Great service every time am always impressed

The storage was Clean and ready when my movers arrived with my furniture. Samira was very helpful.

The only negative point I could say is that the unloading area is not entirely flat and the trolley keeps rolling away.

I just want to say a big thank you to Dee, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone, and also to the tall, handsome gentleman at the reception who checked me in. I really appreciate your help and warm service.

Excellent service from the reception team.

Terrible customer service. Advised to buy me the wrong lock, which I bought and it didn’t work on the doors. They then charged me for a different lock after I had to leave my unit unlocked with my things in until I retrieved the other lock. I escalated it to the district manager, Zak, who confirmed that they would still charge me for the new lock despite the inconvenience and fact that I’d now bought 2 locks after following their advice.

This facility is very local to where I live and Farid was very helpful in explaining how to use the App and accessing the storage unit. The unit was very clean and I had opted for the lock which was simple to use. The only downside is the car park isn't big enough and I had to bring back a car load and return at a later time. The car park slopes so you have to be careful with the trolleys sliding off - they could do with getting a few more trolleys. The downside of the app is you have to wait sometimes for the gates and lifts to connect and unlock. On one occasion it wouldn't 'link' at all, that can be very frustrating. All in all though, very good storage facility.

Terrible experience

From the unit that I hired being rented out when I arrived to then being blocked in by an inconsiderate other tenant so couldn't access the unit for 30 minutes. Staff member was helpful but customers obviously do what they want when they want

Would not hire again

The guy who checked me in at Herne Hill was very helpful & informative. The site was easy to navigate. It was a bit tricky to set up the app (poor Wi-Fi in the area?) but much easier to gain access with it. Easy to give notice if you don't want to extend your contract. The main reason I haven't given 5* is I object to being phoned up & asked to do so.

Semira was friendly and very helpful. The location is very clean, modern and secure.

A Company Driven by Greed and Poor Customer Service
If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Shurgard has been nothing short of appalling, and I feel compelled to warn others about their exploitative practices.

Over the course of my rental, Shurgard has shown no regard for loyal customers. I downsized my unit a year ago to reduce costs to £122/month. Since then, my fees have inexplicably doubled, with the most recent charge jumping to £225/month—this, for a smaller unit. How does Shurgard justify hiking prices every six months? The lack of transparency and fairness is shocking.

Adding insult to injury, I was double-charged last December, yet the promised refund has still not been credited to my account. Despite repeated efforts to resolve this, their customer service has been unresponsive and dismissive. It seems like Shurgard is far more interested in draining your wallet than addressing legitimate concerns.

To top it off, I recently vacated my unit and requested confirmation of my final account balance and refund. Once again, I was met with silence. My trust in this company has been completely eroded.

If you're considering using Shurgard, I urge you to think twice. The relentless price increases, poor communication, and lack of accountability make them one of the worst storage providers I’ve ever encountered.

Avoid at all costs—there are far better and more ethical options out there.
