I got Speechelo on impulse around Black Friday hoping that it was just a good BF offer.

first payent of $32.40 only one British English male and female voices, both only AI-enabled, which sounded nothing like the main AI guy from the ad. The American English voices, both male and female one sounded OK, it seemed more of them were available, too, but can't be sure.

I emailed S. for a refund got offered all the tea in China FOR LIFE if I paid them another $47 ( another cat in the bag what you getting then )

IMPORTANT they actually mentioned that what I paid was NOT A ONE-OFF PAYMENT which is what I believed on sign up, but that it actually was a recurring subscription, I checked and there it was, easy to cancel, they didn't have to mention it strictly speaking

I requested a chargeback via Paypal, and by reply and got it the same day.

Very oddly, their how-to tutorial, not a bad one, was voiced over in a thick East European accent, which seemed very strange indeed under the circumstances, I can only assume that the guy, perhaps the owner, just couldn't resist the sound of his own voice!

So not an outright scum probably, but lads of headache to get any value

- I paid, yet the access wasn't delivered.
- You are forced to watch these "premiums" before moving on to the next. I don't even know if this is the norm.
- To this hour, I still have no access. It's been almost a day now. Just, wow.
- I already requested a refund, still waiting for a response. UPDATE: Luckily, I paid through Paypal. It appears, I might have a chance of a refund initiated by Paypal and not by this company.

I still have not gotten a refund; the product was not delivered. I never agreed to buy a subscription, I simply want my money refunded for a product that was not delivered. I hate everything about the way speechelo does business. It is disgusting and not an honorable, above-board business.

They are a scam, but as I paid with Paypal they gave me a full refund (as it's worst for them if I comply to Paypal).
You can't work with your paid product without CONSTANT ADS to upgrade. They misleadingly sell all the features for 27 usd, but in fact you get very limited options.
You need to buy 3 more products for all the features they promise.
This is not serious.

Wow... I'm so glad I found this website. I was going to purchase this software. All the reviews made me realize a lot of things. This company doesn't seem to be very transparent with what they promote. I will stay away from this product. Thanks a lot for this great service trustpilot!

I sat down this morning to write a glowing 4/5 star review of Speechelo and the Pro upgrade that I recently purchased. I paid $27 for the basic app and was immediately presented with the "PRO" version upgrade option for $127. After playing around with the basic package for a day or two I realized it was not going to offer the voice options I needed for my videos. So I bought the Pro upgrade even though it seemed a bit expensive. So far I have been reasonably happy with the results. But, and there always seems to be a "But" in these stories, I was reading some reviews here and it seems that some versions of the Pro plan are only for three months.... What the heck? Was my Pro package a one-time purchase or a subscription for three months or perhaps one year? What did I buy with my hard earned money? So I tried to contact the good folks via their comments and help page. And here is my complaint with the system. I gave up after being re-directed to a couple of different places. They do not make it easy to get a simple answer to a simple question. Also my account page does not define what I actually have and for how long.

Most of the voices are not usable as they tend to sound very robotic but several are really quite good. They sound much better if you use lots of punctuations and spend a little time learning to help the AI. They also sound much better if laid down with a music backing track.

Thus far I do not have a complaint with the actual app but that's only two thirds of the package. Customer support is often critical for users and I found the process of asking for a simple answer about my purchase was not "User Friendly" even though I get lots of follow up stuff from the developers wanting to sell me more goodies. It's 3 stars for now. I'll upgrade if I ever get an answer to my question, did a get a one time "Pro" upgrade for my $127?

I requested a refund on Sept 30th and checked back 10/15 to find the ticket was closed and no refund has been issued!

I purchased PRO to have more voices, but portuguese voices from Portugal are only 4, three standard and 1 AI. Voices are not natural enough, specially if you have to pronnounce names it sounds fake and strange.
To read a ebook to voice, in order to listen, it gives you a limit of 20000 caracters is short to that purpose.

Sadly Speechelo is pretty much rubbish and I feel I've been scammed. I checked their emails and was shocked to see how I was spammed once or twice a day with so much hype making out it was such a fantastic product but the fact is when you get to use it, it isn't and it simply isn't worth the trouble. I paid by Paypal and will be applying for a refund. Better to pay someone on Fiverr to read it for you.

I canceled my credit card shortly after I paid the standard subscription ( I just bought it yesterday)! There are a couple of things that Speechelo makes me feel suspicious of:
1) They don't provide a Payment info page for users (to modify, etc.) Credit card info is saved when you're about to pay for the service, and there is only one button, no other choice than just clicking on Save & Pay Button. Yes, I was fooled in a hurry to buy the program at $27.
2) The ads make people understand it is a lifetime subscription, but it is not! In my case, I just found out later that it is written as $0 for 10 years. But this is acceptable for me with $27 for 10 years; it is worth it. But please keep reading until the end.
3) Later, I discovered that people had badly experienced UNAUTHORIZE CREDIT CARD CHARGES. They keep Credit card info to automatically update the program to the PRO version, which will repeatedly occur every 3 months!!!! I assume this must be why they don't let the Credit card owners modify, delete or decide whether to save card info. So if you want to buy their service, you have to let them keep your credit card info.

4) I was using the program and trying to understand how it worked with some short sentences. I previewed the voice several times before generating files. The day after (today), I found out about the Usage Charge that I had already used up to 2,747 characters and will get back the characters used 30 days ago. But the limit characters of the standard version is 5000. Now the characters available for usage are slightly over 2,000. So.. how can I use the program if I have to wait for 29-30 days to get those used characters back???? How do they offer such a cheating service to clients?

I made a transaction on Speechelo, and was charged multiple times for the same transaction. Be aware! They're crooks. Do not do business with these people.

I recently bought speechelo and used it a few times. It's a really nice software and they also have other useful tools that you can buy. There is something that I really want to express, even if I am sure they are already working on it. When I bought this software my main reason, except for quality voice over, was time saving and also money. I realised that it takes me around two or more hours (depends of my script) to make a voice over complete still. That's because I have to enter 2-3 sentences to make sure the quality is still fine. It takes a lot. That method honestly isn't great. Imagine if you could find a way to copy and paste all together, even if you have to space sentences, it would be fantastic. Also, sometimes the voice over isn't amazing so I need to change some words to perfect it. And the AI option sounds monotonous, considering that you can't select a different type of emotion, like angry, etc... One more thing that come to my mind is that would be even amazing if you can actually select one sentence and make it sounds like desperate or whatever, just for that particular sentence. Those are just a few things that may help to improve the software. However, I still keep using it of course!!! Keep up the good work, I am sure it will be much better soon!!

Wow. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought Speechelo. What utter garbage. They draw you in with their flashy YT advert and the moment your payment has gone through you’re subject to harassment tactics to upgrade and buy more software. After a few minutes of this I’d had enough but as I could see the login button I thought the ordeal was over. Logged into their software and tried a couple of test paragraphs. Within 5 minutes I was requesting a refund. The damn thing couldn’t pronounce Manchester. ‘Manshester’, it sounded drunk. Finally after 12 emails I got my refund, their customer support is the worst ever honestly and their post-purchase and post-refund spam has to be criminal. Luckily I used a specifically dedicated email address for them so I can now just ignore their spam.

I assume this is the best product you can get momentarily but the speech (German in my case) is still not natural enough. The part I'm missing is (to say it with Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah) "the major lift, the minor fall". Often the outcome sounds very different from what I would expect to hear if a real person reads the text that I feed into Speechelo.

You need the Pro-version. The standard is too limited. Even with the pro-version it is not always so easy. For example to get the voice to ask a question is not always that clear. You need some practice with punctuation, but then it goes for the most part. Real voices are better, but much more costly. Overall I'm happy and I recommend the product.

A total scam company! I have been in the radio and voice over business for many years. I found Speechelo while searching for various ways to enhance and diversify some of my VO projects.

The issue is not the (small and too good to be true) purchase price I paid, it's that after I purchased the Basic, all I got was pop-up ads to "upgrade". I could not access or download anything until I upgraded to PRO.

I submitted a ticket requesting a refund. I received a message back from "Ed" apologizing for my inconvenience, etc., blahblahblah, and that he upgraded me to Pro AND WorldWide for lifetime at no charge to me at all. I was skeptical of course.

He did NOT do this. I submitted another ticket reminding them that I requested a refund, not a "solution". I then received another response from someone else with the same BS that the liar "Ed" spewed and was now given links to upgrade "at a discount", which is nothing but the same spam link we all get when we initially register.

I was also told by "Ed" that their FB group is very active with satisfied users and everyone helps one another. I looked on FB and see 3 Speechelo Groups; One has 35 members and 7 posts a year, another has 47 members with 5 posts a year and another with 139 members and 20 posts per week has nothing but spam in some Farsi language.

Finally, I was told how many users are "making so much money" using Speechelo rather than real voices for voice overs- I know very well how the VO industry works and that statement is NOT true at all.

Their replies come in the middle of the night (here in the US). I believe they are based somewhere in or near Middle East.

My bank is very good a when it comes to matters such as this, so I simply filed a dispute...

They are nothing but liars and con artists- DO NOT use this horribe scam platform!!

I really, really love Speechelo! I upgraded to the the pro version which is still reasonable in price and I love it. I don’t understand any negative reviews.

I decided to start another YouTube channel that would include voice overs, and decided to use Speechelo as a temporary solution, until I could create a quite echo- free place to record my own VO. Knowing full well, creating & editing your own VO for sound quality and frame timing is a lot of work! Hiring out would be easiest and Speechelo can help you with that too!

But guess what? Once I started using Speechelo, and how natural the voices sounded, and with so many to choose from, I’m putting any plans to do my own VO on hold. I even researched other software like Speechelo and was not impressed at all!

The pro vs standard voices are the thing to think about. My experience is with some of the offered voices they were not always far apart. Pro voices do sound the most natural and pleasing so I do recommend the upgrade to pro. That being said not all projects may need pro-voices over standard. It would depend on what you were using it for. Many of the standard non pro AI voices offered are pretty decent.

However, the pro voices are better if a smoother voice is your desired result. Also, with the right punctuation, pauses and copy length they sound as perfect as you can get with AI voice technology.

The software is not hard to use to get the results you want: a smooth natural sounding voice with the right inflection. You just have to watch, listen and implement the text to speech tutorial tips and experiment a bit, and you will find the perfect work flow to get the voice right every time. I accidently signed up with speechelo.com while i wanted to sign up with speechify. I didnt know there were 2 companies with almost the same name and the same product/service. I was very happy with the speechify customer service who answered all my questions fast and accurate, but i never heard back from speechelo. When i payed speechelo I realized after getting the invoice and opening the account that i had purchased accidently the wrong one. I NEVER used the service or touched a button, but i still had to fight to get my money back. after going back and forward when i contacted paypal they finally contacted me. but STILL didn't want to reimburse me. When i threatened to cancel the payment through paypal and contacting their payment processor they finally agreed. BAD doing business!!
