This company copied information and conversations from private Facebook group and used it as content on their website.

They did this to try to increase authority and improve their online presence for financial gain.

Online information is protected by GDPR and this practise is not allowed. If you Google the company name you will see more unacceptable practises they have taken part of.

Do not trust this company.

UPDATE TO SEMALTS RESPONSE.

Firstly, anyone who wants an independent review of Semalt should just google the words "semalt spam" and read the results for yourself.

This review was not left on this page by mistake as I have confirmed to Trustpilot by return email when they contacted me. I have provided Trustpilot with full details which this review pertains to.

Semalt have not made any unsuccessful attempts to contact me to figure out the issue. They have redirected the Url's of the five stolen facebook posts relating to me from private facebook groups and now those links open their main blog page. I have screenshots from a facebook messenger conversation with them (to view click on my profile image) when I first contacted them to complain in which they replied only once to say;

"Hello! We are exclude your name. Find out the reason for which we have this post"

which proves they not only knowingly published my private content on their website but then changed the names in an attempt to cover it up.

I further messaged them but I got no response.

I was never an intentional client of Semalt but they created a personally terrible "Service Experience" for me when they stole my content from facebook and published it for their own seo promotion purposes.

The reason this review has not been removed is because it is factual and true which I showed to Trustpilot when they contacted me. It looks to me like there are many fake reviews for Semalt on here, but this one and the hundreds of other genuine reviews of Semalt and their policy of stealing other peoples facebook content, which Semalt are trying to get Trustpilot to remove, are not the fake ones, they unfortunately are the truth.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

I googled my name to check my Skype username and found a Semalt website blog post consisting of a facebook post that I had originally created in a closed private facebook group for web designers.
To my shock the private post was publicly published on the Semalt website pretending it was a discussion forum of their own.
I contacted them through Facebook and got the reply "Hello! We are exclude your name. Find out the reason for which we have this post"
So once I notified them they changed everyones name in the discussion thread but left the thread up. It is still live even though I asked them to take it down.

I have since found four other posts I created or contributed to in different private Facebook groups that are also published on the Semalt website without permission.

Copied content from a Facebook group which include secure data which is confined to that group. But, Semalt had disclosed our data publicly on their website without any permission.

Content from private Facebook groups appeared publicly on Semalt's website. Completely unacceptable behaviour as the content was posted privately, in confidence, between members. The names of users had been changed / re-generated, but any user that had quoted another user - left a name fully indexable.

When I googled my name, I found half a dozen posts that contained my name - that were publicly visible. It's not acceptable for a company to be publicly displaying comments that I have made privately, when they do not have the authority to do this.

I'm a member of multiple Facebook groups where users have had a similar experience. Carrying out a few Google searches showed hundreds, if not thousands of results from these groups - all with private comments now being publicly indexed.

This type of business practice is not acceptable. I feel sorry for anyone that decides to spend money with them as if their client work is treated in a similar way to their approach to taking content that doesn’t belong to them, one would hope that your money isn’t sprayed up a toilet wall.

Edit: Semalt have since "removed" the content from their website, but this should never have happened in the first place. It's difficult to believe that you weren't aware of thousands of pieces of content being added to your website.

Edit 2: Dear Semalt, in answer to your bizarre response. I'm not a competitor of yours, I have no interest in competing with the market that you target. If one goes to your QA page right now and types in a search query such as "innovator" - you can see pages of content appear, from the private Facebook group "WP Innovator". These were all added to your site around March 2018, without the permission of anyone in the group. You've set a re-direct from the actual posts back to your main QA page - but the content still exists on your website. Likewise, the same search can be performed in Google as "site:semalt.com innovator". Perhaps you want to get your house in order, before you accuse people incorrectly of wanting to be malicious. My review here exists because someone in your team did something that was not right, and it's still actually visible in the search engines - and your website.

Stole copyrighted content from 2 Facebook groups that I am in and most likely others. Avoid this site.

This company is using the content from Facebook Groups they don't manage and publishing it on their website as their own content. I'm a member of a private Facebook group and they published several threads from our group, changing only the names of the people (i found my name on their website forum but i never wrote a letter on their site, so it is a very bad behaviour), on their site here: semalt . com / de / qa / 156398-warning.

This company has been stealing from Closed facebook groups and posting it on their website as publicly available content to boost their own SEO.

This is:

1. Copyright infringment
2. Breach of privacy.

Edit: Semalt removed the content upon our request. They informed me that they had been hacked. They failed to provide any evidence of this. I am happy it was removed but still feel violated.

This shady company is scraping threads from Facebook groups and passing them off as their own content. Shameful.

Much of the content on Semalt's site is stolen from Facebook groups. If they're happy to do that with their own brand, I shudder to think the corners they'll cut on client work.

Remember - you'll be the one getting sued, not them, if they pull this on your job!

Aw, did I strike a nerve with you, semalt? Why are you so angry, guys? Of course you wanted to reply pathetically as soon as you got word of a negative review and in your "professional" style attacked the reviewer and denied all claims. Such a surprise! Don't ever think your pathetic company that doesn't even bother to list accurate contact information can call me abusive or "nontolerant" which is not even a word. Your lack of professionalism in all your "responses" to negative reviews is laughable. I have the proof. I have proof of all the lawsuit that you lost and the police report about you using my name and many others to make phony reviews about your site. There are many many reviews online showing the same problem that I have outlined where your company posts fake reviews using names of people who have no connection with your company. Good luck finding all of them and trying to "neutralize" those negative reviews with your defensive and poorly worded personal attacks against each and every one of the thousands of us who have reviewed your "company."

TO EVERYONE READING THIS: contact the FCC and the FTC along with your state attorney general's office and tell them about what semalt really does with your personal information. I have checked and no one else in the world has the same name as me, it does not exist in any other country. It was only shown online in the Equifax hack from a few years ago. It shows how much you love to cooperate with people when you say "it seems you have trumped up the charge against semalt," the friendly wholesome old fashioned data miner LOL. Also, claiming that you have clients around the world doesn't mean that you are excused from data mining in Ukraine and pretending that you can speak English, when YOU are the one responding to me. Your claim is that your company has clients all over the world, how does that have anything to do with the cheap responses YOU make solely from Eastern Europe. I really don't care what something like you thinks of me. I'm not giving you more of my personal information so that you can keep posting reviews with my name. You'll be spending your time in court, from now on, you pathetic trash.

To the russian hacker that changed their cheap response to my review. Why were you so afraid to sign your name to my review but not the others. You like posting other's information, why be such a hypocrite and hide your name. If I were you, I would not take dear leader trump's name in vain, you love that orange clown and look up to him. I emailed you the proof and contacted the police but you are pretty tough hiding behind your computer in the Eastern Bloc and adding phony reviews as soon as a truthful negative one is submitted. Semalt has published "reviews" on their website that come from people who have never heard of their company nor used their "product" whatever their product is supposed to be. They operate in Ukraine, and therefore feel comfortable posting reviews on behalf of people without their knowledge and in a country that has lax laws and no attorney general offices to take them to court for their tactics. If you call their phone number, it is disconnected. If you email them, you will not receive a response, over in Ukraine it may be fine, but in America it is not okay to posts someone's name on a website without their permission and make a phony review praising a company with said associated name. I have noticed on this website that semalt loves to respond to the myriad of negative reviews it has, and in poorly-worded broken English, of course. It's the only time they bother to respond, very customer-service oriented. They use their cheap responses to personally attack the reviewer and deny everything they have been documented actually doing, rethink your optics when you do things like that. Semalt, you are pathetic. You are scum. You can try to type out a crappy response to this with your limited knowledge of English and deny your tactics to boost your company's reputation. But, your day is coming and people are watching your actions. You won't last much longer. Good luck! Dasvidaniya!

I started work with Semalt 1 year ago... my business connected with traveling and there a lot of compentitors. you should know, that to raise you site up you need a time...but it good investments to your business. Be sure, you will give your money back fast.

Назначая собеседование несколько раз перепутала время, потом сообщение отправила с совершенно другим временем и датой. Понимаю, что может много кандидатов, но надо как-то следить. Письма от нее попадают в спам, причем зная об этом, заранее не предупреждает. Я не прочитала ее письмо, так как думала, что его нет, потом на собеседовании возникли трудности. Несколько раз подгоняла при тестировании английского. Причем я делала недолго. Это так неуважительно, особенно если ищите кандидата с высоким уровнем. Далее пришла "начальница" какого-то из отделов. Скорее всего PR. Всем своим видом показала, насколько я ей неинтересна и насколько зря она пришла. Я не думаю, что стоит на собеседованиях так открыто показывать свою неприязнь, даже если понимаете, что кандидат не подходящий. Это всегда чувствуется. Конечно же, обещали перезвонить в любом случае, и также - не перезвонили, что говорит об отсутствии элементарной культуры. Это на самом деле о многом говорит. Компании я бы не рекомендовала, так как видно, что людей не ценят и смотрят свысока. Причем что опытных, что неопытных. Да и много о них всякого негатива нашла. Поэтому даже порадовалась, что не попала.
