Recently we used Smith & Graham's conveyancing service for our first home. From the initial call made to reception all the way to collecting our keys and settling in, the process was so smooth and easy, no hidden fees, fast responses and transparency the entire process. A special mention to Terri who has been nothing short of incredible, I would recommend Terri time and time again to friends and family. Our family have always used Smith and Graham solicitors but never for conveyancing however now I am assured that the service is top quality in all departments. Couldnt have asked for a better solicitor than Bethany. She was fantastic from start to finish. Communication throughout the process was second to none. Constant reassurance and walking me through the process was perfect for me. Even right up to the final days of completion, things were going wrong on the other solicitors side but Bethany was going above and beyond to help correct them even though it wasnt her responsibility. Definitely Avoid using this solicitor for purchasing a house. I was buying a house and the seller was using this solicitor. The solicitor has passed off an incomplete electrical report and the report had been deliberately falsified and these solicitors have passed on the report without checking it correctly

Looking for a solicitor when selling or buying your home can be tricky. If you don’t mind conveyancing taking months longer than other solicitors, then Smith and Graham of Peterlee and Middlesboro are for you

We are in a three-house chain. This involves 5 solicitor practices: the first is our buyers house sale (took only weeks), their bank (took just weeks), Smith and Graham for buying ours (taken months and still ongoing), our solicitor for selling our house (only took weeks) and our solicitor to buy our new place (also only took weeks). So out of 5 solicitors, 4 are really efficient, however, we are all are held back by Smith and Graham

Most solicitors are great. 80% of the practices in this review are fast and to be recommended

You’re probably thinking our house has lots of problems. The house was built in the last 20 years, I bought it 15 years ago with no issues from my solicitor back then (I didn’t use Smith and Graham). Now it’s up for sale and it’s taking months and months. But why?

They are searching for every possible problem and taking weeks to deal with each of them. Most of these ‘problems’ seem to be nothing more than a theoretical “what if”. They want information from before the house was even built, going back to the original plans from 30 years ago. Information that was approved by the Durham County Council when the place was built. Smith and Graham are so thorough, they want it all again, just to be sure

So, if you are in no hurry to move and want to have issues raised at every turn, the most detailed investigation ever carried out, nothing missed and everything to deal with, Smith and Graham of Peterlee and Middlesboro are the conveyancers for you

Selling your home can be stressful and a worry.

Both Bethany and Andrew were very professional through out the journey. The communication was good and if I contacted the office - I received a reply or call soon soon after which really helps when the process can drag out- and you are unsure at what stage you may be - mine didn't.

I was referred to Smith and Graham through Pattinsons estate agency who were selling my late mothers bungalow .I was impressed with the speed at which the exchange and completion went through , as well as professionalism of the firm
Mr Jameel Bashir kept me up to date with the process and Andrew Temple answered all my queries in a timeous manor .The fees were reasonable and transparent from the start .( especially with the allowance towards their costs under the Pattinson selling package )Although it was a straight forward sale with no mortgages involved or other property to buy it was time sensitive and was managed in under 6 weeks .The PAs at the Hartlepool office were pleasant and helpful and passed on all information to Mr Bashir and the conveyancing team I do not hesitate to recommend this firm for conveyance
