I had an issue with online ID verification, I went in person to the offices at A33 Relief road . The staff were happy to help and even demonstrated how to access the storage unit.

Phone salesman lied/misled about temperature controls; there are none. Arrived and the lock I paid for wasn't there. On site staff were very helpful and pleasant in fixing this but it was still an issue. Now need to spend time and money changing company as temp control was required.

I was promptly offered a storage which is very near to where i live in Reading.

Quick and easy to rent a unit but can get tricky if you need assistance out of hours as it’s not manned

I recently had a very frustrating experience with Shurgard . On the 20th of July, I was unable to access my storage unit due to a lift malfunction and lack of stairs at the premise. This wasn’t just an inconvenience — I had a flight the following day and was unable to retrieve essential items I needed for my trip.

Despite paying for a service that guarantees access during opening hours, I was completely blocked from reaching my belongings, with no alternative solution provided. As a result, I will need to repurchase several items while abroad — something that could have been easily avoided had the facility been properly maintained or adequate support offered.

I reached out to the company to request compensation for both the disruption and the added costs, but so far the response has been underwhelming as they say they can't provide compensation for a lift malfunction

Customers trust storage companies to provide reliable access to their possessions — especially when those items are important or time-sensitive. Unfortunately, Shurgard did not meet that expectation in my case.

Update: after multiple phone calls and emails the best Shurgard could do as a gesture of goodwill was to offer 1 month credit on my invoice (originally they wanted to offer 50%), which didn’t reflect the additional costs I had due to the inconvenience.

Every thing was easy to use but if your phone has the app but you don’t have any data you can’t get code to access the gate which you need for Bluetooth control point at gate other than that I was very impressed many thanks

I had lots of trouble getting access to the lockup and had to call/speak to 3 different people to finally get a solution. It would be very helpful to have some one on sight to help. I also don't think the app works very well and should have the key pad working incase it is needed.

It's very easy to register with shurgard, the cabin is clean.

Very secure, convenient and easy to use. Customer service is great too - I really appreciated Mani showing me round, he was very helpful and friendly.
