I only wish I could leave ZERO stars. Audit shows they've been charging me for 2 years without a single login to their platform. ever. Scummy. Submitted to AG & FTC, but class action is a long shot - great Ts & Cs lawyering. Crazy to have been charged hundreds of dollars and never used the platform a single time.

I've been using Soundstripe for a while now and the whole thing just works. The library is easy to search, licensing is painless, and I never have to second-guess whether I'm covered when I publish. For what you get, the subscription price is honestly hard to beat — I've looked at the alternatives.

But the reason I'm actually writing this is their customer support. I had a billing situation that, by their own Terms, shouldn't have qualified for a refund. Instead of hiding behind policy, the rep went to their billing team and got an exception approved for me. They explained exactly what would happen to my licenses and what I needed to do next, so there were no surprises. Fast, clear, and human.

One thing though: that was an exception, not a policy. Please don't read this and go bang on their door demanding the same treatment — read the Terms first, like I should have. The point isn't that you can get a refund. The point is that when a company has every right to say no and chooses to help anyway, that tells you exactly who you're dealing with.

What impressed me the most was the customer support. Before subscribing, I had a few questions and received quick, friendly, and helpful responses through the live chat. They took the time to explain the differences between the subscription plans and helped me choose the option that best suited my needs.

I ended up choosing the Pro plan, and I’m very happy with that decision. The music library is excellent, the quality is consistently high, and the licensing process is straightforward and gives me confidence when publishing content online.

Soundstripe had a wide variety of sound effects and videos in the format my student needed for a school project. When I needed support, they were quick and helpful in their response.

I've been using Soundstripe music for years and have always been pleased with the library's constant updates.
As a musician, I can confirm that the quality of the tracks is very high and the selection is excellent. I've always found what I was looking for for my video productions.

I use Soundstripe for my church production. It is easy (and fun) to find just the right music for my video project, whether it's a promo video for an event or ministry, or the preservice music for our online worship service.

I have been trying to cancel my $299 auto-renewal for days without success. Your website redirects to a non-responsive 'SoundBot', and your billing emails are bouncing back with errors. This is a clear case of dark patterns and predatory billing. I have an open support ticket titled 'URGENT: Cancel Auto-Renewal'. I demand an immediate confirmation that my auto-renewal is disabled. I have already documented everything and will be filing a formal dispute with my bank if this isn't resolved today.

UPDATE: Following my review, the Soundstripe team reached out immediately. They have successfully canceled my subscription and issued a FULL refund, which reached my bank account within hours. I appreciate the quick and professional human intervention to resolve this matter.

I've used Soundstripe for years at this point and I have zero complaints. I use their site for my own content creation, as well as for my professional video production company.

It's an easy site to use; most of the time, I can find a song or sound effect quickly. Unless I get stuck in the rabbit hole every editor knows about, but that's not Soundstripe's fault lol!

I like the stock video options to use with some of my video production work.

The service is very poor in selection but that have malicious billing practices. The account executive that contacted us made not only a false claim but our billing was altered to a plan that was not authorized. There are much better options in the marketplace.

We enrolled in a annual plan and mysteriously we are now on a quarterly plan which is $299 per month.

$1200 a year for the selection they have? Arlist has much better options at a fraction of the cost.

Amazing music catalog! Very high quality with lots of variety. I love that they give you the stems for each song. The AI search makes it very easy to find the perfect track to match your project.

Ryan Stansky has been my point of contact at Soundstripe & he's been incredible. I'm a filmmaking educator working with Soundstripe on social media partnerships, and it's been a breeze. The team really cares about putting the creator first & making sure they have creative expression when promoting Soundstripe. The platform itself is amazing and I really trust brands that continue to improve and innovate alongside new technology.

Getting a resolution to a query extremely fast, I mean within minutes, is what makes service stand out today. That human to human experience that’s lacking in 2025, Soundstripe gives that human experience.

Even though I never have issues, the ONCE OR TWICE I did, it was resolved.

My company has been using Soundstripe for 5 years now, and we have found it to be the best music library option for our needs. With our enterprise account, we have music licensing coverage across all types of deliverables including broadcast for a very reasonable price. Soundstripe is constantly adding new features to the platform that make finding the right track for a project a great experience.

⚠️ Avoid Soundstripe at all costs.

I had one of the worst subscription experiences with them. Once you end your subscription, they don’t stop charging you. Even after cancelling through the bank, Soundstripe has a very dodgy system with “tokens” that lets them keep charging your new card details without your consent. This is an extremely shady practice and feels like a deliberate trap to keep customers locked in.

💸 Don’t waste your time or money. There are far better and more transparent services out there. I recommend using Lickd instead — they’re upfront, clear, and don’t play these sneaky games with your payment details.

Don't waste your time. The "free" version only allows you to download watermarked previews, PLUS when you create an account (mandatory to download their "free" tracks) you get automatically subscribed to ALL their crappy emails. If you need a one-off use song, do yourself a favor and look somewhere else for music, there are just so many better options...

I had contacted Soundstripe regarding a custom license/subscription for large clients and brands. Their communication was incredible. I was promptly responded too and scheduled a call with a sales person. They set me up with a free account for a few days to try out the service. Unfortunately I found the music selection very subpar and the AI search tools quite useless.

I commend them for their prompt replies and great customer service, but unfortunately decided to shop elsewhere due to the music selection not meeting my needs.

I joined Soundstripe with a free membership and before the month was over I checked my account and it stated FREE ACCOUNT. Since then I have had around $90 taken out of my account over 3 months even though I am on a free account and haven't given you my bank details! WTF!

This is illegal and I want the money refunded immediately.

I will file a report with Fair Trading and I suggest everyone else do the same so this SCAMMING company goes under!

UPDATE: Soundstripe issued me a refund after all that arguing when the first representative told me that a refund was impossible. I still give them 1/5 stars as their music library is subpar and their customer service team are rude. Stay away. I've had better luck with Envato and Premium Beats thus far.

I was told they had a great selection of music and it was completely my fault for not looking over their site before purchasing but I was on a ridiculous time crunch from a client and didn't look through their limited catalogue before purchasing a month subscription. I downloaded two sound effects and then went to search for some music for the project and was SHOCKED by how little they had to offer. Literally, 7 songs, off of my filtered search results. I also use ENVATO and they have PAGES of songs to choose from. I was shocked by how little they had to offer at that price point!!! I asked if I could get a refund as I had literally made the purchase and the rep said NOPE! Yikes. Stay away from this company. Complete ripoff and terrible customer service.
