I had just finished the trial period and was charged the full monthly amount. I called to cancel and hopefully get a refund. The customer service person was very quick to agree to the refund. I did say the reason that I could not continue to use the service was due to being currently unemployed and that every dollar counts at this time. They said that they fully understood and that the purpose of this service is to help ppl find employment, so they offered the same level of membership for a reduced amount. I appreciate the help while I'm try to navigate the arduous task of finding a job.

Sonara AI - worth it
This was the only job subscription service that helped me. I actually got my job through a personal reach-out to a company I admired, but Sonara helped me get dozens of resumes out in 30 minutes, as opposed to working on one job application for 30 minutes (liked LinkedIn Premium). I get several interviews as a result. I'm not slamming LinkedIn - I just don't think it should be your only resource.

I used SonaraHigh Volume, Low Relevance, No Interviews
I used Sonara AI for a few months and applied to well over 250 jobs. Unfortunately, I did not receive a single interview, despite marketing claims that the platform significantly increases interview chances.
To be fair, there is an important caveat: part of the lack of success was due to my resume being misaligned with some of the higher-level roles I was targeting. That said, an automated job application service should account for alignment and relevance. Many of the roles Sonara applied to did not meaningfully match my experience or the keywords I would have chosen myself.
One of my biggest frustrations was that Sonara does not allow users to complete applications that require follow-up steps, such as entering a security code sent by email. Because you never actually see the application, there were multiple jobs I technically applied to but could not finish, which likely disqualified me immediately. This felt like a major functional limitation, especially as more companies add extra verification steps specifically to avoid AI-driven mass applications.
Customer service did respond relatively quickly when I reached out, which is a positive. However, the product itself did not feel meaningfully better than using Indeedâs Easy Apply, and in some ways felt worse. Indeed has stronger integration with employers, better visibility into applications, and fewer technical dead ends.
Overall, Sonara AI did not deliver on its core value proposition for me. While automation sounds appealing, volume without relevance, visibility, or completion capability does not translate into real results. I will not be renewing my subscription.
