I purchased a RIKI mirror and recently experienced a battery swelling issue after minimal use (3 uses).

I contacted customer service and was initially offered discount, ultimately a like new replacement, later informed that the request was being processed and required management approval.

However, communication has been inconsistent and the process has taken an extended amount of time (1 year to be exact) without a clear timeline for resolution.

I have also filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau as I await a final resolution.

Edit: I have updated this from 1 Star to 4 Stars as customer support has finally responded and will be sending me a 'like new' replacement. I feel this is a very fair resolution. I don't need a NEW mirror, only one that is safe to use as I almost shipped my mirror home but realized that battery is bloated. Can you imagine if this started a fire in transit? Thank you Aira Tricia Rocaberte, my customer support representative. I greatly appreciate the attention to detail.

Original Post: I don't know what happened to this company. Their mirrors are super expensive and the battery on mine is bloated and now is unusable. I've reached out twice online to support and no one ever responds. I suggest ordering from Ilios mirrors which are far superior anyway. Rikki is not worth ordering from, so don't waste your money.

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. The battery for the Baby Face red light LED mask stopped charging. The mask was a Christmas gift and is now garbage. There is no customer service you can reach and the replacement battery isn't for sale on their site. I can't return without cust svc. Their very expensive mask is now garbage.

I had a similar situation happen like one of the comments....

Order a riki scultress as a gift and there were no updates at all. After sending over 100 emails, they finally reply back and said it was "backordered and will be shipped out next week." A day later the item is marked as shipped with a shipping number after I told them I will patiently wait until I pass away to receive the item. DO NOT BUY DIRECTLY FROM THEIR WEBSITE. Customer service is a joke. They will act quickly when you want to cancel an order but will not care to ship out item until you reach out.

Ordered a $350 mirror and received an Order Confirmation email. After several more days, I had not received a Shipped email or Tracking Number. Had to “chat” on their website to find out that the mirror I had paid for was Out of Stock and they didn’t know when it would be available again. This joke of a company should have reached out to ME instead of me having to contact them.

Bad company as two of my four mirrors have swollen battery packs. Our of warranty so I get no help. Money wasted.

I would give a -5 star if I could. Do not purchase this product. The back panel will start to open and the battery will become swollen and start bulging out. Potentially becoming a hazard. I contacted customer service and they will not assist or replace.

Dangerous swollen battery is a safety hazard. I had been pressing on the back of my mirror to stop the flap from lifting and only now realise how dangerous that was. This has been an issue with Rikilovesriki mirrors for years - just do a search for 'Riki mirror battery swollen'.

If your battery has swollen, GET IT OUT OF YOUR HOME IMMEDIATELY and find out how to dispose of it safely.

I received a mirror as a gift but only started using it several months ago. All was great until I went away for 3 weeks and came back to find the rechargeable battery had swelled up. I wrote to them as many suggested on Reddit that they received great service.
At first since the one year warranty had passed they offered 25% to buy a new one as a battery replacement isn’t an option. I declined. They wrote back asking if there was anything else they could do, I said considering the swollen battery is a common defect reported by many they should offer better. They came back with 65%. I accepted and asked how to apply. They sent me an invoice of $99 usd
I asked why the full discount had not been applied they claimed it was off the original posted price on the website and not the current offered price. I told them it wasn’t communicated that way and that one would obviously assume it’s the posted price. After several attempts I am no further ahead. I picked up an Amazon mirror for $40 and called it a day. At this point they could only gain my trust back is by sending me a new mirror. Such a scam and pollution that they know very well they have this battery issue and don’t offer a solution to replace. Instead throw out the entire thing and get a new one. A joke.

I recently back in April purchased a mirror on sale for $140 through Afterpay with rikilovesriki had I known the horror I would encounter I woukd have never EVER even thought about purchasing through this company !!
Not only did my package not arrive until JUNE ! But it was stolen within minutes of reaching my front door ! Unfortunately when I notified the company of my issue i got not help and was told l had to file a dispute. Which I did. It is now September ALMOST OCTOBER & can you guess who is without a mirror & out of $140 bucks ? ME. Smh Riki’s mirrors are beautiful and though i wish my experience had been different it’s not. And it’s truly unfair because if I had been a celebrity or some sort i almost guarentee i would have gotten a replacement, no questions asked. My advice , be prepared for the worse and hope for the best b/c if your package is stolen Riki defiantly WONT STAND BY HER WORD ABOUT PROTECTING AND REPLACING IT.

I live in Italy and i order my riki Tall mirror with the black friday sale on the official website. With 25% off and free shipping i've paid 310€. It has been shipped on 2 december and arrived on 7 dicember with DHL express from China. I've also paid 32€ of custom taxes. The mirros is wonderful. I'm very happy with my purchese.
