work and embodies what he talks about. I will take credit for all of the hard graft, but I couldn’t have done it without Al’s motivation, guidance and support. His dietary advice was a massive help and put me on the road to fitness, health and performance. He wants you to succeed and gives you the right balance between support and motivation from day one helping you achieve your full potential. In a short time he changed my attitude not only about exercise but also my lifestyle. He really understood the goals I wanted to achieve and was passionate in making me reach these. Al is genuinely interested in his clients and their well-being. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

What can I say about Al and the world class service he offers? If you’re after a fitness expert then look no further, you’d be hard pushed to find anyone better. Al is a consummate professional and this is mirrored in his personal life which has been devoted to pushing the boundaries in the strive for physical excellence. Not your ten a penny PT who gained a quick qualification to work in a pay as you go gym. Al has gone from having a distinguished military career with the RAF to become a successful sports industry professional with ease due to his expertise in this field. Al is a highly experienced coach who will get you where you want to be... if you have the personal desire and drive to get there. His record speaks for itself and he practices what he preaches. This is backed up by his extraordinary personal achievements having completed multiple marathons and IRONMAN events with incredible finish times. Al is extremely knowledgeable and there aren’t many areas of fitness he is unable to discuss eloquently and in such depth that you can not fail to learn from him. I personally consider myself lucky to have been trained by Al in the past and I highly recommend anyone to train smart and be awesome with him.

I was training a marathon for charity, and my biggest challenge was trying to rid some weight. Al helped me reach my goals in ALL areas and a can't be thankful enough. I had only done 5k and 10k before this event. Al is knowledgeable, caring and just an all round great guy! Wouldn't go anywhere else and if I could give more than 5* I would. Worth every penny!
