Please do not touch this company, they are a scam, if possible I would not even give them a star.
They have taken £1000 after falsely saying what they would investigate prior to payment of the money and changing to a very reduced investigation on receipt of the money.
They have not returned many emails and phone calls.
I have now received an email to say they have not been able to find any information, despite a previous email saying they had some, they hope I am happy with this outcome and have closed the investigation.
There in no evidence they have done anything.
They have ignored my emails and despite numerous attempts at phoning, have not answered.

Please do not trust the positive reviews like I foolishly did, trust the negative.

I have told them in an email, I will be taking legal action if I have not heard from them in 14 day.

The website has now disappeared and their phone is off the hook.

A recorded letter, I sent to their registered address as all other avenues of communication have failed has not been delivered or been refused stating on tracking they are no longer registered at the address.

Companies House states they are registered at this address.

They have previously changed the name of the company. Why?

Reading through reviews, I am not the only person who has recently been treated like this.

Please save yourself the trauma and the expense of trusting this company.

I am sharing my experience to warn others about a company called Relative Connections.

I contacted them while trying to locate a family member, whom I had not been in contact with for many years. After several email exchanges and a phone call, I was asked to make an initial payment, which I paid by credit card.

A few days later, I was told they had located my family member, and I was asked to pay a further amount. However, double the amount was taken from my card without my consent. When I questioned this, I received no explanation.

Since then, the company has stopped responding completely. Their website is no longer available, their phone numbers do not work, and they have ignored all of my emails, letters, and formal complaints. I have not received any invoices or proof of service.

I have reported this matter to the relevant authorities, including the police, Action Fraud, and Trading Standards, and investigations are ongoing.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution before engaging with this company. Police are well aware of this company and their team. They are clearly exploiting people who are vulnerable and looking for their loved ones.
This company is clearly falsifying the positive reviews.

Relative Connections have been very helpful, but unfortunately I am not being able to get through to them via their phone numbers and I am not getting a response via email currently.

After after spending over a grand with relative connection ive tried ringing them loads of times but no ansewer left messages no one gets back to you this company are shocking take your money then you dont hear from them im now thinking it a scam so ill be lokking into reporting them

Don't use this company! I paid 1400 for them to find my brother which i did most of the legwork. Had to chase updates with them myself, the mediation lady has left with no update on this. The last contact was she was going to make telephone contact, im still in limbo with the outcome? Website in down and been calling constantly and leaving messages for 10 days nobody has got back to me. A very expense emotional waste of money.

I paid them £600 to find my birth certificate which thay said they could do. i rang them on the monday paid £299. they rang me on the fri saying they have found it so i had to pay another £299. he didn't even ask my address where to send it but was quick to take my money. i have never recived my birth certificate after numerus calls so i think this company is a scam thay have been reported for fraud

I wasn't sure if this would work. After all it was 1968 since I last saw the person that I wanted. Relative connections were brilliant. Found her, sensitively connected us back together. We're emailing now.
All contacts at RC were super.
Worth every penny.

Relative Connections becomes ex connections after you give them your money, you cant get any replies or contact whatsoever, I don't believe a reliable company worth their salt would completely disappear after they get your hard earned cash, in fact I would doubt if they are still in business ,.Take care this Leeds based company do not take credit or debit cards it is pathetic to not be able to contact any company just because they have got your money...its a Gotcha situation! Beware!

I am estranged from my two daughters due to a messy divorce from a violently aggressive ex-husband, and I contacted Relative Connections last year in the hope that they could help me reconnect with my daughters. At that time Relative Connections told me that they would only be able to trace my eldest daughter as the younger was under the age of 18, and due to Relative Connections high costs, I chose to use another service, that other service successfully located my daughters. Despite knowing their location, sadly, I haven't been able to connect with my daughters. Relative Connections continued to contact me regularly via email, explaining their extensive services and eventually, desparate to contact my daughters, the youngest was now 18+, I replied back to them. A telephone meeting was arranged by Relative Connections during which they explained an impressive range of services and their experienced staff, to reach out to my daughters to re-connect, so impressive and so assuring, that despite the initial cost being high, we decided to engage their services. I was surprised that, having paid the initial payment, I didn't receive any further calls or correspondence to discuss details, e.g., I already had the address from my previous searches. Many attempts to call Relative Connections yielded an engaged tone, but my emails went unanswered. To my complete surprise a week later I received an email from Relative Connections simply saying that they had attempted to locate my older daughter, no mention at all of my younger daughter, and that completed their service to me (goodbye). My friend in South Africa decided to do a simple search for my daughters, and within 15 minutes had located my older daughter on instagram and confirmed she is still living in the same town. Relative Connections had obviously not read any of my emails and fallen well short of reasonable expectations. None of their initial promises were fulfilled, and I can only say they took my money and ran. If you engage their services, get ready to flush your money down the pan along with your mental health!

I can’t thank the team at relative connections enough. From the first call everyone was so helpful and understanding . My mother age 85 had never known who her natural father was. A war baby she was raised by her grandparents. She had always longed to have a name at least to know where her dna came from.
We were sceptical at first but within days John had identified over 100 possible matches. 3 months later he had narrowed it to 2 potential men . 6 months later not only did he have a name but a dba match to siblings of my mother from her fathers line. Exceeding our expectations we never dreamt of this outcome. It is already life changing. We can’t recommend them enough. If you are considering them just do it you won’t regret it.

No duty of care. This is the company to use if you want to find someone you have abused. This company gave an abuser details of where person he abused lived. The person they gave details to is on police bail for rape and cohersive control

I highly recommend Relative Connections. They have been absolutely fantastic in helping me reunite with my birth parents and family, parents who last saw me 44 years ago. Every person I interacted with at the company was extremely friendly and helpful, showing genuine care and interest in helping me with my case. It has been a very emotional and life changing experience, and I will never forget the names of the people who helped me.

The relative in question was found quickly. While the result was not what I had hoped, the company had dealt with the process very well. I can certainly recommend them.

I initially made and an enquiry to Relative Connections early summer last year. They were very good at first and found out details of my biological mother q very uickly and called me to let me know. However it then went silent for a while I did chase them up didnt hear anything for allong time. I gave up hope in finding my mum and felt very lost.However early January this year I got email and call from Amanda to explain she took up my case and sent a letter just before xmas to biological mum. I was in total shock to find out after 33 years apart my mum wanted to meet me. On 3rd February I finally got to meet her. Unfortunately she has health issues but doesnt matter. It would have been nice to have seen her last year as she only received the letter at Xmas. However we had a lovely afternoon and have been talking ever since on the phone. I am truly grateful for Amanda to picking up my case and working her magic.
The missing peace of the jigsaw is now complete.

Although the outcome was not what I had hoped for, Amanda handled my situation with great sensitivity, honesty, and compassion. She made every possible effort to help establish a connection with my daughter and kept me fully informed at each stage. Her advice was thoughtful and realistic, and she took the time to explain things clearly while always being supportive and understanding of how difficult this process was for me as a parent.

What stood out most was Amanda’s personal approach , she never treated me like just a case number. Her reassurance, empathy, and willingness to listen made a very painful situation easier to cope with, and I genuinely felt supported even after the formal service had ended.

I would highly recommend Relative Connections to anyone considering this type of service. They act professionally, ethically, and with real care for the people involved. Even when contact isn’t possible, they handle things with dignity and respect, which means a great deal.

When I set out to find an old friend, it was important to me to work with an ethical service that would demonstrate transparency and had a clear commitment to maintaining the privacy and choices of all parties. From first contact, I found Relative Connections fitted the bill. The processes, principles and costs were explained clearly and in full and there were no changes, delays or hidden charges. Expectations were set fairly and appropriately and all the staff were friendly and understanding throughout, offering as much or as little advice and support as might be needed. My friend was located and contacted by Relative Connections, pleased to hear from me and we enjoyed brief but beneficial contact which enabled us to catch-up and worked well for both. So, huge thanks to the Team for a great job and particularly Amanda, who was present, patient and very empathetic throughout my journey.

The two people who helped me at Relative Connections dealt with my request with kindness and empathy . I had failed in my own searches to trace someone I wanted to find . Amazingly over a weekend the researchers had a result and I was able to send a letter requesting a reconnection.
This was beyond what I had expected.

The team at Relative Connections found my daughter very quickly which surprised me as I had tried for months without success. They gave excellent support both practical and emotional especially after my daughter contacted me and I was at a loss to know how to reply to what she said. Amanda, Intermediary Lead, gave great advice which helped me to view things differently and cause a shift in my feelings and perspective. I could not fault the professional and sensitive way everything was dealt with. If I could give 10 stars I would do so.

I cannot thank Relative Connections enough for the incredible work they did for me. After searching for answers about my father for a very long time, they were able to identify who he was — even though I didn’t have a name or any concrete information to go by.

I asked Relative Connections Ltd to find a girl friend who I last saw over 60 yrs ago. I paid up the fee and crossed my fingers, Sue, the intermediary contacted me and I sent all the info that I had on my friend, and within 2 months they had found her. I have to say at this point that it was in May 2025 and both of us were nearly in our mid 80s. Sue spoke to my friend, and she remembered me and she told Sue that she would mull it over.That was the last we ever received. What the problem was I do not know, nor should I, and there still has been no further contact from my friend to the company. I decided to hold back and let things develop, which they did,In December Amanda contacted me to say that she was reviewing some cases and got stuck in straightaway.She reminded me that my friend had mentioned something that I had totally forgotten about, so I know it is all correct and truthful. Amanda is a truly lovely lady who cares not only for her clients but for the people being searched for, and truly wants the best result for both parties.To be honest she made the whole exercise brilliant even though the case has now been held in limbo as the company said that any more attempts at contacting my friend could be construed as being overkill ,which I agreed with
Should my friend feel like contacting the company at a later date the my details will still be available,but I'm not holding my breath. I definitely recommend the Intermediary Service to anyone who is contemplating finding someone from way back. The researchers are very good at their jobs and with someone as caring, friendly andas warm as Amanda contacting the people you ca'nt go wrong.
