Excellent support.
This programme is accurately described in its name and does a good job as a tool to lay out rooms in a floor plan. Just don't expect it to handle ceilings, especially sloped or cathedral ceilings, so it's best not to even try to do this. What is particularly good about RoomSketcher is the technical support. I had a great session via Zoom with Anusha, who really is a brilliant ambassador for the company. She has excellent knowledge of the programme and was able to answer all my questions with screen sharing to make it all clear. There were also email follow ups to the original help session and the response from all technical enquiries has always been first class - probably the best support of any application I've ever experienced.
The only reason I'm not giving RoomSketcher a 5 star review is its inability to move an imported blueprint in the canvas. If you import a blueprint to trace and then want to import a second blueprint to use elements from it to make alterations or additions, the new blueprint cannot be moved relative to the plan you've created, making the task much more difficult. There is a workaround: by adding or removing content from the second plan, with trial and error, you can adjust its position, but it's a very clumsy and slow workaround. This is something which needs to be addressed by RoomSketcher.

TOUGH TO WORK WITH
It was very good to start working with. However, the software's Wall Height Locking feature does NOT, I repeat, NOT hold at all. Heights change repeatedly despite saving the project after each change of wall height. It is very difficult to draw simple but Sloping roofs, especially when more than one room or more than one sloping roof is needed. I may have to cancel because of these difficulties.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you've had some issues with the app. RoomSketcher is not a roof-building tool, and this is why you have struggled. You can create one sloped ceiling or even a cathedral ceiling by changing the wall height, as described in this help article: https://help.roomsketcher.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000563269-How-to-Draw-Sloped-Ceilings. However, once you start changing the wall height all over, it will not work and the walls will change back.
RoomSketcher was made to create bird-view floor plans, not high-level elevations. You can use Live 3D or the Snapshot tool to see the 3D elevation of one level/floor. However, you will not be able to see all levels/floors and the roof.

The purpose of the Free/Pay-as-you option is to understand how the app works in terms of drawing walls, adding materials, and placing furniture. If you feel like it all makes sense to you, you upgrade to a paid subscription to get access to all the features. So yes, the Free option is quite limited. However, you can add some measurements manually by going to Windows etc. Mode and Symbols, Text and Lines. In Walls Mode, when you click on a room you have drawn, you can add the room's square footage by toggling the button in the settings panel on your right. For more advanced measurements, you will need to upgrade to a Pro or Team Subscription.
When upgrading, you can choose the annual option, which costs about 115 euros to have access to the app for an entire year. However, you can also choose the Monthly payment option, which costs about 19 euros. You can cancel either at any time.
I would personally purchase the monthly subscription and try the app with all its features for 30 days. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee so that you can try it for a month, and if you don't like it, you'll get a refund! :D

Easy to use but does not do roof design
It is super easy to use the only reason I wouldn't give it a five star is it doesn't do anything with the roof design. It will show your ceiling in your room but not the roof of the house.

Great program to use when just noodlingâŠ
Great program to use when just noodling ideas and conceptualizing a space. The videos are super helpful and very complete. Still working on how to save and print larger scale drawings to give a builder as guidance, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Intuitive, and the Pro is a good investment to get some nice functionality. Would have been nice to have as an iOS app also, but not a deal breaker. Highly recommend.

I received exceptional tech support from RoomSketcher. Not only was it with a real live person, but it was on Zoom. An hour training where I could ask any questions I had and get real-time step-by-step guidance with screen-sharing. Anushua was incredibly warm, patient and detailed in her guidance. And she followed-up with me a week later to let me know that she is available if/when I need support in the future. By far, the best tech support Iâve ever received. And the application itself has been a game changer in my work with my clients. Prior to this, I was painstakingly drawing and redrawing floor plans. Definitely worth the annual subscription! I have searched the web for an intuitive, east to use platform to play around with designs for my extension.
When architects want to charge you £2k - £3k for drawings, the £94 for an annual subscription, opening up so much more functionality, is a no brainer.

Great product for capturing my ideas
Great product. I was looking for a simple yet effective tool to help layout a bathroom remodel project I was working on. Room Sketcher had the features and simplicity to help me get up and running quickly (I'm not an architect or a designer, and even calling myself a DIYer is a bit of a stretch). In my head, I knew what I wanted things to look like, but this tool gave me the ability to put my ideas down on paper in a way that I could communicate with my contractor. Just what I needed.

Roomsketcher has an old 2004 technology feel.
Roomsketcher functions like a software created in the 90's. Menu driven, not intuitive. It doesn't have any of the modern features that you would expect in a modern-day software written in the last 10 years. It does work, so I gave it a 2.

The software is not bad but support forâŠ
The software is not bad but support for subscription is REALLY BAD. There is no phone number to call to fix subscription issues. In my case I want to upgrade but unclear what I need to do and no option to find out if they will credit the money I just paid today for it. You cannot use the 360 feature with the Premium package so you have to buy the Pro package. Also, there are very limited objects provided for walls, windows, materials, and furniture. You really need to upgrade to Pro to get it all and not sure what you get because they don't show you. I guess this is a "pay for the year" and see if the content included in the Pro version is much better.

Use a better option!
At first glance, RoomSketcher appears to be a solid, service-oriented program. We intended to use it to create an evacuation plan but encountered several issues that made it challenging to recommend.
Firstly, the "Blueprint" feature disappeared, causing our drawings to become fragmented or "lost." There was no straightforward layout or template suggestion, which would have saved significant time on details and easily have been automated or presented as options. Instead, a substantial amount of time was spent drawing individual elements that should have been simplified or at least supported with ready-made templates.
Another downside is that you must download the program to use it, creating a two-part setup process. It remains unclear why this split approach is necessary, as it would be far more convenient to have a streamlined, single-step setup. Additionally, having the flexibility to work offline or in the cloud would enhance usability and adaptability for various needs.
In light of these limitations, we recommend considering other programs or services that offer a more efficient, user-friendly experience for creating plans like these.
It all comes down to the program's interface and how much time you will spend "banging your head" in the wall, looking for solutions! Sorry, in 2024, this should be a "no brainer"!

I'm sorry to hear you were not satisfied with RoomSketcher. We are grateful for your feedback, and I would like to address some of your concerns.
The blueprint you uploaded does "hide" if you close the app mid-project. To get it back, simply open the project where you originally uploaded the blueprint, click on the orange menu in the top left corner, and then click "Blueprint" under View. It will reappear. It is never gone, only hiding.
We do in fact offer a wide variety of ready-made templates that you can open and edit in the app. You'll find them all here: https://www.roomsketcher.com/floor-plan-gallery/
However, if you are creating the electrical plan for an existing property, you will have to draw that exact floor plan. Or, you can save time by ordering it from us. Then, all you have to do is open the floor plan in the app and add your electrical symbols!
The upside of having an app is that you can, in fact, work offline, which would not be possible with a web-based solution. Use your laptop or tablet offline in the field to draw the initial structure, and then open the project on your computer at the office to finish the job.
