Beware! After a year they only settled with one creditor for one of the smaller amounts. They took $1200 in fees for a $3000 debt. I got a summons from another creditor and the lawyer refused to get back to me. I emailed and called multiple times with no answer. I ended up canceling and will now end up filing for bankruptcy. If you’re in this situation, I’d highly consider saving your money and avoid this crooked company.
They are supposed to be a law firm but there was no discussion of anything. You need to read your contract in detail and hope you understand everything. They take 31% of the contracted debt that you are looking for relief on. They take their fees before any negotiating. Since you have to build it up, they will not be negotiating for years and they say you are not supposed to contact your creditors. I have law firms pursuing me now because they have not contacted the creditors. Also, after all of this, a 1099 will be sent for tax purposes and whatever has been forgiven will be turned into income. Since my credit will be trashed anyway and for a lot longer, I really should have looked into bankruptcy instead.
