I preface this by saying it is meant at constructive feedback and I hope it is received as such.

I ordered a car seat from safe journey car seats as support and advice around installation is advertised as part of the service. I even message the website chat to double check that I would be able to get advice after purchasing and I was told yes it’s part of the service.

After purchasing I reached out on the website chat, after over a week I got nothing back I reached out on social media and email as I was unsure if the messages on the chat were going through.
Someone then got back to me straight away and then after I had messaged back to ask for advice I got nothing back, still to this day. This has been all over the period of about a month.

I completely understand that this business is ran by a Mom that might have other priorities and might not be able to get back to customers straight away but during this period there was little to no communication. I am also a Mom who is anxious about the safety of her child and this is why I ordered from this particular business as I was assured support but I have essentially been ghosted.

I wouldn’t not buy from safe journey car seats again as I was told I would get support and received nothing, which is quite disappointing.

I believe there is an issue with communication that needs to be addressed. Even if a potential timeframe was given for replies so customers would not be left completely in the dark, anxious that their child is not completely safe in the car seat purchased, or that the promise of advice should come with a disclaimer that it might not be possible to receive that service all together as if I knew this I would’ve purchased elsewhere.

*Respectfully, I sent multiple pictures and gave multiple nudges, on the chat and through email and social media, the negative review is reflective of my experience.

I have bought all my children's seats from Sarah, from newborn to high back booster. Great advice and support along the way. Very quick delivery. Highly recommend.

Do not buy from this company!

I ordered a car seat on 22 January. I didn’t receive a confirmation but had been charged. After a few days wait, I sent a message on Instagram only to be told there was a ‘glitch’ in the system and I should have received an email to say the item was out of stock. I was told that more stock would come in the following week.

To no one’s surprise, the week passed and no car seat arrived and no further communication received. I’ve tried emailing and sending social media messages asking for a refund. All messages are being ignored. In the meantime, the same car seat is still available to order on the website.

I’ve had to order the car seat from another retailer and I’m left out of pocket by over £200 while I fight to get my money back. Despicable behaviour.

I brought a car seat from SJCS’s, from the initial contact to receiving my car seat I was well informed on what I should buy given the age and weight of my child, I was also updated on my delivery so I could easily be available in and around work to recieve my car seat. Overall I’ve had a fantastic experience with Safe Journey and il be purchasing again when my new family addition arrives in the Summer

Sarah has been absolutely amazing. From the second I contacted her she’s been so helpful to an anxious FTM. I’ve asked so many questions and felt like a right pain but she has been so reassuring. The seat arrived next day, which was so quick and little one is so much more settled in her seat! No more stressful and upset car journeys! Thank you!!!

Terrible communication! I’ve never known a company so difficult to contact. Did not state item was out of stock at point of ordering, it took 2 weeks of waiting and chasing to be told they didn’t even have the items I purchased in stock. I then waited another 2 weeks with still no update on my order. Only now have I had my order cancelled today and my money refunded after I submitted a dispute via PayPal as I was sick of having my calls, emails and messages ignored. I’m very disappointed as I have previously made a purchase from this company with no issues. Customer service has taken a significant nose dive which is evident from other reviews. Hopefully the company makes some changes to change this.

Recently ordered a Mac safe pro luxe. After having the axkid minikid2 for a while my little one complained her back was hurting so upgraded to the max safe pro. She’s much happier now. Lots more room too with the spacer than came with it. Happy baby happy mum! I did ask a few questions before ordering and the staff got straight back to me and answered them straight away. Perfect communication and was sent pretty quick considering it was over the Xmas period. We also got the seat at a great price (it was an open box) which suited my budget even better. Won’t have any problems recommending anyone to come here to buy a car seat for the children. Thanks again

I recently purchased an avionaut stardust for my daughter from Safe Journey Car Seats. Delivery was a little delayed due to Christmas and the bad weather and then stock issues with the inserts but communication was great and I was kept updated on the order. Once dispatched it arrived very quickly and is an amazing seat. The fit check and installation support is amazing also. I'd definitely recommend Safe Journey Car Seats to anyone. Thank you 😊

Hi Sarah. Yes I did order from you, it's order 8090. You emailed me about it in October to say the colour we had chosen wasn't going to be in stock until mid November and I've heard nothing since. It feels quite unprofessional to insinuate that I've got the wrong company...especially when I've contacted you numerous ways with no reponse. I will email you again today, please reply to that. I previously bought a car seat through this company and had an excellent experience. However on buying a second car seat in October, I was told it was due to be delivered mid-November and I accepted the delay. It is now mid-December and I have no car seat and there has been zero communication about the futher delay to delivery. I've tried all the possible ways of contacting the company with no response. I hope to get a refund and take my business elsewhere. Very frustrating experience.

I recently purchased the Britax Discovery and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. The delivery was smooth and on time, and the fitting service was absolutely brilliant. Sarah was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly, answering all of my questions with patience and detail. The car seat itself feels safe and sturdy, and having it professionally fitted gave me complete peace of mind. Excellent service from start to finish – I’d highly recommend both the seat and the fitting service

I ordered a car seat cover on 23rd August, listed as “in stock.” Their FAQ states accessories are dispatched within 5 days, but my order wasn’t sent. My dispatch email vaguely said “a little longer,” which I was fine to wait for. What I wasn’t fine with was the poor customer service and lack of accountability that followed when I followed up to ask when I'd receive my order a week later.

I didn't get a response via email, so after waiting a couple more days I sent a message via Instagram. They replied, but not professionally. Instead they were defensive rather than simply solving the problem. I was told there was a “glitch” with my order, that I should have chased sooner, and at one point was told “I’ll need to add on the shipping”, after I had already purchased. I was later assured in writing that my item would arrive “by the end of the week” (first week of September). Another week has nearly passed after it should have arrived, and I still don’t have the order, any confirmation as to when it'll arrive, and tracking details have not been updated.

These issues are ultimately the retailer’s responsibility, and the way they are handled makes a big difference to customer experience. I appreciate that the owners are mums, but so are the customers buying from them, and a certain level of professionalism is required to avoid situations like this.

Edited to add: It clearly states my review was submitted on 11th September, and the item was delivered a few days after this. The fact that you focus on this in your response shows your lack of professionalism and defensiveness, your focus is on the wrong thing in order to push back at the customer. The fact is that the item arrived 3 weeks after purchase, and a whole week after you directly later promised. Once a sale has been made you can't add on extra costs - so you didn't 'waive' the postage price - I am unsure why you keep mentioning this like you did me a favour, you didn't.

I have bought four car seats from Safe Journey Car Seats and have always received excellent service and remote advice. I feel confident that my children are travelling in the safest possible way and know I can always send a message to the team if I have any questions, particularly relating to ERF.

Ordered a grey avionaut max space hbb seat which was described as new but with an opened box so slightly reduced in price.
The website stated ‘free next day delivery’ which was excellent as I needed the seat fairly soon for a trip. I see since I ordered that the website has now been changed to ‘free next day delivery on MOST car seats’ it did not say this when I placed my order but glad this has been changed now to avoid other customers having the same experience I did.
A day later I received an invoice for an extra £20 for shipping costs to Northern Ireland. No where on the website did it state there would be an additional charge. NI is in the UK not Ireland. I emailed back to query this and was ignored. As I hadn’t received a response I paid the additional fee as I really needed the seat quickly. I received a shipping notification the next day. After checking the tracking link a number of times it still stated my order hadn’t actually shipped. I emailed to query this a week later and received no response. I then left a comment on instagram a few days later to try and receive a response, my comment was deleted but I was sent a quite curt dm and was told emails aren’t monitored daily and that I should have used social media to contact?!
I was then told that apparently my order had been shipped but that it just hadn’t been scanned by dpd and that this happens sometimes. (the order still hasn’t arrived nearly a month later so I find this a little unlikely) I was told an investigation with dpd had been opened but I could have a black car seat instead. I responded explaining I’d specifically needed grey please as black fabric gets too hot in the summer and received no response back. I had to chase for a response a week later to be offered a completely different seat than I’d ordered or pay a higher price for a different colour than black?! At this point I requested a refund to allow me to order the correct seat at a different retailer. I was then offered to preorder the seat in grey from a batch arriving in at some point in the future but declined this as I’d lost faith in this retailer due to the experience above and had ran out of time to wait for a preordered seat as it was now 3 weeks after my initial order was placed.

I totally appreciate that some parcels go missing, that’s just life but it was the lack of customer service, communication or even an apology which I found very disappointing. I sadly wouldn’t recommend ordering from this retailer, particularly if you’re based in NI and I can see from other trust pilot reviews I’m sadly not the only one who’s had an experience like this.

We’ve been loyal to Safe Journey Car Seats for so long, I’m starting to suspect they know my kids’ growth spurts better than I do. We’ve bought three seats so far—first the Axkid One 2 for our eldest, then the Axkid Move for our panel van (because apparently vans have strong opinions), and now the Britax Römer Kidfix Pro high-back booster. At this rate, we’ll still be buying from them when the kids are packing for university.

When the One 2 moved on to little brother, Safe Journey didn’t just wave us off—they kept checking the fit like proud seat godparents. Finding someone who understands ERF in a panel van felt impossible, but Sarah not only found the perfect (Axkid) Move, she also gave us an installation masterclass (with saint-like patience).

And then came the high-back booster emergency. I’m that mum who researches until my eyes cross, but Safe Journey calmly answered every question—even from a distance. People assume high-back boosters are straightforward, but they still need proper fitting. Thankfully, Safe Journey’s after-sales care is just as rock-solid (and reassuring) as their seats.

I have now bought 4 car seats from Safe Journey Car seats. When our daughter was just a year old we realised our current seats were not safe. A quick trip to visit and buy a new seat which was fitted and a great demonstration given on how to use!
We then have bought 3 more since online, chatting in-between about getting the correct seat for our growing daughter and they are always so quick to reply to my never ending messages about fit as she grows!
I have recommended to many friends across the country and will continue to - Thanks for all your help.

I bought 2 x Axkid Nextkid off safe journey car seats and I’m absolutely thrilled with them. The delivery, service and product has been fantastic. I now feel that I can drive around knowing both my children are safe. Both children have said the seats are very comfy which is a bonus. I definitely recommend buying from this company if you want good communication and service with top quality products.
