left my van in trinity motors last october every time i ring to check always told waiting on peugeot to ring us back van is 192 reg not good service and we have seven of the same vans wont be getting anymore

I am deeply disappointed with the Peugeot Partner van I purchased for my business in July 2021. Despite the fact that the timing chain is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, it broke after only 80k miles (130km) on the clock. This was the main reason I chose this model, as it had a chain and not a timing belt.

The customer service experience from both the dealer and manufacturer main office in Dublin has been beyond disappointing. After the van had to be towed to the nearest garage to determine the issue, Peugeot refused to in any way resolve the issue or meet half way in providing the parts at cost price considering the fault was on a known issue and a part not meant to fail. The cost to fix the issue was an exorbitant €1800.

It is frustrating to learn that the issue was known to Peugeot, as the replacement part was a modified 9mm chain rather than the 7mm chain originally fitted, indicating a design flaw. Despite this knowledge, Peugeot still failed to compensate for the issue.

Peugeot's refusal to take responsibility for the timing chain issue was compounded by the fact that they cited the fact that the van had been worked on by the garage it was towed to, as a reason for not offering any support. It is important to emphasise that this step was necessary to determine the problem and was beyond my control. However, Peugeot still chose not to provide any assistance or support in this matter. This level of inconsideration and lack of accountability is simply unacceptable.

It is clear that Peugeot don't value customer satisfaction and loyalty. Knowing that a lifetime part has failed after only 2 years, and with the problem occurring in other vans with a modified part, they still chose not to support their customers.

If your thinking of buying a van, I strongly advise you to reconsider purchasing a Peugeot and to take my experience as a warning. The lack of support and care for their customers is simply unacceptable. They didn't even want to talk about a replacement van while my business van was off the road for this period.

There were other poor levels of service and response from JJ burkes the Peugeot dealer in the 10 days I was dealing with this included refusing to provide a contact name or email address for who they spoke to in Peugeot head office in Dublin quoting data protection when this necessary business to business information is not under the remit of GDRP. This further frustrated the process only providing the main switchboard number and having to explain the previous week's correspondence again to Donal. Again completely unnecessary and poor level of service.

I will be taking my business elsewhere and will be advising others to do the same. I will be looking towards more reliable and customer service-focused companies such as Toyota or Citroen.

It is a shame that a company would rather lose future sales and positive reviews than to make an effort to rectify their mistakes.

So if i understand this correctly, the best case scenario is 2 weeks from now for the car to arrive in Dublin plus another 1‐2 weeks until pickup?!

And even this is not guaranteed!!

For a car that was ordered in August and build in December...

Shipping Update

“ The shipping news in not what was expected, the Grande Potogallo arrived at Setubal as planned last week, however due to major congestion at the port none of our 2008 & Partners were able to make it on to the port to be loaded.

The ship continued its journey to Antwerp where it picked up a quantity of vehicles and these are due to arrive tomorrow morning followed by another vessel , in 2 weeks, this planned ship has yet to have its units confirmed.

We are in daily contact with the shipping company to resolve the situation and will keep you informed of developments.

So it seems they are asking customers to continue to be patient , and await more news from shipping , and more definite dates.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the Peugeot partner or Peugeot Ireland to any prospective buyer. My story is I am a taxi driver who bought a new Peugeot partner in 2018 and have had it serviced by bluebell motors who are a main Peugeot garage since I bought it. My most recent service was December 2021 and at that time there was one hundred and twelve thousand kilometres on the clock. When leaving it in I asked about timing belt change and I was told it would be alright till next service. On 4th of January 22 about one thousand kilometres after service the timing belt broke and did €3900 worth of damage and was told by the garage it was not covered by warranty as this ceased at 100,000 kilometres. Due to supply issues and shortage of parts I was without my car for two months. I also asked for courtesy car but there wasn't one available. The only redeeming feature was that Ian the service manager got me a refund of €598 from Peugeot France as a good will gesture. In conclusion I feel that as my car was serviced on or before due millage and had asked about changing timing belt I have been hard done by and out of pocket by €3300.
