After a lot of research and careful consideration, I decided to trust Dr. Rowan with my veneers and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The results are absolutely stunning and super natural, exactly what I hoped for. Dr. Rowan took the time to understand every one of my preferences and not a single detail was overlooked.
From start to finish, the communication was exceptional. Living in the UK and travelling all the way to Rio for this treatment, I needed to feel confident that everything would go smoothly and on schedule and it did.

Procurei o Dr. Vilar depois que uma faceta que eu havia feito em outro país se soltou. Ele teve muito cuidado ao recolocá-la e sugeriu que eu fizesse uma radiografia completa, já que fazia alguns anos desde o último exame. O raio-X revelou uma coroa defeituosa com cárie e excesso de cimento sob a gengiva — ambos resultantes de um tratamento anterior feito no exterior.
O Dr. Vilar foi meticuloso, detalhista e incansável em buscar um resultado perfeito. Ele substituiu a coroa e garantiu que minhas gengivas ficassem totalmente limpas e saudáveis. Também teve o cuidado de agendar todos os atendimentos em poucos dias, permitindo que todo o procedimento fosse concluído rapidamente. The Best Dentist!
Dr. Rowan is a life-saver. I had several teeth break during an accident and he was able to restore and improve my smile. The result is incredibly natural and beautiful. Dr. Rowan is also incredibly patient and empathetic. He tries to make you as comfortable as possible, walks you through every step of the process, explains what he’s doing and why he’s doing it, and gives you a considerable amount of choice in the process. He also truly has your best interest at heart. There were times when I requested additional services (which would have meant more money for him) and he advised against it because he felt it wouldn’t have been the right course of action at this time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Rowan to anyone! 10/10 experience.

I found Dr. Rowan by googling dentists in Rio, and he had the highest rating with so many satisfied patients – and now I know why. My first visit went perfectly. He is incredibly friendly and truly cares about his patients. He takes the time to make sure you understand what’s going to happen and explains everything clearly.
It doesn’t feel like just a simple transaction – you can really tell he wants the best for his patients. The results I got were far beyond my expectations, and I can genuinely and wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Rowan.
And the neighborhood is a safe place.

Great experience at the clinic
I had a great experience at the clinic with Dr. Rowan. I came in with a tooth infection and was treated quickly and efficiently. Dr. Rowan is clearly very knowledgeable in his field and made me feel confident and well taken care of throughout the entire process. What I really appreciated is that I was able to communicate in both English and Spanish, which made everything much easier and more comfortable. Highly recommend both the clinic and Dr. Rowan!

I came to Dr. Rowan with many concerns, after not going to the dentist for many years due to anxiety about dentists.
Dr. Rowan, with patience, gentleness and understanding, helped me overcome my anxieties.
From a simple treatment of teeth cleaning and treatment of 2 cavities I had, I completed a process of replacing old fillings with new ones, teeth whitening and I must say that my anxieties are over.
Dr. Rowan is highly recommended, he is the first dentist I feel comfortable going to.

As someone from the USA who was initially skeptical about getting dental treatment abroad, I can confidently say that my experience with Dr. Rowan and his assistant Gabriel was absolutely superb!
I was in search of a good dentist in Rio de Janeiro and had heard numerous horror stories about medical treatments abroad, which made me quite apprehensive. However, from the moment I stepped into Dr. Rowan's office in Ipanema, all my concerns were put to rest.
The office was incredibly comfortable and welcoming, far exceeding the standards I have experienced in the USA. Dr. Rowan and Gabriel were not only highly knowledgeable and attentive but also treated me with a level of care that went beyond the typical doctor-patient relationship. I’d been wanting to get veneers for years. I never liked the look of my teeth despite going through both braces and Invisalign. They were uneven, small, and chipped and because of that I rarely showed my teeth when smiling for photos. I had been saving pictures of what I wanted my dream smile to look like for years and after lots of research and seeing what Dr. Rowan, Dr. Gabriel, and the team had accomplished in the past, I knew if anyone could give me my dream smile, it was them. I originally assumed I would find someone close to me in NYC to do my teeth, but after a friend mentioned they had gotten their teeth done by Dr. Rowan and I saw how fantastic those looked, I got in touch with him. Dr. Rowan met with me for hours and then was in communication with me for weeks leading up to my trip to Rio. Throughout that time he explained in incredible detail the technology they used, which is very advanced, and the overall process and what to expect. He took into account every aspect of what I wanted in my dream smile. Seeing that they were capable of, it was an obvious decision for me to go with them versus someone closer to home. Dr. Rowan and his team are not only more talented than anyone I could find in the U.S., they are also the most considerate, patient, and caring team I’ve ever come across. You do not get this kind of dedicated care in the U.S., in any medical field.
Dr. Gabriel did my procedure while in Rio and carefully paid attention to the features of each individual tooth. He is an artist! For countless hours across a few days in the office (and through a weekend so that I could come to Rio on a quick trip from Thursday to Sunday and go home with a completed smile) he diligently worked on each tooth until and did not quit until my smile was perfect. I still cannot believe how natural each tooth looks. My result is better than any of the pictures I sent them in the planning process! I will be smiling big in all of my future photos! All of my happy moments will have a piece of them in it now! They have an incredibly caring team that were there every day dedicated to making sure my experience was fantastic, and it was!
I’m usually a much more private person about this stuff, but they all are way too amazing to not share what an incredible experience and end result this was. It would be cruel to have a team dedicate this much time and attention and create such a perfect work of art and not share it with the world so everyone can know what they’re capable of!! Plus, I’m so happy with it that I’ve been telling everyone I see lol. My family and friends are obsessed with how it came out! My parents both have porcelain veneers and I’m sure will be coming here for their new future sets. They are blown away by the time and dedication to excellence this office has!

We travelled for carnaval to Rio and…
We travelled for carnaval to Rio and while visiting, we had Dr.Rowan treat us and we have now a complete customized bleaching system.
We communicated via WhatsApp and email. Dr. Rowan speaks perfect english which helps! We recommend him. We give him 5 stars.
