AVOID. SCAMMER ALERT…
If only I’d read the reviews on here before ordering from these scammers.

From the offset, I was lied to and blackmailed after wanting to cancel the order. I ended up rejecting the order from Royal Mail, to which the owner Sajid Majid messaged me on WhatsApp, stating that he wasn’t happy and that I wouldn’t be getting a refund. Well - true to his word, he was uncontactable after this and the refund is now being dealt with by my bank, as it appears this is how the company conduct its business by selling broken/faulty goods and not honouring refunds.
SM Direct - what a shambles! Hopefully they’ll be shut down soon to avoid this mess happening to many more

Do not order from here, they do not refund, items are faulty, they do not answer the phone or emails. Like many others I have had to go to my bank for a refund dispute.
I feel a BBC Watchdog investigation coming!! AVOID AVOID

Bought Christmas lights from them costing £60. When they arrived some of the lights were faulty so contacted via email to initiate a return.

It states on their website that returns for faulty items are free and a returns label will be provided. We were sent an address to return to but no label.

After repeated emails asking for this label and continually being ignored over the space of a month, we did a PayPal chargeback which was settled in our favour after (you guessed it) the seller didn't respond.

Honestly, don't bother. Pitiful customer service.

If you have purchased from them and are being ignored, please contact your bank or PayPal about initiating a chargeback.

I ordered a washing up bowl, Kilner Jar, branded toaster bags, silicon covers and Loaf tin On Sunday 21 Jan. I got two paypal receipts but no acknowledgement from the actual company. So then searched on line for sm dierct and found this reviews page so was bit worried it was a scam. However, around Friday 26th I got a well wrapped parcel, everything in it , as described and ordered, so would use them again. have left review as some people have said it is a scam, but this is not my experience.

A month after ordering fairy lights, they have still not arrived. I do not believe this is a legitimate company selling legitimate products. When you go into your account to see whats happened to the order it just says "Pending" although online it says delivery was 3-5 days! They take your card payment online but hope you dont claim it back through your bank as many people dont bother. Its definitely a scam. No reply to any of my emails so Im not even going to bother to try to call them. Will claim back through credit card company.

Scam company, thankfully used PayPal.

Slightly concerned by some of the bad reviews on line but quickly delivered Xmas lights and (at least so far) seem exactly as requested. Good quality and work well. Very happy.

I ordered from this company for the first time. I ordered on Saturday and arrived today (wednesday). Great service. Lights are very pretty and as described. Happy customer. Thankyou

Scam website don’t order. My experience similar to most on here sadly. I ordered lights, didn’t receive, cuts me off on the mobile every time I call, no reply to emails or website message option. The positive reviews on here look fake to me - please don’t get scammed and order from them. Raising with trading standards and hopefully will be shut down! Also have raised a claim with PayPal. Save yourself the bother and order from legitimate company.

Do not buy from this company!! Sent the wrong lights,I emailed twice for a return address and refund,but no reply, I'm now stuck with lights I don't want and £20 out of pocket, not happy.

100 percent do not trust this company. I ordered lots of Christmas lights in Nov-2023 and never received them and no reply to numerous messages and answer phone messages. Now I have to raise a dispute with credit card company.

Like many others, I placed an order with some nervousness in light of past reviews for some very pricy lights.
They arrived in 4 days and are perfect.
So, I am of the view that this retailer is good and I am very happy with my purchase.

Like others I was a bit weary prior to ordering due to other poor reviews but thought with using PayPal you have buyers protection so nothing to loose.
So went ahead and bought over £160 of Christmas lights, the prices were good and the order arrived quickly and well packaged! An excellent service from SM direct

I must admit I was worried I would not receive my order of Christmas lights after reading these reviews. My lights arrived less than 24 hrs after I ordered them and are as described so felt compelled to write a positive review.

Bought 2 bags of compost which have never received. Emailed them several times, no reply, no refund, no order.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SCAM FRAUDULENT WEBSITE!
I PLACED AN ORDER FOR SOME XMAS LIGHTS AND PAID OVER £70 BUT NEVER RECEIVED THEM.
MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEM BUT NOT ONE REPLY OR UPDATE. HAVE HAD TO RAISE A DISPUTE TO GET MY MONEY BACK.
WEBSITE SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN AND OWNER SHOULD BE PROSECUTED

They don't respond - Incorrect product received -
I ordered 3 bags of Potting Mix soil and received received the wrong soil (Peat Free Premium All Purpose Compost). Contacted them twice via their website form and also by email direct but two weeks later no reply. Others have reported the same issue when contacting them. This is my first poor experience when buying online, other vendors always happy to take responsibility. Don't take the risk, go elsewhere.

Ordered several bags of topsoil. Said they could deliver in two days. Did not deliver and went quiet. I chased. No answer. Phone going through to voicemail.

I’d ordered a small item (plant feed) and paid for it before I came across these reviews. At this point, I thought that I was going to have to put it down to experience.
Then, today, it arrived. A few days late but exactly what I ordered.
I wouldn’t normally write a review just because a company honoured their side of the bargain. That should be a given. In this case, however, I thought I might provide the single, genuine, decent comment here.

Why does this seller have 100% positive feedback. I bought an air fryer - delivery time was changed 3 times . I contacted seller and was given same one word reply each time. Item eventually arrived in a damaged box and cracked. I was so annoyed by then I opened a PayPal case. I stupidly closed it when seller sent return postage label but then it wouldn’t work. He gave his adress so I sent fryer back as it was useless. Now refusing to answer emails and hasn’t refunded purchase price even though tracking says it was delivered back. PayPal and Evay won’t step in as I closed the case so I am £115 poorer. I have contacted the FOS who have taken up my case but they can’t intervene yet. Avoid this seller - he should be banned from eBay. Customer service is non existent
