This is a preliminary rating because…
This is a preliminary rating because the 200cubic metre unit I have hired has a broken light. For a smaller unit the corridor lights would be sufficient but it’s dark at the back of this large one and I can’t read the labels on my boxes without a torch. I have asked for it to be fixed and there seems to be some sort of money saving policy in place that stops the staff from replacing it - although they have promised to see if they can do it in the near future. If they replace the light in my storage unit I would happily give them five stars for excellent facilities, easy access and helpful staff. If not I’ll go down to two stars for giving false promises

No parking for vehicles to park to…
No parking for vehicles to park to unload, the site in Hatch End cannot accommodate any long based van, parking on a private road at the entrance leads to £60 fine. Had to book another site last minute with added costs. Poor service delivery.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We're sorry to read you've experienced difficulties with the parking and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We aim to make access to our storage units with easy access and free parking. Many locations have a drive-in so can drive your vehicle directly into the premises and park inside to facilitate loading and unloading. We also offer storage units that are directly accessible by car or lorry. These are located on the ground floor, often at the exterior of the premises, so you can park your vehicle in front of your storage unit. Each of our 30 locations has different features though. Good clean building
All good...only niggle is the compulsory insurance. My insurance covers it but Shurguard insists on paper but my insurer only provide electronic and i cannot screen shot it. Showing the copy on screen not considered enough so feel a litte duped

Harrow Branch...Terrible Service
Harrow Branch...Terrible Service, at the end of my notice period , given my notice to vacate and last payment taken from my account, , after 5 months I had a letter from debt collectors in Ireland to say I owed £20.91 as a final notice .
No correspondence meantime from shurguard to suggest there was anything owing . Also received a final amount letter after closing my account .
Absolute thieves, definitely stay away from this company at any cost .

No heating and expensive padlocks
The storage facility has no heating and was extremely cold - and I was disappointed to be forced into buying a Shurguard specific padlock which was £15 - I’m sure these cost £1 at best and should be included free when renting for longer periods. It’s just stealth revenue for you as I’ve used my own padlock at other facilities.

That's why all storage units require a unique cylinder lock which can be purchased in the store. You are the only one to have access to your storage unit. It is a one-off cost, so returning customers can simply re-use their lock. We are sorry to read that you feel the temperature in the storage facility is inadequate, and we've passed your concerns on to the Store Manager who will be looking into this in more detail.
