MY BBB REVIEW:
04/05/2026 1:53 p.m. Purchased Farmer John's for $14.99 each. I had two coupons for $10.00 off from the manufacturer. So I brought someone to go shopping with to make two purchases. The assistant at self checkout didn't listen to anything I said, overcharged us and removed us from line. I'm so upset there are no words, I was charged three times. Contacted Smart&Final several times about concerns. They have not contacted me or done anything to resolve the issue. Paid double I am constantly overcharged and getting bad grocery. PLEASE VIEW IMAGES BUGS MOLD & MORE

Here I am wanting to view the weekly ad online since Smart and Final has opted out in having their ad delivered in the mail. I'm LOG-ON to MY account at 2:40 a.m. It is totally impossible to read the ad online. . The window has already said that my store is Lawndale. Unable to read the ad. So I have to go to the store to pick up a ad. The purpose of reading the weekly ad online is so one would not make a useless trip. Smart & Final you win I've been trying to pull up the weekly ad for over a half hour I lose.

Blythe,CA: The (Web erver is not responding) here in Blythe. Im bedridden curveside is my Lifesource, February 11th l made my Last successful purchase from curveside. I can call Employees by name if not even us knowing our personal lives from conversation. Im as loyal as a Rottweiler for S&M Blythe. I DO NOT WANT TO PATRONIZE ALBERTSON nor GROCERY OUTLET Here in Town.

This past weekend, I placed my first online delivery order with Petaluma Smart & Final Iris because they had a huge sale on 2-liter soda. They charged me a $10.00 delivery fee and $5.00 driver tip (which I increased to $7) but I did not receive MOST of the items ordered. My shopper was in contact via SMS while shopping, and even sent me a message asking if it was OK to send .88 lb instead of a full pound of Bok Choy. They NEVER mentioned that about 2/3 of the other items would be left off my order. The driver brought the order to the wrong door on the side of my house when I'd given clear instructions to leave it on the floor in the open garage (he walked right past a sign that says "leave packages here"). I have emailed Smart & Final Iris about sending me the missing items, since I had already paid the full delivery fee & tip but only received 2 small bags of groceries. They keep arguing that I wasn't charged for the missing items, which is NOT THE POINT. So much for customer service - I will never order from this scam center again.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!! I had a terrible experience with them at their store in Carpinteria, I went to the store this past Saturday which was during the big Avocado Festival. When I got there the parking lot was empty, no surprise. I decided to go to the porta potties at the edge of the parking lot with my shopping bag in my hand as I know the one in the store is locked and I didn't want to take an employee's time to unlock the door so I could pee. When I left the port potty and walked toward the store I noticed a piece of paper on my windshield. It turns out their "security guard" had put a notice that they were going to tow my car. This was after being parked for about 5 minutes. When I went into the store to complain the woman by the door told me she was the manager. When I explained the situation, she and the cashier right there and the "Service Manager" were all VERY snarky. They accused me of parking there to go to the festival even though I had my shopping bag in my hand!!! They also accused me of being in the lot too long. Really, I know I'm older but taking a couple of minutes to pee isn't unreasonable. When I pointed that out, the "manager" told me that I'm ONLY allowed to park there when I'm actually INSIDE the store. Sooooooo, they expect me to beam from my car directly into the store??? Unfortunately, no one was smart enough to understand that the ONLY acceptable answer would have been " Sir, I apologize for misunderstanding. Please don't worry, I'll go out and explain to the security guard that this was a mistake and make sure your car isn't towed. Now please go and enjoy your shopping in the store." But no, just snarky defensive arguments by their uneducated, untrained minimum wage employees. GREAT job Smart & Final. No wonder you were taken over by a huge Mexican chain.

I went to Smart and final in La Cumbre on 9-13-2025, and I ask the cashier about some things and I realized that she didn't have her name and then I asked the cashier what is your name, she answered me with a horrible attitude and told me, my name is here on my the chest, but I don't see it, and I told her excuse me but you don't have your name it's just a line on your badge, attitude and anger she tells me my name is on my badge and I told her, it's not true you just see a line that's not your name, so to avoid arguing further I left from the store. So be careful with that cashier, she is Asian with a thin feature. Saturday September 13 at 11:00 AM

I don't speak Spanish the cashier keep talking to me in Spanish did not understand that wi good paid to much for the dry ice i want my money back that is did not last long if she would of talk to me in English maybe I would not have bought it and put it back you people are ripping off the customer 13 dollars for a little bag ?? Gave me my money back or give me a bag of ice.

Price on the shelf of Crystal Geyser drinking water says 4/$5.00 , but at the register I was charged 1.49 each. When I complained and showed the manager a picture of the posted price , he did not care. I have a picture I can post

Cashiers at Smart&Final in Vallejo were extremely rude and unprofessional. There were two male cashiers. One of them was loud and obnoxious, yelling at a customer while checking people out, so I went to the next line over. This cashier wouldn't look at me, smile nor acknowledge me in any way. Yet, he had time to flirt with a previous customer standing next to the checkout counter. His face looked perturbed that I was even in his line. He was of shorter stature, and it's as if he sized me up, like I was some sort of competition?? I'm just trying to buy groceries, man! He didn't say Hi, even tho I did. He didn't smile, didn't look me in the eyes, ...completely ignored me as he checked me out. This was the very first time I ever went to Smart&Final Vallejo, you'd think they'd be nice? No. It was also the last time. There's too many stores in that immediate area to waste a single moment enduring such rude behavior from employees. Neighborhood Walmart is literally two blocks away. My wife had previously shopped here without me, and her visit was marred by a homeless man who tried to exit the back of the building with an entire case of beer which set off the alarms. Granted, that's not Smart&Final's fault, but there is a homeless contingent that loiters around this particular store, making any visit here uncomfortable. My wife and I had always enjoyed perusing Smart&Final in our previous town. And am sad the service and experience at the Vallejo facility has not been positive. The cashier's eyes seering through my chest as if I was a villain has not left my memory since my last visit. I've never experienced that before just buying groceries. We haven't returned here in more than a year and I don't know if we ever will.

Warning - Do not buy vendor gift cards at the store in Norco! We bought 2 different Amazon gift cards from this facility, only to find out that they have already been used. I came in with both cards and receipts and was told by the cashier that they are not responsible - after the card leaves the store. WHAT???? That's like saying - whatever you buy here, you are on your own. Hope it works right, taste right, made right - etc.... How can they not be responsible for an item sold in their store. Makes me wonder about their management and policies. I will think twice about ever coming back to shop here.

Smart & Final sucks. They have false advertising to get you into the store. They have a big ad for corned beef with a digital coupon and when i went to the store there is nothing there. Not even an empty space where they should be. The store workers didn’t even know what I was talking about when I asked where they were. I doubt the store ever had them. When I asked for a rain check I was told Smart & Final does not give them for advertised products. They have lost a long time customer.

I had A great experience at smart and final in Porterville. I needed Something last minute and couldn’t find it quickly. I stopped someone who i thought Was a normal employee to direct me and towards the end of our conversation found out he was a manager. Andy cerda stopped what he was doing to help me without a problem. He walked me to the exact location. It was my fault for not seeing it. It was clearly labeled and right where it should have been. Andy and his team were so helpful and appreciated them enough to leave a review.

They have FALSE Advertising on there flyers they send out. I received a flyer in the mail that showed a pork picnic roast on sale for $1.49/# from October 23rd thru the 31st. My husband and I went to the Smart and Final in Upland and they said that the load they received hadn't been unloaded and it should be available later that day around 5pm. My husband went back the next morning and they told him they didn't show this item on sale. He went back with the add we received and they said it should be in later. We called and are now being told they don't have this item on sale and it's not showing up on there flyer. I'm confused every other item I purchased from the flyer matched the price shown. They tried to tell us the flyers are store specific. The flyer does not state that and the Upland store is a large store. I am very disappointed in the way they handled this and I won't shop at Smart and Final again. At least I know when I get an advertisement from Vons/Albertsons or Stators Bros it is accepted at all there stores. So beware what you think is on sale really isnt.

I asked a cashier what the purpose of ringing up my cart was and she not only did not answer me, but gave me a snotty attitude. Very poor customer service right there. And so I have to assume it is because as a customer of the Smart&Final store I had been charged for using the cart. The only store in my 50+ years that I have seen do that. What's the matter Smart&Final is the millions of dollars you already get from customers not enough for you greedy people. I am no longer shopping in your store

looked at todays ad aug 28th wanted to go get some items , but one item I wanted , the most expensive was on digital ad . so I just did not go buy anything. can not do digital ads do away with them or just sell your items on sale because if you do ads you know your still making money!!!!

First, the prices are not low. Most supermarket prices are much lower. We just tried to eat the worst ribeye steaks ever. The meat was so tough that we would not feed it to our dog. I can't imagine who they are trying to fool selling this garbage. This is a store I will never visit again.

Hope everything is good and well with you. I am always proud to shop in your store and I do one thing that I need to bring your attention. Is that the rotisserie chicken for the past two months as we buy it me and my husband we find it to be very, very salty, with all the respect ! We will continue shopping there🫶

I wasted about 1/2 hour trying to access digital coupons. When I asked the manager for help; she made no attempt to do so. She was incompetent and unwilling to even try. The lane teller tried and cared. - Glenoaks Blvd. in Glendale CA.

Bad customer service cashier so disrespectful and rude. Asked me to shut up and yelling at me in front of all customers. Store 735 . For sure cashier has a race’s issue.
