Quick update from my December post. A supervisor from Shinola did reach out and provided me a more than adequate resolution. I appreciate their effort to make things right. I am a big fan of this brand and continued to be but was disappointed in that latest interaction. However they did come through in the end..
Customer Service doesn't exist
The product is overpriced which I can live with but the customer service is appalling, tardy and rude!
I initially enquired about sizing for a replacement watch band. Was given the wrong information from Customer Service which I was able to correct by my own research. I placed the order for the correct band but was sent the wrong product. Getting a refund took well over a month and they DID NOT REFUND the $25 USD for approx postage I had paid even though they admitted sending me the wrong product. Ended up buying a quality band online at a much cheaper price and free postage!
Only buy if you absolutely must and you live close to a Shinola outlet.
Poor customer service
I purchased a bag from Shinola and was supposed
to receive a 10% discount on a first time purchase. The discount was not applied. I sent an email and after three days with no response I called and spoke to a representative. I was informed that new arrivals are not eligible for discount.Nowhere is that stated in the offer. Management declines to do anything about this and I think it is a very disappointing experience for a first (and last) time buyer.
I sent my watch to Shinola for repair
I sent my watch to Shinola for repair. My watch wasnât running. At the same time I asked about wrist band options. They emailed me options which I didnât like. Because I didnât respond to the wrist band email, they did NOTHING about repairing my watch. A month later I called about the status and was told that they would get back to me in 48 hours. No one got back to me. I called again and was told that they held up repairs because of the wristband email. Unbelievable screw up. Donât buy these watches - service is the worst.

Rating of zero. Two months since I purchased a watch, no watch has been shipped, no way forward suggested and no progress on a refund.
Poor customer experiance
Watch arrived yesterday and owners manual was missing. Called customer service twice. They have no clue of what they are doing. My wife and I will never buy another one of your products.

I ordered a watch from them on the 5th August, it was shipped on the 9th. I live in the UK so this was done via 'express air'. It's now the 22nd August and nothing. I've emailed customer care (customerservice@) several times and still no response.
I'm sure their watches are great, I just wish I had it.
Update: 5 days later. No watch. No contact with customer service. LOTS of sales emails though.
Very dissatisfied with Shinola
I have had a $800 Shinola watch for several years and been very happy with it. The crown recently fell or was knocked off. I took it to my local watch repair person and he said he could fix it if Shinola would send me a new crown. I called Shinola to ask them to send me a new crown. They said they do not send out parts becuase of concerns over people repaiiring fake Shinolas. I have both a recieptd the and watch has a serial number so they could check to determine it is not a fake. Nope, they are making me ship it to them for repair with shipping and repair at my expense. I will never, ever by another Shinola product again. As a retired feddral judge and law professor I give the company a grade of F for customer service but the customer service person was very nice and cordial and just repeating her instructions. so I give her a A+. I could not be more disaapointed with Shinola. States need ot pass "right to repair" laws whic several states have done.
Shinol 6" clock $ 400
Hello, first off I bought a Shinola Clock in Denver 2 weeks ago and took it to Germany. I looked everywhere on your website how to set the time since the 6" clock has a closed case. So my question. is how do I set the time ?
Second, there is a screw missing on the back of the clock.
A bit dissapointing as I almost bought an additional watch for about $ 4,000 at the store. It seems that the quality production is not matching up with what the retail store employes portrait. Last but not least on the clock ist says movement made in China , not in the USA ?...The clock looks great but I should have done my research and will not buy any Shinola products in the future
Company lost my order. No Help.
Company lost my order and canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances". I own 2 watches and ordered 3 pieces of jewelry online. After 7 days of no shipment, I call to check in. They say we will call you by end of day, no call or email. I call the next day. They say will have an answer by 2pm. 3pm I get an email the order was canceled. They did not apologize or ask if they could correct the issue. There is zero customer service and they treat you like trash. I ended up going to the store to purchase the jewelry which they had at 2 locations. Canfield store-helpful/friendly sales team. Somerset store-2/3 employees totally ignored me and 1 sold me jewelry as if I ruined his day (I did not complain or mention my issues in either store as they have no control over Shinola as a business). I had pride in Shinola being a cool brand from my home town but they decided to essentially tell me they don't want my business anymore. You can fail and be accommodating, helpful and I would totally understand. They failed and acted like I ruined their day. Quite Juvenile. Its a double whammy- warehouse/corporate failed the delivery-and customer service failed to correct the issue. No one at the company ever reached out to me to say there was an issue to begin with, I had to do the digging after my order wasn't being shipped.
NOT Petoskey Stone
NOT Petoskey Stone! I had been wanting a Petoskey Stone bracelet for a long time, and asked for one for my birthday. My mom purchased and gifted me a Shinola beaded bracelet. I was so excited! I'd been wearing it for a while when a friend of mine, who knows a lot about stones saw it and laughed. Turns out the bracelet is actually made from some other fossil coral, NOT PETOSKEY STONE. I'm so incredibly disappointed.

Not at all happy. I ordered the smallest band and it was the wrong size. Although I chatted with someone who told me the 10 would fit my birdie and I explained my pins were bad. No problem they would get pins in my order. Urgh a month later I got replacement bands now no pins. Itâs a run around and service is too apologetic for the service you receive. I donât want your apologies they are only excuses. Get me my order Correctly. Send me my pins and stop apologizing

If I could give a zero. Loved my watches, but Detrola crystal cracked. Several emails before I was able to PAY THEM $25 in advance to PAY THE POST OFFICE to return it. I was supposed to hear in 2 weeks how much I would have to PAY THEM to repair -- instead, I rec'd my broken watch back with a letter that had my address & phone number on it that when they tried to reach me (via smoke signals, I must assume) I didn't answer so they could tell me how much I had to PAY THEM to fix it! Needless to say, I emailed them back to say I thought this was B=loney and haven't heard anything but crickets. Good bye and good luck SHINOLA you used to have customer service. Sending you back my broken watch, keep it with my regards.

Dishonest company
Shinola raised the price of the light silver color (appears gold) Derby 30mm watch from $650 to $950 for their 10 year anniversary sale. However they do give 25% off. Wow-horrible sales tactic.

Shinola claims that most problems are battery related, and only in very rare situations is the movement a problem. The battery is not the problem & I suspect the made in America tag is a facade behind which sit cheap foreign made parts.
The only movement that has given me any satisfaction was to move the non-working watch back into the box!
Defective Wallets
I had purchased two wallets from Shinola. In both cases, all of my plastic credit cards snapped at the top. The only card to survive was a metal Amex. Really too bad that these guys care so little as to stand behind their products. I will certainly share this experience with friends, family and employees.

Dave at the Logan Circle location in Washington DC is an incredible person to work with. He is not just knowledgeable when it comes to Shinola but will help anyway he can. Customer service would not deal with a prematurely failed rubber watch band. Them: Sorry, no guarantee for watch bands. Me: When I pay $100 for a RUBBER watch band, high quality is a reasonable expectation.
