Frank was amazing! Helpful, efficient and knowledgeable and spent time talking through different tilting bed options and mattresses to ensure we found the right one for my elderly mother who suffers with severe neck pain. Brilliant customer service.

A pleasure to deal with Smiths of Harrogate from start to finish no pushy sales person to deal with instead a friendly knowledgeable and happy to listen person to deal with as i had a few query’s regarding the Opera adjustable bed i was interested in purchasing so thanking you very much Frank you made the whole purchase a pleasure. I did make the correct choice with my Opera adjustable bed and it’s a real pleasure having an adjustable bed for my needs. The delivery team were friendly, polite and respectful of my home and got on with the erecting of my Opera adjustable bed easily with the knowledge they have so thanking them for that. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Smiths of Harrogate for any furniture needs especially Opera beds.

Lots of helpful advice and guidance regarding the most suitable mattress for us. Relaxed and not in the least pushy.

My husband has an aggressive, terminal illness and I urgently needed to find him a suitable, swivel recliner chair, preferably electrically operated. I also needed it sooner rather than later, so a 12 week order lead time was not going to work for us. Having searched for a chair locally (we are in Kent!) I discovered Smiths of Harrogate online and telephoned them. John Chamberlain was extremely helpful and advised me that they did have a chair available that fitted my remit, but that they did not deliver to Kent. John sent me photographs and a video of the chair in action and I said that I would look into how we could arrange collection. However, the following morning just after 9am I received a call from John to say that he had spoken to their transport company who were prepared to deliver the chair to us at a minimal cost - much less than it would have been for me to hire a vehicle to collect. John also pointed out that due to my husband's condition, we were eligible to purchase the chair less VAT and he forwarded to me the necessary document to complete and return. I am thrilled to say that the purchase and arrangements were completed within the hour and we are looking forward to delivery next week. The service received from Smiths of Harrogate (John in particular) is exemplary - how refreshing to be treated so well. I cannot recommend this firm highly enough, as I am sure that all their employees have the same friendly, informative, "can do" , efficient attitude. Five stars plus!

I ordered an expensive (for me!) chest of drawers. The pricing was very competitive and the customer service exemplary. Human beings answered the phone and they answered my questions patiently and with reassuring expertise. Delivery was as promised, to the bedroom up a tricky staircase. Great products at a great price and great people. So good to see that businesses like this still exist.

Walked in the door spotted exactly what we liked..Steve Dyson was superb so friendly knowledgeable helped us enormously..one corner sofa lately happy customer. Also samples on way so can match a carpet..if you want personal touch of a family business with excellent customer service you need to come here.you will be blown away.

I am 86 years old and throughout my long life, I have bought many major items, houses, cars, furniture etc., and without doubt, Smiths of Harrogate, stands out as probably the best company, for quality of products, sales and aftersales service and customer care, I have ever dealt with. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and all their employees, from showroom staff, to delivery people are competent and professional, and I know what I am talking about as I was head of sales training for one of the biggest companies in the world. Special mention has to be made of John Chamberlain, who went that extra mile, in sorting out a problem that I thought would be a major headache to me, but he handled it with aplomb and proficiency, making the problem just a minor setback. Thank you for your efforts.

We ordered an Ercol sofa and chair from Smiths and they are really good pieces. Very pleased with them. There was real difficulty in fitting the 3 seater sofa into the front room. We wanted to give special thanks to Liam and Mark - who delivered the furniture - they went more than the extra mile is making sure the sofa got in safely. Excellent experience with Smiths from the ordering through to the delivery. 5 stars indeed

Excellent experience of ordering a piece of furniture by telephone. I’d tried out the item in another store however they wouldn’t deliver for me even though they’re much nearer geographically. Nothing was too much trouble for Smiths of Harrogate. Christopher was superb; he was very patient and gave me lots of really good advice on my purchase.

The furniture I purchased from this store is of exceptional quality,
and I was impressed with the attention to detail and craftsmanship of each piece.

We bought carpet and furniture 2 years ago and where very pleased with the service.However the carpet we bought showed signs of wear very early only where we sat the rest is perfect. (but we thought at time it was just dirty ) it turned out to be,Heel Abrasion, and we’ve been informed that there nothing the company can do.we now will replace the carpet but use another company.
Mr Smith the previous carpet had been down13yrs with no Heel Abrasion in fact it was in good condition and only replaced because I change the colour scheme, it also was much cheaper than the carpet I bought from your company.

Excellent customer care from John when ordering Kesterport dining table and chairs and bar stools. We live in Guernsey and John arranged and kept us informed at all times regarding timescales and delivery. We would highly recommend this company.

An excellent experience - we drove from Northumberland after having a reasonably long and informative telephone conversation the day before. My husband has a back condition and an advisor discussed the pros and cons of what I thought was my preferred Ercol option. He suggested to remain open and look at a whole range of designs as well as manufacturers; plus sit for a while to really experience lumbar support. There was absolutely no pressure to buy, just a lot of sensible advice given firstly by a lady sales person and then John. We were able to make a considered purchase (albeit after a lot of research in the NE.)The absolute bonus of Smiths is the availability of almost every range I had considered available on one shop floor. Customer service was also exceptional.
We left the store after purchasing 2 chairs plus a customised size area rug with further samples ordered for an additional rug. We were in the store for a long time but were never hassled nor encouraged to make a speedy choice.

Christopher was both knowledgeable and helpful. He guided me through the process of requesting fabric swatches, confirmed my understanding of ordering and paying a deposit. Checked the estimated waiting time for my order to be delivered and ensured that I had all the information I needed to proceed with my purchase. All in all a very positive experience.

Awful experience with this business. They've supplied a sofa with one seat cushion that is clearly overstuffed, is totally out of line with all the others, doesn't fit on the base and looks ridiculous. First was told to sit on it for 2 weeks to get rid of the 'air bubbles' and now to sit on it for another 3 - 6 months to see if it settles. So just bought of the most expensive purchases I'll make only for it to look awful and not be functional as if you lay out on it your legs are several inches higher than your bum, tipping you backwards!

From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a warm welcome and the suggestion of much needed coffee. This was duly delivered by Paul who proceeded to be extremely knowledgeable and made our subsequent purchase (completely free of hard sell) a delightful experience. 100% recommended.

Professional and helpful sales knew their product and advised accordingly.
