Wait times...
Took longer than stated to receive first time, which doesn't fill me with hope going forward. You're stated a time of 5 working days for any updates (but told it's often a lot quicker than that). Not ideal for working this into a training plan if that's your goal.
Absolutely willing to update the review if things improve, but I'm already not impressed

Hi Douglas, thanks for taking the time to submit a review - I think this is misleading though, so I want to clarify a few things. Entrants do have the flexibility to choose the order of runs and are asked to select which race they intend to run next, so that a personal time to beat is calculated for them at that distance (based on their last result). They can do that at any time of their choosing in 2022. I have also been happy to switch races for entrants. Let me know if you would like help, and hopefully you will consider removing this review. Great organisation, and enjoyable race series, second year of running with them, and the motivation is just what I need.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review Paul. All your times were with you within the 5 working days, (and in one case processed within hours for a race you had in the evening), but you are right that the speed of time updates should be reduced for next year.
It's not the terminator and it is for everyone
Not a literal race against a robot uprising
A way to challenge yourself and chase after times that are challenging but realistic.
It's always better when running with others, even virtually, so give it a whirl..

Great motivation for running
Great motivation for running! A fab concept of six challenges to race against the machine with individual targets set to beat over the calendar year in your own time, each challenge getting slightly harder as your times improve. I have completed four races and working towards the last two! Oh and I love wearing the red race the machine t-shirt to events always get chatting to someone about it 😎

A very simple but highly motivating…
A very simple but highly motivating challenge that kept me pushing myself to go beyond what I thought was possible. Definitely worth including ias part of a half marathon training plan, or just as a challenge in its on right.

Great challenge against the machine
Great challenge against the machine. 6 events all handicapped. Times given we’re all achievable for me. Missed out beating the machine on half marathon. Chose the wrong route against the wind for 7 miles. Could have used that as a practice run as you have till end of year to beat the machine happy though I got 5 out of 6 to achieve mission accomplished. Next year going for 6/6.

Cheers John. You also wrote a really lovely review on Facebook which I will paste here for everyone. All thee best for the marathon... "When I saw this challenge I thought Id give it a go. My first run was the 10k and then a mix after that. I completed the 6 with the 10 mile and to be honest it was by far the hardest. But having beat the machine all 6 times I was looking for another challenge. At 70 going on 71 its not the tough cross country type of runs but road or at a push trail runs I look for. Saw an add to do the London Marathon virtually so Ive signed up to do 26.2 miles on October 2nd this year the day of my 71st birthday. Not run that distance or anything over 13.1 miles since 1994. Its thanks to Michael and this event that made me think if I can do them I can run 26.2 and the worlds biggest marathon. Give this challenge a go, hard yes but well worth pushing your body."
