I used to use them exclusively until I ran into a problem. I booked an Air Canada flight, which they advertised as a "standard economy", however after paying it turned out to be "basic economy". The difference is you can't take carry-ons with the basic, or change seats. I really only wanted the carry-on. I called them and they opened a ticket, and said someone would get back to me. After a few weeks I called again. They rudely told me to wait for someone to call back. No one ever called back. The rep also told me, too bad I should have paid attention. I tried to show them a snapshot of where it said "Standard Economy". They didn't care. I will never book through them again.

My husband and I booked our trip to England yesterday. Jason Andre helped us.He was awesome, friendly, helpful.

They are scammers and thieves do not purchase from them they are not trying to help you go on vacation just steal your money.

This is a case of false advertising and failure to advise of construction on the Dreams Cap Cana all-inclusive resort and spa property’s beachfront. My claim was submitted upon my return over one year ago, in February 2025. After a formal complaint and subsequent request to escalate my claim in May 2025, Air Canada Vacations (ACV) and Sell Off Vacations have failed to compensate for the misrepresentation and failure to provide services as advertised.

I submitted my claim in Feb. 2025 and was notified in May 2025 that my request was denied. Both parties failed to provide compensation and so I subsequently requested that the claim be escalated — only to wait an additional 9 months for the same response in March 2026. I want to ensure that other travellers are aware of potential advertising scams and the lack of accountability on behalf of all parties in this case. Neither the seller, supplier, or hotel have acted in good faith and customers seemingly have no recourse despite the obvious misrepresentation and lack of compliance. All-Inclusive Travel Package: Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic)

Hotel: Hyatt

Situation:

Upon arrival at the resort, I discovered that the beach — a central feature of the all-inclusive package promotional ads — was completely closed and inaccessible due to major repairs. The area was taped off as a safety hazard and had clearly been under repair for an extended period of time. To add, as per videorecorded proof (available upon request), the presence of heavy machinery on the beach and the sound of drilling throughout our stay at the resort were extremely disruptive. This situation was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase nor prior to my departure, despite the fact that the issue had been a longstanding one according to the hotel concierge. To add, the ACV customer service representatives I spoke to both on site and via phone failed to provide a reasonable solution (i.e. I was quoted $7000+ to relocate to another hotel within Punta Cana citing a ‘cancellation penalty’). The hotel offered a poolside ‘Bali’ bed for a day, valued at $50/day as compensation, which I politely declined given the situation.

The beach access was a material component of the package I purchased, and its unavailability constitutes a failure to deliver essential services as advertised. Under Québec consumer protection law, this amounts to a misrepresentation of services, as I was not informed of a major limitation that significantly impacted the quality and value of the package.

I requested appropriate compensation for this failure, specifically:

A partial or full refund of the package price to reflect the loss of the beachfront amenity, or

An equivalent monetary credit applicable to future travel.

Neither ACV or Sell Off Vacations has returned my call and requests to speak to a live rep after numerous attempts.

I spoke with several agents but one stood out. Her name was Loan Bui. She was knowledgeable and helpful. She provided a lot of info that many agents Don't bother telling their customers. She was someone I felt confident about. She's in Edmonton Alberta.

I have been through back and forth with my selloffvacations - regarding my Cuba package refund . Tha travel advisory which the government has issued. To halt all travel to Cuba ..They advertised easy and automatic refund to the credit card as stated in their website.
I’ve been advised that there had been technical disruptions in processing the refund at day 12 . I called the customer service and was stalled , unable to provide a decent update on my refund and no one can tell me what was going on. I was then contacted by a a manager to say that it’s been issued in the mail in a form of a cheque. Until this date the cheque has not arrived. It’s now close to day 21 Since the agreement- Very frustrated and ready to go to the better business bureau!!
“Poor communication,training, lack of ownership in resolving matters”

My wife and I booked a trip to Mexico for 2 weeks in the Riviera Maya. Our package was for flights, shuttle, and two weeks at an all-inclusive resort. We booked through Selloff Vacations for a package sold by Sunwing.

One critical factor was this resort was advertised as including kayaking and paddleboarding!
This is what sold us on the particular package we booked, because neither of us consumes alcohol and so an all-inclusive only makes sense if we have something to make up for the built-in cost of the drinks.

Our flight with Westjet was fine, though we got switched seats and weren't sitting next to each other. The shuttle from the airport to the resort was awful; the organization was poor and the wait time was over 2 hours.
The resort itself (Grand Oasis Riviera, aka Grant Oasis Tulum) was very nice. We arrived before the high season and so things were relatively quiet. They were still in the process of performing some renovations in another section of the resort but it didn't impact us too much.
The Kayaking and Paddleboarding, however, was not available. We asked the day after we arrived and were told it wasn't available yet. We asked a few days later to see if they had started it up, but again no dice.

Finally, I realized that the Concierge service at that hotel is run via Whatsapp and I asked them in text to book Kayaking. I got IN WRITING that the service was unavailable. Just to confirm I asked if Paddleboarding was available. Again, they wrote back the services were not available.

When presented with this evidence Sunwing refused to acknowledge it, said "The resort says the service is available"
They also claimed that if it was unavailable it was "due to weather conditions" but if you look at the weather reports for the period of 2025-12-09 to 2025-12-23; the weather was practically perfect.
Sunwing refused to refund us any cost since we had to pay to do these activities ourselves.

We put a credit dispute on the credit card and since this was booked through SellOffVacations, they refused to honor the fact that their agent lied to us and clawed back the money.

We even spoke to an agent from SOV and they claimed we would be banned from flying for having a credit card dispute.

Totally dishonest nonsense and horrible customer service. Since our credit card sucks, we may need to go to the extent of small claims court to get our money back.

I gave a 1 star because there is no option for 0. Very deceiving information on the site. When you try to book the price doubles. Never recommend this site to anyone.

When i spoke with customer service she asked me to send the screenshot of the price I did . She said it only showed to adults. It was only for pricing purposes to show I was over priced as i was charged a higher price . I gave her what she asked and she still didn't honor the proper price . Please do yourself a favor in the future and price your trip elsewhere. I've booked many trips over the years and have never had a problem this was my first and last time with selloff vacation. Everything ive said is true aswell as on the telephone recording . If I could leave a negative star rating I would . This place doesn't honor the price or the discounted price that is to be honored at the time of booking as it clearly is stated online . This wasn't a cheap trip it was close to 13k aswell as bag charge. Never again . Wow only if I had of looked at the reviews before booking with them . The name of the agent is mentioned in the same review on here . She believes she doesn't make mistakes and the customer service is completely on the side of the agent so save your energy and frustrations and book with a reliable agent from air transit ive never had a problem 10 years in a row . I will not make the same mistake again to try and save a hundred bucks a person . Not worth the time or effort. Happy holidays to all book a stress free holiday with air transit you won't be disappointed. Looks like sell-off vacations won the 1 star review I've never seen anyone get 80 plus percent 1 star this must be a new reward. I've been in customer service all my life and had one bad review and it was a scammer . If you book after looking here your very brave.

We purchased 3 day Worry Free Cancellation. It is anything but worry free. Not only is it not a cancellation, but a voucher that you have to use within one year, but it’s also over 2 weeks to get and use the voucher. We are now unable to use it to book another trip in time for our scheduled holidays away from work. Not only was it not suggested to us that we could simply transfer to another trip, the final person I spoke with said it wasn’t her fault and hung up. Worry Free Cancellation was the claim, but deep in the fine print is it anything but that. Very, very disappointed.

I gave 1 star because there is no option for zero. I will never use this company ever again and would advise everyone yo avoid it!!!! Go through the airline instead. Was booking a trip when my screen disappeared. It booked the trip before I was finished. Never even got a confirmation. . Email came the next day. Resort was wrong and my insurance disappeared. The website says that it csn be added in 24 hrs and corrections could be made within 24 hrs. They refused to make any changes and kept blaming the airline company. Was going away with friends for our shared birthday. and spent the whole day trying to get moved to the right resort, while they went to a restaurant for a special lunch with cake and entertainment, set up just for us. My birthday was ruined. After we finally got to meet our representative from the airline they had tge resort changed within 10 minutes. 2 and 1/2 of my days were ruined along with my birthday . Had to wait until the next day to actually move to the resort that I was actually booking to be with our friends. So if they could change it tgere within a few mins, there is no reason it couldn’t have been fixed here within 3 weeks. They also refused to add my missing insurance that I also had 48 hours to add on. This company is terrible.

I am starting to think this company is a scam. EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE. They cancelled my tickets since AUGUST 7th that I booked to attend a funeral with my dad and I am still waiting for my refund.

Many emails sent and it’s a total waste of my time. Zero progress, no accountability in this company.

My last email on 27th September is still without a response. They will come here to tell me they responded and I will post all communication. Do not book with them.

Misleading Baggage Charges on SellOffVacations

SellOffVacations' booking site automatically adds baggage fees for each passenger when pre-purchased, without clearly indicating this upfront. After noticing the unexpected charges, I called immediately to request a refund. Although SUNWING confirmed the baggage is refundable since the flight is still days away, SellOffVacations refused, citing SUNWING’s policy that refunds aren’t allowed within 21 days of departure—despite this not aligning with what SUNWING stated directly.

Scammy website presentation. You select the amount of people and it spits out a price showing taxes and fees included. Then at the very bottom of the next page (once you select it) in fine print, it shows "price is per passenger".

This is deceiving. Why wouldn't you include the price for what I asked for? If I inquire on buying a house, do I get priced on the garage?

Deceitful behaviour - I wonder what else is being withheld.

This is a Amazing company. Love it.

They have unethical business practices. When booking my holiday with friends, we all asked for cancellation insurance. Their agent neglected to take care of that detail on my file, so when I had to cancel for health reasons, I had no coverage. The carrier has offered to give me a 42% credit, but I am still out $1500. This was SelloffVacation's error, but they are unwilling to refund me the difference. Why go through a travel agent when this is the level of service they provide? I would have been better to book online! Next stop, my Ombudsman and the BBB.

I am absolutely livid with my experience. I booked a bachelor trip for a group of 10 back in November and Giulia was great in handling my booking. But at the end of the month I emailed and called several times to try to add another passenger to my group booking to radio silence. Apparently she had gone on a leave of absence, but it’s shocking that no one was getting forwarded her emails.

At the end of January, Vanessa reached out to me to let me know that my invoice was past due and that my trip would be cancelled in a few days if my trip wasn’t paid in full. In a rush to save the booking I paid for it in full and they told me that they would work on adding the passenger as soon as it was paid. It has been two and a half weeks since I have paid and now she has also gone on a leave of absence, and when you call into their phone line “group bookings” seems to be a completely different division that is this illusive being that cannot be reached at all. I have been told on 3 different occasions that someone would reach out or for me to call back, and no one reaches out and then I have to call back and get the same response from a different person that “groups bookings” is a different department and that they don’t have a number and that they can only send a note for them to call me.

I am absolutely outraged that it has taken 3 months for me to try to add someone to my booking I haven’t been able to reach illusive “group bookings” team who refuse to answer me.

If you’re looking to book a group trip, DO NOT BOOK WITH SELLOFF. As a service based business, it is astonishing and outright infuriation that they are absolutely unreachable.
