Can't fault the service from Sensational Tutors at all. From the start, it was easy to enquire online, find a tutor and meet for an initial session.
Our tutor, Chenaie was an absolutely fantastic. She just "got" my son straight away, and was able to build a trusting working relationship with him, which is half the battle when finding good education for your SEN child (esp. PDA). He engaged with his learning straight away, and looked forward to his sessions with her. They agreed on what to study and when, and the work my son produced by the end of our time with Chenaie was outstanding. We knew our son was capable of much more academically than he was showing at school. Chenaie was able to build up his confidence and self-esteem, and provide a safe and engaging environment that allowed him to show us all what he could do.
Overall, the service provided by Sensational Tutors was worth every penny, and one which I do not think we would have received from tutors that do not necessarily specialise in teaching SEN children.
We will definitely be back in touch with Chenaie and Sensational Tutors in the future, now that my son is at a new school placement, and will be starting his GCSEs next year. So, if you are looking for excellent and expert tuition for your SEN child, then look at Sensational Tutors. You won't regret it!

My name is Justin and my wife's name is Judith. Gemma is by far the most amazing person I have ever met and taught our son. We have so much respect for her and the amazing ways she communicated with us. She is selfless and has great empathy and always make sure that she puts our son first. We would recommend Gemma to anybody. She is such a great teacher who treats people of different backgrounds with great respect.

From the moment that Sensational Tutors were in touch to try and help us find a suitable tutor for our 13yr old son, we have been impressed by the overall service. They listened to our needs and came up with the perfect match! Due to his additional needs (ADHD & PDA) we needed someone who could adapt their teaching method, and build a trustworthy bond with our son. Simone has done just that. For the past 8 months, listening to her teach Elijah has been a joy; they have great fun and he clearly respects her and responds well to her friendly, yet thorough approach. He's basically like a different child when he's with Simone - less stressed, happier, enjoying learning again, motivated and calm. We recently used SENsational Tutors and chose Richard to be our son's Tutor. Our son, Sam has ASD and ADHD and was struggling in mainstream school. We were constantly on the receiving end of negative comments until were started working with Richard. During the first session we could see a connection and it helped that Richard was good at football and was happy to kick a ball around in the garden towards the end of the session. Sam quickly knew he was someone he could trust.
Sam avoided learning as his self esteem was low and anxiety very high but Richard adapted his teaching quickly and was flexible during each session. It was inspiring to see him keep Sam's focus and actually engaged with learning. At times he used the mobile phone for research and even learnt a game that Sam was interested in to learn about history and Vikings. Richard was incredibly enthusiastic about the progress Sam made, however small, which gave us so much hope that with the write tutor and support he would thrive.
Sam even asked to sit the Year 6 SATS with his peers because of Richard's input in raising his confidence and self esteem.
Richard also helped support us as parents as we went through a SEN appeal to find a secondary school and also attended our annual review. He was there to talk through any concern and impart all his knowledge and expertise.
We found it really easy to set up working with SENsational Tutors and felt they were a company that really cared about the child and the impact they could have on helping them learn and thrive.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending both Richard and SENsational tutors.

My 11 year old autistic daughter had been out of school for some time due to her complex needs. SENsational Tutors quickly understood our daughters needs and connected us with the amazing tutor, Kelly. Kelly was able to quickly assess my daughters capabilities in a fun and non-threatening way. She created flexible and adaptable lessons that my daughter really enjoyed attending. Due to my daughters complex physical and mental health needs she recently hasn’t been able to regularly attend lessons. I wholeheartedly recommend SENsational Tutors. Kelly has been working with my son A who has complex learning needs, Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour for over a year. They have built a great relationship together and work to cover a range of different material. Kelly has got to know my son very well and understands what motivates him to work. A enjoys various activities that Kelly organises and in the past year they have had many fun outings together.

Phil is calm, patient and resourceful enough to reach 'unteachable' children. I highly recommend him for his understanding of demand avoidance and school trauma.

We were after a tutor to help with our son who has ASC and high anxiety to specifically help with his executive functioning skills and regain his confidence and motivation for his schoolwork. Although he's only had a few sessions with Rachel so far, you can see things are very slowly starting to click.

Rachel is the first teacher/tutor our son's had in many years who seems to naturally get him. This has been, I think, a great source of relief for him and he's felt confident speaking and interacting with Rachel very quickly. The skills Rachel has taught him so far are accessible and he's able to put them into action. Some of them are strategies he already knows in theory, but it's almost like there have been pieces of the puzzle missing which have stopped him using them effectively. Rachel has supplied these missing pieces and he's not only slowly practising using them but has actually admitted that they help.
There's still a long way to go but you can hear the tiny clicks going on in his head as things make more sense for him. We can wholeheartedly recommend Rachel.

Sensational Tutors put me in touch with Steve for which I'm eternally grateful. Steve has managed with my autistic 8 year old daughter what no one else has - the beginnings of some writing, has got the homework done, and most crucially slowly built some confidence about her abilities. He connects with her, talks about her interests, asks about her life. He is a really positive influence in her life. Her academic confidence has grown significantly since Steve started with her.

Its a daunting prospect trying to select the right tutor for your child- my daughter has dyslexia and is being tested for ADHD - Joanna and team made this so easy ! After my initial enquiry I received a call from Joanna to discuss their service and how they could help after which we quickly selected Jessie who not only had the right experience but would be a personality match for my daughter. After just one session she managed to re-engage her with learning and become genuinely excited about their meetings ! Can thank you all enough ! 100% Recommended!

Our daughter who is dyslexic and has suspected ADHD has been switched off from learning. Jesse made her tutoring sessions fun and engaging and also tried to support her through discussions about sleeping and other daily routines. Jesse also gave lots of feedback after each session which was very helpful.
The process of finding a Tutor was very well organised and we were matched very quickly with Jesse who had good availability.

Sensational tutors really are the best provision, in my opinion, for children that have difficulties in a mainstream setting. It is so refreshing to find a service that recognises education isn’t a one size fits all and offers such tailored, differential teaching to help children reach their full potential. Rebecca is a fantastic tutor and my son thoroughly enjoys his online sessions. Seeing his confidence grow is amazing and I can’t praise Rebecca enough for her patience, expertise and understanding.

I have been using SENSational Tutors for the whole of this academic year with our students who are unable to cope with being in school. The quality of every tutor has been exceptional to the point that I go to them first for any tutoring needs.

My son (7 years old, high functioning ASD) approached our tutor Ewa 2 months ago. We have twice lessons a week and focus on the area of inferential comprehension, writing, tenses, social stories and 5 point scale. Eva is very experienced and done a great job. She planned every lesson very well and slides were prepared for my son to follow easily. She understood my son’s needs completely and tailored the needs to my son. She broke down the instructions/ techniques into small parts and my son can learn and memorize them easily as they will be repeated every lesson.
Ewa is very easy to approach and will give help or advice any times when you have any concerns. I am so happy to find her and highly recommend to anyone with special need.

I cannot recommend SENsational tutors enough. My son (4years old, ASD) is having regular sessions with Sammie who has taken the time to get to know him and build an amazing relationship with him. He is always looking forward to the sessions!

Sammie is very friendly and energetic, she uses a variety of tools and approaches to engage with him and teach new things through fun & play. My son learned to successfully communicate with visual cards and begun vocalising more sounds and words, making better eye contact and initiating interactions. He is successfully learning colours, shapes, numbers and phonics. We’ve been delighted with the results and will continue the sessions for as long as we can.
