I shop at Restaurant Depot regularly asâŠ
I shop at Restaurant Depot regularly as part of my work with DoorDash, and unfortunately my experiences here have become increasingly frustrating.
Trying to find products is often a nightmare. Items are frequently difficult to locate, and when you ask a member of staff for assistance, too often you are ignored, given a rude response, or sent in a direction where the product isnât even located.
I have actually had to go all the way to the front of the store and ask someone to check whether an item is in stock. Iâm then told that it is in stock and given an aisle number, only to walk back through the warehouse and still be unable to find it. When you ask for further assistance, you shouldnât be treated as though youâre an inconvenience simply for asking a question.
The overall organization of this location also needs serious attention. There is far too much stock for the facility to handle comfortably, with pallets, boxes and equipment throughout the warehouse. The checkout equipment also appears badly outdated, and the entire shopping experience can feel chaotic.
I appreciate that many employees may be doing the best they can under difficult circumstances, and this isnât directed at every member of staff. But ultimately, management is responsible for providing employees with a facility, equipment and system that allows them to do their jobs properly.
And whether Iâm shopping for myself, for a restaurant, or on behalf of a DoorDash customer, Iâm still a customer in the building. I should be treated with basic respect.
If I ask a reasonable question, please answer it. Donât ignore me. Donât make a rude comment. And donât simply point me in a direction when you donât actually know where the product is.
Restaurant Depot needs significant improvements in organization, customer service, staffing support and equipment. The current experience simply isnât good enough.
