Be very careful with Scratchpay’s “6-month interest waived” promotion.

I financed about $10,000 for emergency back surgery for my dog and made large payments every month (around $1,000). I assumed the promotion meant you wouldn’t pay interest during those six months.

What I learned is that the interest is actually accruing the entire time in the background. If the loan is not fully paid off within the six-month window, all of that interest is added retroactively.

In my case, the promotion ended and about $1,200 in interest was added to my balance. I called within four days and offered to pay the remaining balance in full if they could make a courtesy adjustment, but I was told nothing could be done.

I understand the terms now, but the promotion can be misleading if you don’t realize that the interest is still building the entire time. Just something for others to be aware of before choosing this financing option.

Our dog needed surgery and we didn't have the money to pay for it. It was such a relief and convenient to get the money we needed seamlessly from Scratch Pay.

The plan is easy to apply for and offers a really affordable option when needing to care for our fur babies. I'll more than likely be using Scratchpay again.

I have been using scratchpay for about a year now. I wish more vets would use this payment method. Super simple and I have better success getting approved for Scratchpay than CareCredit. I have two old senior dogs which mean many expensive visits to the vet. Thank you SP! Do not change, your program is great.

While I appreciate the loan, I did not like how the payments were not broken up in such a way as to avoid a finance charge. I was given 6 months at 0% but the payments were broken up into 12 payments. When I tried to set up auto payments at a higher amount to accomplish paying it off in 6 months, the system would (as well as a customer service representative) would not allow me to do so. I had to remember to go into the system each month and make a higher payment.

Easy setup and convenient to help with vet bills that are way too high.
