Easy to use, friendly welcoming staff and great security.

My second time storing with Shurgard Cardiff and what a team. Rob Maisie and Sarah were stars.

Been a customer a month or so now in Cardiff and cannot fault it. The access of 7am to 9pm is great for those of us working the 9 to 5. Easy, secure access via their app and secure gates and doors. The staff in reception, Sarah, Maisie and Rob are all wonderful and super friendly. I would 100% recommend this storage facility for those moving home.

Fantastic staff, Sarah Maisie and Rob were great the entire time I was storing. A lovely atmosphere in the office. So refreshing to see three people so happy doing there jobs.

Rob was very helpful and provided me with all the information I needed

If you want to deal with nice people at the storage facility, during office hours only, then you should be fine. However beware because those same people have no power to deal with the system when they are not there on site and are not contactable out of hours. They cannot influence the way the system works because they have no connection with these systems and are not informed when the access systems fail. The call centre for emergency access issues is merely a call handling centre and has no power to deal with access. It is not part of Shurgard. If access on time for you or your removal company or courier is critical do not use Shurgard. If it matters to you not to be locked into a parking compound or locked out of a storage facility in the day when the office is unstaffed then do not use Shurgard . Despite alerting them to a fault in the system which caused us to be locked into the parking compound and locked out of the facility (until released by another customer), the company failed to address the issue to which we alerted them. When it recurred - only 6 days later - critically when all our furniture was being brought out of storage, Shurgard hid behind a clause absolving them of any responsibility for no access due to technical issues. This is at best disingenuous and at worst dishonest. * *And this edited version of my review ( left on 10th March) follows on from Shurgard’s response- I wrote immediately giving them the information they requested but have had absolutely no response- so do not think that the concerned reply below reflects their actual stance.

Very friend and supportive staff at Shurgard Self Storage - Cardiff and I want to thank you Rob who showed us the store room and all procedures.
Storage room and environment is clean and accessible.

Shurgard made no attempt to take our monthly payment (we checked with the bank) so I got an email saying we hadn’t paid. I was confused as we pay by direct debit and there were way more than sufficient funds in the account

I was dealing with this at M1 services on the way to my only Aunts funeral 350 miles away from where I live

I phoned Monday - the day I got the email - and explained I could not deal with this till Thursday as at the funeral and had no physical cards on me as the payment link needed a card

Thursday at 9.45 I get a phone call saying your account is over due you need to make payment

I had got in at 8pm having left the hotel at 10am on the Wednesday (accident on M5) and had a lot to deal with getting home (like collecting my dog, unpacking the car)

I have also received constant emails to pay despite it being Shurgard who didn’t take the money - not we didn’t pay. I was very upset by the phone call today and said we would deal with it today and lo and behold we got two more emails within 2 minutes for payment

They made the error not us yet have persued us aggressively for the money despite me communicating with them and explaining why we couldn’t pay till today. Giving us till 9.45 am is not reasonable. We didn’t not pay - they didn’t take the direct debit.

They are the lowest of the low

Cardiff store. Amazing customer service on phone and Rob in office was great at showing me units and how to work everything. Excellent value.

Rob at reception was extremely helpful and explained everything very clearly. I would definitely use Shurgard again.

The arrangement of equipment was very good and easy to understand its purpose…

Really great storage facility with wonderful staff!
A special mention to Robert who helped me gain access to my unit on a really stressful moving day. Can't thank him enough for staying cool and going out of his way to help me.
And a mention for Sarah who was friendly, professional and helpful.

The units are clean, secure and efficient.
