1 star for the original service and their initial attitude...upgraded to 3 stars for bringing the matter to a close...albeit rather reluctantly.

I learnt about this service through using ChatGPT after being told my landline was being taken out of service by PlusNet as part of their digital switch over. I went to the Secondring website and immediately set up a VoIP service for £2.50 a month and bought from them the adapter box that enabled me to connect my existing digital Panasonic phone into my internet router. The adapter came in the post by a tracked RM service within days. I then requested my original home phone number be ported to this VoIP service. Secondring handled all of that once I completed a digital letter of authorisation. Within days I was up and running with this new service. Everything worked out of the box. I now have call screening as a free part of the service to deter spammers and I can also through an app. Mobyx answer my home phone number via my mobile. The best part is I’m saving about £20 a month and have a more useable service whilst still retaining my home phone number. I wish I’d switches years ago to VoIP. The customer service of this company is also very responsive by email or phone.

For the price it is quite a good service, with a few rough edges.
It's affordable, and after testing it is proving to be good solution at there price range.

The web management interface has quite a lot that can be worked upon, and more than ample for most. Can be a little frustrating if you need help as you have to submit a form and wait up to 24 hrs for a reply.

I use a desktop VoIP phone and the sip settings were nowhere to be found on their website without having to contact support.
Number transfer was ok which took about 7 days.

The service as a whole is a good service, and the default voicemail to email solution is one I am a fan of. A website information page would be helpful in the future to provide better and more logical support for setting up SIP/VoIP desktop phones or even someone to chat to over the phone.

Secondring is a good service. It's affordable, and of my limited testing it has proven a good solution if you want a cheap VoIP setup.

The web management interface has quite a lot that can be worked upon, however. It feels a little janky in some places, with anything more than changing your voicemail being done by submitting a form that is manually reviewed with a 24 hour lead time.

I also use a desktop VoIP phone and the credentials were again nowhere to be found on the web UI, without having to contact support. I ended up finding them in the SIP log of their partner app, as that was the only way to find them when I needed them. The setup keys in the settings area of the website would be a much better solution.

The service as a whole is a good service, providing a large sample of numbers to choose from if you are picking up a number from their site, and the default voicemail to email solution is one I am a fan of. I just home that the web panel will be overhauled in the future to provide better and more logical support for most SIP/VoIP functions.

I have moved from another IP phone service to Secondring. Transfer happened perfectly including support to change the settings on my base station.

Very Poor Service

Extremely disappointing experience. The contract was confirmed over the phone and then confirmed again in writing via WhatsApp. I paid for the service for the full year based on those agreed terms.

However, immediately after payment, I was told that the account had somehow been set up as pay-as-you-go, and I was then repeatedly asked for additional money. The person I was dealing with kept throwing different prices at me and changing the terms after I had already made payment.

What makes this even worse is that, despite not using the service at all, I was not given a full refund.

This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I have had. The agreement was clear before payment, but once they had my money, the story and pricing suddenly changed. I have the WhatsApp messages confirming what was agreed, so there is no confusion about the original arrangement.

I would strongly advise anyone considering using this company to get absolutely everything in writing and think twice before making any payment. Very poor communication, constantly changing prices, and an unacceptable approach to refunds.

Second Ring has been fantastic and I would highly recommend them. We wanted a simple to fit VoiP phone service for our elderly relatives with well priced fees and they have truly delivered. Adaptor came next day and was plug and play into a standard internet router plus a regular phone. Works seamlessly. They also set up the necessary 999/111 emergency services as well.

a fairly new company it seems - but their pricing is unmatched. Purchased our business phone number and would be coming back for more. Smooth experience so far! Looking forward.

This is a very new and very small company. We are in the process of giving up our landline and wanted a low cost service to handle any residual incoming calls. I was fed up with paying £11 a month for a VOIP service that was essentially unused. Secondring at £2.50 a month does exactly what is claimed. Number porting went smoothly and the app on the mobile works well and is easy to use.

Having recently switched my home VoIP service to Secondring, I’ve had a very positive experience. Their customer service is excellent, and the pricing is both competitive and flexible.

The mobile app is easy to use — signing up, choosing a plan, and getting started all took just a few minutes. The support team was very helpful and guided me through configuring my existing analogue adapter via WhatsApp.

Number porting was also smooth and completed in under 7 days, even with a long public holiday weekend, after submitting a simple online form.

Overall, a reliable and efficient service — highly recommended.
