Awful company , looked for a chain for a saw online , wasn’t on there so called them , they said they have it but want £5.00 if I order over the phone or online cheaper , they messed up by not putting online then wanted me to pay through the nose .

I've bought chainsaw blades and oil from Rotatech without issue.

I then decided to buy a woodchipper. That's when I found out that Rotatech consists of only three people, of whom only one seems to work each day.

The woodchipper isn't by Rotatech at all. It's Rato by Chongqing Rato Technology Co. Ltd. It's jointly branded Rato and Rotatech.

The chipper won't start. The manual is useless; it's just the usual Chinese nonsense.

I can't even find a battery on the chipper, and a virtually meaningless diagram in the so-called manual suggests an external battery, which isnt stated or shown on the Rotatech website. There's no apparent battery connection on the chipper.

The chipper is badly designed. It took some ingenuity to put oil in.

The Rotatech website states the maximum diameter of wood the machine is designed to take to be both 100mm and 80mm. The Chongqing manual states 150mm. I sent an email to Rotatech seeking clarification. No response.

I called several times and eventually spoke to the only man at Rotatech today, who hadn't a clue about the operation of the woodchipper and said I'd need to speak to the fellow I emailed earlier today who hadn't answered.

I'm very disappointed. I feel I've been hoodwinked.

I'll see what Rotatech has to say but I think a problem lays on the horizon for them.

This is just a micro company that imports Chinese products available to other companies and lazily rebrands them as Rotatech.

Regardless of how this machine ultimately performs, if I keep it, I won't be using Rotatech again; it hasn't the size or capacity to provide any customer service.

I'd avoid it if I were you.

UPDATE

I got the woodchipper running and almost immediately smoke started billowing from either the clutch or drive belt, or both. I don't know which without removing the cover.

I'm awaiting a call from Rotatech. I'm beyond annoyed.
