Shurgard Self Storage - Reading A33 Relief Road レビュー 

I have a unit in Reading.
I called Shurgard because I couldn't open the shutter to my unit.
After speaking to him on the phone about the problem, Chris from the nearest manned office was along within minutes and managed to get the door open and discover the problem. He said he would speak to the maintenance team and get them to contact me to come and fix it. I am still waiting for that.
Chris was friendly, professional and very helpful.

Easy to book, easy to access, not too expensive

I have been a customer with Shurgard for 15 months and have spoken to all customer service agents within the store, who are helpful, patient, informative, professional and genuinely try to give you the best price. Explain all dets inc insurance and other factors you need to know with regards storage.
However, I'd like to give a review on Karen who is absolutely brilliant.
She has helped with discounts and finding new units if needed due to the fact this is my daughter's unit who has moved abroad. Karen has made it easy with adding security questions to the account so I can access as not always easy when my daughter is away.
However, I needed to gain access to the unit in December and couldn't find the lock number or key. This was stressful as near to Christmas and I was travelling the following day.
Karen saved me hours of thinking I needed a locksmith or trying to locate spare keys and simply made arrangements. I was with her and she used the stores equipment and although extremely busy, put aside time, imme8with me attended the unit and within a few minutes I was in the unit!!
Provided me with a new lock and I took what was needed and on my way home. Thank you Karen, you saved me so much time and stress. Excellent service and I will remain with this company. 👍

I have started using storage in the Reading A33 branch. Online set up was so easy. I packed my boxes into the car and went straight over to their Reception. The 3 people in the office were so welcoming and made sure I was all set up and answered any questions I had.
I took them up on the offer to show me where my storage locker was and made sure I could enter and lock up.
Couldn’t have been easier and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful!

The service was great.
The staff and manager were plesent, professional and very helpful. 👍

DO NOT USE
The absolute worst customer service. If you call you will never go direct to store, instead you go to a central office where they don't have your details, after which they claim they will call you back. They never do.
I went in to complain that they did not receive my cancel request because of the mess of their internal system. They did not take any responsibility. Instead they set my move out date to over 1 month following my second visit to their store rather than 15 days onwards as per their notice period. Conning at every turn!

Also good luck with their app which controls everything. If you do not have your phone you cannot access anything, and the app often didn't connect to their doors.

Efficient in dealing with issues. Good prices too.

Where do I start!
No only have they massively put their prices up since taking over, from being 1 day late paying they start harassing you and threatening you with court. I had to block the number in the end.

Now I am a fulltime wheelchair user and only have the storage unit as I had to move from a 4 bed house to a 2 bed following my accident 2 years ago and an 8 month stint in hospital. I am yet to get an adapted car so heavily depend on other people.
Long story short, both myself and my husband recently lost our jobs so money is a bit tight and the unit was not the priority when paying for things. I did not know that once you have not paid for 10 days they completly restrict your access (which I understand). Today was day 10 and we went to the unit to empty it so I didn't have to pay another month. The door to the building was open to we went straight to the unit and starteqd clearing it out. Whilst my sister was doing a tip run, the guy who works there, came over to check we had the access app as he was now leaving for the day. He helped me download the app and of course it came up that my access was restricted. I asked if this could be undone for just today so we could get this cleared and he said no and that we had to leave the building. This guy wanted me to sit next to a busy main road, in my wheelchair and in the rain with no shelter to wait for my sister to come come back (there was stuff everywhere outside the unit which I couldn't move myself due to my paralysis). He was quite happy to send a vulnerable person out just because he wanted to go home. I know we all have a busy lives but there was no compassion, no understanding. I was told to just come back on thursday to speak to his manager. This was not helping me at the time.
This is an appalling company who makes is not willing to help someone who is asking for a little bit of help and understanding. The only way I could resolve this was to borrow money from a friend on the spot so I could then have access to the door system
The amount of stress this caused me is unexplainable, so much so, I'm still crying whilst writing this.

The app is very easy to use & when we had to call the help line - very helpful & sorted our issue out - we were at the wrong location!! Then the store we should have been at, stayed open past their closing time to help us when we got there & even took us up to our unit - explained everything really well - great service

Simple, and direct explanations on how to use the facilities. The facilities were clean and tidy. Opening hours 07:00 - 21:00 suit my needs perfectly.

Staff is top notch! Lockers are good!

Awful company, misleading cancellation terms, rude staff and awful access system.

Only allow access via a small side door when unloading which blocks other customers and access. Absolutely would not recommend, the make it misleading to cancel the unit everything must be done via their app which does not work.

Unfortunately not a good start with Shurguard, on opening the unit online which was simple to do, I then faced a particularly unhelpful manager, which made my experience very unwelcoming and awkward. The rest of the staff were great in fact extremely helpful and kind. No padlocks available to buy as they had run out. 😟
