Calls himself an accountant when in fact he’s a bookkeeper. He claims he submitted my self assessment yet 4 weeks on I’ve got no acknowledgement from HMRC and no paperwork. When I queried this he tells me to go ask HMRC. If I was going to ask HMRC myself what did I appoint this guy for. He’s the most unprofessional person in the field and like they say you get what you pay for. Now it makes sense why this guy charged £100. Avoid this guy at all costs. Worst experience ever!!

I needed advice regarding the VAT registration rules for my business. After speaking to several accountants, I didn’t get satisfactory answers to my queries. He was very professional and knowledgeable and explained the compulsory VAT and voluntary registration rules in detail. He also advised me on monitoring whether my business has or will have a VAT registration threshold.

Ismail Shah also advised me that the VAT flat rate scheme would be more beneficial for my service-based business and provided me with a quote should I want to switch my accountant; his annual fees are much more reasonable than other firms.
