What made my trip incredible was the breathtaking nature and fresh air, being able to walk through the jungle, the amazing people I met, and the time I had to disconnect and reconnect with both nature and myself.

I visited Savimbo’s office and headquarter in Villagarzon in December 2024. I got to know the great work they are doing by preserving the nature and balance of the Colombian Amazonian rainforest from an innovative perspective that empowers the native indigenous people living there. This is a truly unique project!

Savimbo's accomplishments in just a couple years are simply amazing! I love following their journey on social media. I don't think I've ever witnessed more dedicated and hard-working staff ANYWHERE.

My experience with Drea from Savimbo was highly disappointing. Despite leading a nonprofit, their approach was marked by hostility and harsh communication, making interactions difficult and unprofessional. Effective leadership, especially in the nonprofit sector, should be rooted in respect and collaboration. Unfortunately, this organization did not reflect those values in my experience.

In my perception, Savimbo is creating with their work, a new economical & cultural paradigm to the benefit of the communities of Putumayo Colombia, as well as the benefit of all of us, through the great work of conservation of the jungle!

I had the great opportunity to be in the jungle as an attendee and as a host of our retreats with the sacred medicine given by Taita Fernando, Taita Leonidas and Taita Avelino, twice. First time at the beginning of the year, and once again in September of this year!

The progress I’ve witnessed in the work Drea and the entire team at Savimbo is doing, is really impressive! The amount of enthusiasm and motivation for their work, the commitment and diligence for the jungle and its conservation, the generosity and kindness with which I’ve been received, it’s so infectious and inspiring! I am forever grateful and looking forward to support as much as possible! I kindly invite you to take a look at the great work Savimbo is doing for our planet & its people, and contribute the best you can!

Drea is the most energetic and dedicated founder I've ever met. Whatever she sets her hands to, you can trust she'll find a way to accomplish.

For the cost of a price of coffee we could all be contributing to legitimate climate change action that has direct impact. What Drea Burbank and the team have built is not only genius - it's a win/win for EVERYONE involved.

Savimbo is doing incredible things for the Amazon rainforest and our planet.

n March 2023 I met Drea Burbank during the Community of Practice group from Grace Rachmany. As I have been following the carbon credit community of Sylvera, I have a critical eye for businesses claiming their ability to measure sequestered carbon. From Chris Lang of the REDD Monitor I have learned that Sylvera is not capable of evaluating their member organizations as they claim. The Savimbo paradigm of relying on ancient time tested indigenous wisdom for establishing biodiversity credits, or even carbon credit ratings is superior to the superficial extrapolations that the Sylvera community count on.

Great initiative, helping farmers so they can continue to support their lands, families, animals, clean water, and pristine forests.

Trustworthy, and game changing.

Clearly grounded in indigenous wisdom and practice with focus on nature and it’s intrinsic value to all life on this planet. Priorities and values are inherently and immutably regenerative, with constant advocacy to bring about systems change that ensures finance is aligned with those values (not the other way round!) The world needs many more groups and projects like this.

I met Fernando and Lizandro in the Putumayo Amazon jungle near Villagarzon. They told me about the photographic monitoring of biodiversity and how it is working. They have photographed so many jaguars and other species. Later I visited them in their office at Villagarzon where I met a few other young members of the team, analyzing photographs. It is very inspiring to see how commited these people are to talking care of their environment and really protecting wildlife.

Savimbo has all my admiration because its conservation has the unique mechanism that I believed. It works with and for the indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest territory.
