Just read the ingredients. ZERO botanicals just “natural flavors “ water, stevia and preservatives. Joke

If I wanted ditch water I would have saved my money!

This is undrinkable unless you like a mix of vinegar and maple syrup. That is seriously what it tastes like. Until we can do better, I’m drinking the real stuff, I’ll just cut back.

Tried both the Whiskey and the Aperitif versions and both were absolutely undrinkable. Not sure these folks ever tasted the real thing if they think what they are making is potable. Pricey and just awful.

Worse that 1 star. This is the WRST CRAPO I have ever tasted. Worse, I first tried it was a full money back guarantee and when I contacted the company, they basically told me to P-off!! Just fine people!! Your best bet, STAY WAY from this and save your money and your tastebuds!!!

Disappointed Across the Board – RITUAL Non-Alcoholic Spirits Review**
As someone who genuinely enjoys the ritual of cocktail-making and has been trying to cut back on alcohol, I had high hopes for RITUAL's non-alcoholic alternatives. Unfortunately, I returned consistently disappointed after trying the tequila, whiskey, and rum versions.
Let's start with the **tequila alternative** — it has a harsh, synthetic aroma and an oddly peppery aftertaste that tries to mimic alcohol burn but ends up feeling more like a chemical sting. It neither complements mixers well nor stands on its own.
The **whiskey alternative** fared even worse. It lacked even the mildest whiskey's richness, depth, and oaky warmth. Instead, it tasted like watered-down vanilla with an artificial smoky essence thrown in — more like a cheap flavoring syrup than a sippable spirit.
Lastly, the **rum alternative** was perhaps the most tolerable, but still disappointing. Instead of a molasses-forward or spiced complexity, it tasted flat, overly sweet, and thin-bodied. There was no real character to it. In all cases, I felt like I was drinking something trying *too hard* to pretend to be something it's not. I suggest looking elsewhere if you're looking for a satisfying zero-proof spirit. There are better-crafted alternatives on the market.

The whiskey has a smoky peppery taste to it and in my opinion as a non-alcoholic substitute I was not impressed. I will be looking for other options to maybe add (non-alcoholic of course) to bring the taste to where it needs to be

Don't waste your money. Whisky tastes like apple cidar vinegar ! GROSS!

I went to order one to try and realized that the information I was giving was to much in that not only did they have my CC# but also my brother's address in REno. NV. When I tried to cancel this order -it wasn't an option.
I will never deal with this company again

Definitely not for me. Awful. I bought a bottle of gin and whiskey. Neither one was even close to what they were supposed to be emulating. You would think the gin would at the least have an evergreen/piney flavor or aroma. Nope. This was not even a “near” or “almost gin” experience. The whiskey tasted like watered down apple cider with a hint of angostura bitters. Not at all whiskey like. Just no. Ugh.

Well 3/5 stars seems pretty generous to me. I placed my order 8 days ago, paid, it still hasn't shipped and no reply to 3 emails to customer service.

Ordering, delivery and communication were tops. Unfortunately the product is very disappointing. Neither the whiskey nor the gin - even when used in standard cocktails - has an appealing taste. Not really suitable as a substitute.

Subscription orders were charged and paid The products were not delivered and the company Ritual Zero Proof is stone walling me and no phone number for customer support!!

A very disappointing product! It doesn't taste like ANY Whiskey, Bourbon, Rye or Scotch in my experience!

Enjoyed the Ritual Zero Proof Rum, Whisky and Gin alternatives -- but the Aperitif Alternative tasted slightly worse than the cherry cough syrup I remember from my youth. The same chemically bitter taste attempting to hide behind a sickly sweet fluid. Afraid this one really doesn't work. The rum is best, the gin good in G&Ts, the whisky tasty as long as you don't think of it as whisky. Avoid the Aperitif!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with this product. We got the Whiskey Alternative and it is extremely smokey and spicy; it does not taste remotely like whiskey. It’s more like a bad mixer.
Have been trying to get a refund from RZ since the store we bought it from will not refund opened bottles. When I emailed about the problem and it was discovered we bought it at a store and not online, haven’t been able to get a response about a refund for some reason. Hopefully it’s just an oversight, but very unimpressed despite all the “rave reviews”.

I decided to try the bourbon and it was absolutely awful. It smelled like Nyquil honey cough syrup. I initially tried it neat, despite the smell. It literally tasted like very old tea with a hint of spice on the back end. Pretty lousy. I thought, "Fine, I'll make an Old Fashioned with it. Maybe the bitters, orange peel and a little sweetness will help, but it didn't." I've never thrown a drink out, until I tried Ritual Zero Proof "Bourbon". Also, I've never written a review for anything, ever, but in this case I simply had to.

bought 8 bottles, 2 each of their whiskey, rum and dark rums. Opened 4 to taste test, they're AWFUL, bad initial taste and lingering aftertaste. two were heavy sweet. Tried them in mixed cocktails as a substitute for Manhattans and Old Fashioneds they're just gross. per their website, contacted them to make arrangements to return the 4 unopened bottles. no response. Had to email again. finally got a return shipping label. I repackaged them using their original shipping materials and their box and packaged it the exact same way. Took photos as proof of careful packing. Shipped it back. Followed tracking. Once it was delivered game them a week. no refund. emailed them letting them know tracking said it had been received back. no reply. no refund Emailed them AGAIN, finally got a reply that they only refunded me for 3 bottles because 1 arrived damaged and unsellable. I asked for proof of the damaged bottle and sent them pictures of my packaging and asked for a refund for the 4th bottle or proof that it was damaged. No reply so now leaving this review. Do not buy these products. they taste gross, and customer service is nearly non existent.
