PSNI data breach . Awards made and received by this firm but a lot of people who went to them still waiting to be paid their money whilst other firms have completed all payments to their clients.
Take my advice go elsewhere for anything and dont use these charlatans.

I would like to thank David French of Reid Black Solicitors for everything he has done in achieving compensation for my loss of hearing. This has been a long process, but David kept me informed at all times throughout keeping me up to date with the case. David’s experience in dealing with such cases was invaluable and he only accepted the best possible outcome which I was delighted with. I wish to thank David for all his hard work and I would highly recommend Reid Black Solicitors to anyone pursuing compensation claim against the MOD.

Was advised to go with this firm for a military hearing loss claim as they were quick, reliable and trustworthy…. Unfortunately I wish I hadn’t. My claim has now been with them for almost 3 years. They don’t keep you updated and don’t appear to be chasing the MOD much at all. After chasing them I was informed by them recently that claims with them are now taking at least 36 months to resolve….. from the point they send your paperwork on to the MOD… not the start of the claim. I find this hard to believe when I look at other people’s stories online… I think it more of a case that, like most solicitors they are greedy and have taken on more work than they can manage. I asked them why it’s taking so long and they didn’t even bother to respond.

We engaged Reid Black for what should have been a simple probate purchase of a house between siblings. Required unbelievable amounts of chasing - their standard response has been to ignore calls/emails unless threatened with escalation - the solicitor (Karen Cox )did not advise us of a deadline to submit information, and went ahead and submitted a below-actual valuation of the house. Now refusing to correct it. The date I have given is just the latest reach-out I have tried, with only one in two years receiving a response. 2 years on we still have not had it corrected. I could not recommend this firm.

David and his team have done a fantastic job with my MoD hearing loss claim. It took a long time from start to finish (over 4 years), but I put that down to the MoD dragging their heels, not Reid Black. The final settlement was more than I expected and nothing was taken as payment. Their fee is claimed seperately from the MoD. I would recommend anyone who served and has hearing loss or tinnitus to give them a call. You've got nothing to lose.

My experience with Reid Black Solicitors has been exceptional. My MOD hearing loss claim started in Autumn 2023 and was settled in June this year approximately 18 months from start to finish. The Solicitors do NOT take any of your settlement, they receive payment from the HMF Solicitors as payment from the NI courts. Highly recommended!!
