I had a great experience with PhonicsâŠ
I had a great experience with Phonics Car Key Company. The staff arrived right on time and did a tremendous job in a very professional manner. He quickly diagnosed the issue and saved me a lot of money by repairing the key instead of replacing the whole barrel, which other places suggested. The work was done efficiently and professionally, and the problem was solved perfectly.
Iâm very happy with the service and would highly recommend them. Definitely deserving of a five-star rating.

Poor communication and unprofessional
I booked well in advance to have a spare car key made and was expecting the appointment to be first thing in the morning. I appreciate that things can go wrong, but I didnât receive any updates beforehand, so I had to call and message on the day to find out what was happening. I was then told I could be seen at 3pm, which I was happy to accept, but again I didnât hear anything by 3pm so I called.
I then found out that their server had been down all day, which meant the key couldnât be made. I completely understand that technical issues happen, but it would have been really helpful to have been informed earlier, as it would have saved a lot of waiting around rather than being told last minute. If the server was down all day, a simple call to say would have made all the difference.
Overall, just a bit more communication would have made the experience much smoother.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. Iâm genuinely sorry for the frustration caused by the lack of communication on the day â youâre absolutely right that better updates would have made a big difference.
Youâre also correct that unexpected technical issues can occur, but that doesnât excuse the inconvenience of waiting without clear information. We should have contacted you as soon as it became clear that our system issues would affect your appointment, and I apologise that this didnât happen.
Your comments are fair and have been taken on board. Weâre already reviewing our internal processes to ensure customers are proactively informed if any issues arise, particularly when appointments are booked in advance.
Thank you again for raising this â feedback like yours helps us improve, and Iâm sorry we fell short on this occasion.

I had an issue with the car electrics and the team at Phoenix car keys suggested that the problem is due to the car fob not responding. Hi there,
Thanks for your review. Just to clarify the situation â you asked us to attend as you hoped a new key would resolve the issue. We advised clearly in advance that, due to the electrical faults present on the vehicle, we could not guarantee that a new key would fix the underlying problem. You were given a quote on a non-guaranteed basis, which you accepted before we attended.
Our locksmith travelled to you, cut and programmed a new key as requested, and the service was carried out correctly. Unfortunately, if the vehicle has deeper electrical issues, a key alone cannot resolve those, and it wouldnât be possible to provide this service for free in those circumstances.
We genuinely wish you the very best in getting the vehicleâs electrical problems sorted, and weâre always happy to help with any key-related issues in the future.
Kind regards,
Phoenix Car Keys Ltd
Remote central locking fob programmed for grey import van
We had had no luck at all trying to source the right wavelength fob for our grey import Nissan NV350 van from Japan. Bought a fob online which proved to be useless. Our van had arrived in the UK without its remote central locking key. One call to Phoenix got it all sorted out for us and, within the space of a few days, their recommended local autolocksmith, Daniel, had called to the house and programmed the new central locking fob successfully.

Honest advice for simple key fob not working
Had a problem with my Discovery Sport key system and couldn't work out why there were issues starting the vehicle. Put in new batteries but still no joy - phoned Carla at PCK who suggested the new duracell batteries I'd installed were often an issue as they have child proof stickers left on that interrupt the signal. Problem solved and much hassle and cost averted! Thank you so much great advice.
