underwhelming
So far I don't rate Salted line very highly. I've had my housing for about 2 weeks. When the zoom gear is installed and I clamp the housing shut it forces the camera to turn on. After that the on/off switch won't work and the on/off adapter falls off in the housing when you toggle the switch.
I contacted customer support (they take around 2 days to respond each time) and was told send a video of the problem, which I did.
After a couple of days I got an email telling me to push on the on/off adapter to prevent it falling off and do i need a video showing how to install it correctly. I had watched the setup video and had it installed correctly but annoyed I said I obviously needed the tutorial so sure, send the video.
They then sent an email without a video telling me to watch the video.
I emailed back and got the video showing how to install the on/off adapter which was useless to me because I was putting it on properly anyway. I told them this in an email and reminded them that the issue was the camera turning on when I closed the housing and they replied telling me to put the zoom gear in the housing before i put the camera in. This is also useless information because you can clearly see and hear me showing the zoom gear in the housing before I put my camera in, in the initial video I sent. At this point I am thinking that the customer support is so bad that they must actually be joking. When you spend $1000 on something you expect it's basic functions to work. I'm currently regretting no spending the extra on aquatech. To be fair, the housing works correctly without the zoom gear but the overall experience of has been fairly underwhelming.
