You can tell he genuinely cares

With memoir writing you're trusting someone with your family's stories, so I needed to make sure I picked the right person.

I reached out to quite a lot of people and companies but Zak stood out - he was really warm and friendly from our initial chat. With bigger companies you can get matched with someone who doesn't seem very interested. With Zak, the person you speak to on day one is the person who does the interviews and writes the book, and you'll have his attention the whole way.

He took real care getting every story right. He's a great listener, was really patient with me and my family, and puts you at ease even when you're getting into deeper stuff - which meant we were comfortable to open up about everything that was needed. He's genuinely a great writer, and we were really happy with how the book turned out.

If you're thinking about getting a parent's or grandparent's story written down, I'd definitely recommend him.

Zak was so friendly and understanding and seemed genuinely interested in my story. That made the whole experience much easier and more enjoyable- as sometimes we were discussing quite deep matters .
