Poor order management and lack of communication
I am leaving this review to document my experience with this companyâs Canadian online store.
I placed an order which took 19 days from purchase to cancellation. From the beginning, the order process was poorly handled. Items were accepted as part of the order despite being out of stock, which immediately raised concerns about inventory accuracy and order management.
Throughout the entire period, communication was inconsistent and reactive. I had to repeatedly initiate contact to obtain basic updates regarding the status of my order. There was no proactive communication or clear timeline provided at any stage.
Despite multiple follow-ups, no meaningful resolution was offered while the order was active. Options such as expedited shipping or alternative arrangements were not provided, even though the issues and delays were acknowledged.
Eventually, the order was cancelled and a refund was issued. While the refund was processed, it does not address the significant time lost, lack of clarity, and overall poor handling of the customer experience.
Based on this experience, I have concerns regarding the reliability of the companyâs online ordering system and the consistency of its customer communication. I hope these issues are addressed to improve future customer experiences.
Mirror was purchased as ChristmasâŠ
Mirror was purchased as Christmas present & operated just fine for two months, One evening, we noticed it was no longer charging. There was a strong smell of acetone in the room which wasnât immediately identified. I looked the item over closely, trying to determine if there was some reset option. After a few minutes, I developed a migraine & got fuzzy. My wife discovered that the acetone smell was coming from the mirror & was likely the result of a faulty lithium battery. At this point, she had a headache, too, & the bedroom was saturated with the odor. We put the mirror outside, turned on fans to clear the room & slept out in the living room.
Reached out to Simple Human. They offered us a merchandise credit once we sent the mirror back. They said they would replace the mirror but, alas, it was out of stock with no notion of when it would return. We sent the item back. The rest of the items were either (to us) overpriced or simply unnecessary. No refund. All things considered, Iâm unlikely to patronize any Simple Human offering in the future because their product may kill you & if doesn't you'll get a nice consolation prize you don't want.

New packaging causing cost increase for refill
I have a sensor soap dispenser which I have been happy with except the removable lid does have some erosion. I usually buy six packs of liquid soap but have been unable to do so recently. This is by far the most economical way to refill. It turns out the reason this option is not available is due to the company changing the packaging. I challenged this but to no avail. The customer service person was very polite and helpful but couldnât provide me with the same refill cost Iâve been using despite single refill

Outstanding customer service
I had a problem with the plastic internal bin so contacted their customer service dept. I received an email within 24 hours and less than 3 days later they had replaced the whole bin! I have to say that their customer service was outstanding, I just expected to get a replacement internal bin but no, they sent me the whole unit. Excellent service all round.
Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. The website boasts outstanding customer service free returns etc etc. In practice this means a grumpy woman without basic manners declining to honour the free return policy. Avoid!
SimpleHuman sensor mirror - AWFUL
I have a SimpleHuman sensor mirror. I purchased it directly from their website. It worked well for a few months, then stopped charging correctly using their charger. I submitted a help ticket and they sent me the canned response - enter SN... I purchased it from them! when i submitted the ticket I entered the information. They asked me for a video of the issue. Their website does not accept videos of a size I can upload - even when I lower the resolution and cut down duration of videos on my phone. Their help desk is awful and I will NEVER purchase a sensor mirror for them again!
BEWARE: Their warranty means nothing for quality control issue
Donât fall for their 10 years warranty. Especially their âsteel or brushedâ finish. They rust from the inside and the clear coat will peel in less than 1 year. My garage bin experienced that issue and they denied any warranty replacement even though I told them this is QC issue. They kept sending me the same text book response âitâs normal for it to rust, discoloring and peelâ. Itâs so pathetic if they consider this to be normal for such âpremium brand for premium priceâ. They know their products have this issue so they baked it into their warranty T&C to deny any claims related to it.
I had the intention to purchase another bin but because of this experience, I did not purchase another bin.
You are better off getting an off brand for a lot cheaper. I do not recommend this brand, not for this price and service.
Not worth the money
Purchased four touchless soap dispensers. After four years, two no longer hold a charge and are useless. For the price paid, definitely not worth buying and a total waste of money. I do not recommend.
Do not stand behind their products
I have bought many products through the years. One in particular was a dishrack with a plastic part that broke. It has since been discontinued. I wrote customer service. They told me it was out of warranty. The website says, "We use the best materials and solid engineering so our products will last in tough environments like your home â for years. We stand by our products. If something goes wrong, we do our best to help solve the problem." Obviously not true, as my email was first answered by A.I. 3 days later, I got another response saying the product was no longer covered. Even though I had purchased 3 of them. The least they could have done is provide a substantial discount for a future purchase. Instead, they offered nothing. I will never buy from them again.
Not happy with this company
Not happy with this company. I purchase a $110 black stainless dish rack. Within a few months the black color started peeling off. I submitted a warranty claim only to be denied stating that "normal wear and tear" is not covered. How is peeling PAINT on a $110 dish rack in just two months considered "normal wear and tear"? Not in my world.....nor will there be anymore Simple Human purchases in my world!

Have 2 simple human soap dispensers. Don't buy their product. The charging cable crapped out, BOTH of them. I requested to purchase a replacement and they don't sell them. I said it's fine that it's not under warranty, I'll pay! But nope. My soap dispensers are effectively paper weights.

Do not waste your money on theâŠ
Do not waste your money on the SimpleHuman soap sensor pump. If you do not use multiple times per day it will clog up the pump and the company does not stand by their products once the warranty runs out. Of course, I bought the $68+ matte gold sensor pump and it was in my powder room and was the least out of 4 to get used. Naturally the pump clogged and it burned out. SimpleHuman does not want to carry replacement parts because they want to suck another $68++ from you. Iâm sticking to the hand soap pump which is more reliable, refillable and costs a fraction of the price. So what if I have to push the pump down, at least it will work. Oh and just try finding a phone number for customer support on their website. They donât want to help you.

J'ai deux distributeur à savon de la marque Simplehuman et ceux-ci sont tombés en panne à quelques mois d'intervalle et bien sur aprÚs la durée de la garantie, le premier 2 mois aprÚs les deux ans et le deuxiÚme 6 mois aprÚs.
J'ai effectué toutes les manipulations recommandées sur le site de la marque et aucun retour à la normal.
j'ai contacté le SAV qui m'a proposé un bon d'achat sur le site de 15%, ils m'ont également indiqué que l'appareil n'était pas réparable.
90⬠le distributeur de savon pour un fonctionnement de 2 ans et quelques mois ca fait cher le lavage des mains, je me retrouve maintenant avec plusieurs litres de savon simplehuman mais plus rien pour le distribuer !
Merci Simplehuman de fabriquer de jolies produits non réparables avec une durée de vie trÚs courte.
